I can see HL3 as open world shooter. I'd like to be able freely explore and unfold the world of HL. And I'm talking about more like BOTW approach. You can tell even in HL2 they wanted to make game world feel as big as possible.

I hate open world games to begin with, but the open world in BOTW was better than Skyrim by a country mile, at least there was some shit to see and some things you had to consider. (How do I warm myself up/how do I see down here/ how do I get over there) instead of going into the same 'ancient cave' that is fully lit with skeletons and tapping rmb to kill them.

You sound like a person who never played any other shooters. HL has 0 replayability and the only fun about it is story, interesting world and physics which not that big of a deal nowdays. I'd rather play Bioshock again just because you have that "player choice" and it's not even open world.

The only other game I played from TES series is oblivion, and it also had no respect for my time or fun. If Morrowind was somehow the golden egg of the series then fuck me, but I'd guess that it isn't.
