Only thing I liked better in the first game was the mild non linearity with being able to revisit old areas and fight new enemy layouts in them, even if it was a mostly useless feature. The second game is better in every other way.
Pretty likely to already be in development, one of the head guys at Cygames is a massive ZoE fan which is why they even bothered negotiating with Konami of all companies in the first place to do the port, and they have literally billions of dollars from their gacha games which they’re using to find passion projects now, and ZoE3 may well be one of those since Konami seem to be fine letting them handle their IPs as long as they foot the bill.
