Reminder that even though people only give a shit about/show the central avenue, teotihuacan was fucking enormous and covers like 60 square kilometers
Shit was unironically bigger then rome at it's height, and existed at the same time.
and pretty much every person was living in a fancy palace complex: each building you can see easily in this map is giant multi-room complex, you can't see the sort of smaller single room buildings that most people in most other ancient and medivial cities lived in unless you zoom way the fuck in on this image

Jacob's Well, Texas. I've been there myself. It's an aquifer and it's basically a shallow pool 3 feet deep with a massive sinkhole that goes down for like 40ft and is 15ft in diameter. They say the caves go on for miles and even divers have gotten lost and only the ropes they leave saved them

The value of any individual is determined by society, and furthermore by the actual needs of that society. If you do not make any contribution to your society or are harmful to it, then you have no value, or may be said to be nothing more than a ‘negative’. If the notion of abstract humanity is encouraged there will be no end of strife. Why, people will start saying: workers have an intrinsic value, as do university students and cadres. This will lead to people arguing that it is inhuman to send people to work in the border regions, that to do so shows a disregard for the value of the individual. It is precisely thinking like this that has been poisoning the minds of the masses, turning them into selfish individualists. Such thinking is detrimental to our socialist cause, and will do nothing but harm to the (correct) development of one’s self.

> who are only slightly related to the Toltecs
Mind clarifying on this?
As far as i'm aware, we don't know what culture/ethnicity built Teotihuacan, AND we aren't even sure the Toltec were a real thing as the Aztec describe them, or that if they were, that the site of Tula was actually their captial
Jaxon Watson

Also the fact we know basically nothing about it isn't quite true: We know that Spearthower Owl conquered Tikal and installed a dyansty there, and we can sumerise some political trends in the city from the history of construction in the city, such as how different cults for different gods waxed or waned in influence; that it was multi-ethnic given certain neighbhoods had distinctly maya or zapotec style burials and pottery, and it's been suggested that the city had a democratic or represenative goverment due to the lack of royal tombs, icongraphy, the egaltarian housing I mentioned in , and that the city had some sort of civil uprising in the 600's AD since specific compounds near ceremonial sites which were slighty fancier seemed to have been intentionally targetted alkong with a few other specific parts of the city and destroyed while other parts were left alone
Luke Long
But what about the mesoamerican folding shields? Do we have any surviving specimens? Foldable shields man, just as incredible as curved swords.

>The Communist Party of China and the Chinese government have determined the nature of the incident.
There's something kind of chilling about that being stated to openly and frankly. The government has decided history, you will follow.

The stuff in that article about "vaccinating" society reminds me of the Half Life 2 Combine.
Parker Ramirez
Teotihuacan is a bitch, Tenochtitlan is the real shit.
Mason Green
Didn't actually happen. Notice with tank man the tanks all stop?
The "Tanks ran over protesters" comes from the 27th group army, made up of basically retarded illiterate hillbillies going ballistic and largely running over fellow soldiers and police with APC's while shooting army medics and wounded soldiers with machines guns on the APCs, they also did attack protesters, but initially attacked fellow military and police forces.

That's what happens when you're in a society that values the community as higher than the individual.
Every totalitarian state did this to a degree, they weren't exactly subtle about it.

It is every citizen's final duty to go into the tanks and become one with all the people.
