I'm looking to play something that'll give me the same feeling that I got after beating Nier Automata. I'm one of those dolts who played it and enjoyed it a lot, but after I beat it it left me speechless with a lot to think about.
So Yea Forums, what game has just left you speechless after beating it? Doesn't have to be like Automata or anything.
Play FO3 and fuck Fisto, it'll give you a lot to think about too.

I want to try Automata but I've never played the original Nier or the Drakengard games. Will that be trouble for playing Automata?
Zachary Diaz
Did you play the original Nier? If you didn't, play that then replay Automata and it'll be a whole new experience.
Wyatt Morales
Iirc, not really. You will miss out on a few things, but nothing suuuuper integral to the main plot of the game.
One thing that is big though is why humanity died out and shit. And to sum it up from the original Nier, there was some jank ass curse that turned everyone into salt. While that is a big thing, I wouldn't say it's integral to the plot of Automata. It's more about why the robots try to emulate humans and sentience.
I didn't, unfortunately. And PS3 emulation is shit. Could borrow it from a friend, though. Is there any big difference between JP Nier and NA Nier other than the different main characters?
Dylan James
As someone who played all of the games, no, you don't need to have played them to enjoy the game. If anything I'd say play the first nier but it's not necessary (it's a great game tho)

watch Clemp's videos summarising the past games

>I'd say play the first nier
For the hermaphrodite?
Ian Jenkins
Personally I prefer adult/American Nier because it's a bit more original, but either version ought to be fine.
