Just finished DMC1 (thought i'd start the older games before I try the others) and holy fuck shit, this is the game people were insulting people calling them zoomers about? It has the writing and dialogue of a saturday morning cartoon or the newer power rangers, complete with the exaggerated nooooooooooo after defeat and the evil muahahaha laughter. There are Disney channel kid shows with more intelligent dialogue than this ha. That abrupt close up of Trish face "looks like we have a winner" has me still rolling. 2 highlights though. Dante's scene with Trish when he tells her why he saved her, and the music. Other than that, don't think i'll be playing a second time unless I get drunk. I want to try 2 next but since people say it's horrible, and the story in this one was grade A cheese.....can it honestly get even worse?

DMC5 is just a linear mashfest with non-existent level design, it relies 100% on the combat mechanics and basically trusts you to make your own fun when that’s fucking boring. I want to be challenged and forced to use certain things, not have it all left up to me.

But I would agree with you on a couple of things, the pacing is bad and needs to stop making Dante only available on the second half if the game, I would even prefer if they did like DMC2 where each character has his own campaign with some similarities here and there
And the revive system is the worst, why not just have it like the old games, with the Gold and Yellow orb options?

Man I spent a solid 5 hours replaying this at my mate's house today cause I don't have any remotely modern tech at home, what a fucking excellent game. It felt great zipping around as Dante with Trickster returned to its former glory, and I finally got gud at Nero and started hitting MAX-ACTS like it was nothing, and I know nothing about the timings, I haven't even finished 4. Great feelings, especially good feelings are clearing out a room using SDT's Judgement when the gauge is nearly empty, or timing Nero's Hard Way as the finisher for several grouped enemies. Great stuff.

There's an option in training mode for constant quadruple s. It's not really that hard to practice imo. It just comes out so quick that it's kinda jarring.

To one shot a boss it requires a shit load of orbs that you would only amass through paying for orbs like a pleb, playing for a long time, or farming mission 15. No matter what avenue you take you can't just equip it and one shot bosses straight away.

People need to stop expecting DMC5SE at E3, it won't happen until Next-Gen consoles arrive.
Dan is the ultimate leak machine, all you need to do is compare his words against others at Capcom. Matt Walker said on Twitter "There are currently no DMC5 DLC planned", while Dan Southworth said "There has been talk.." Translation: They're planning more content but there's nothing being announced anytime soon, Dan also implies he hasn't even recorded his lines for it yet. Also, the PS5 and Nextbox is just around the corner. It makes no sense to make a DMC5SE in early 2020 when next-gen will be out late 2020. DMC5 is already pushing current gen to its limits, with a next gen DMC5 they would be able to address problems such as loading times, lack of turbo, LDK; next-gen launch titles also always sell well no matter what because people just want something to play, so people who never even played DMC would pick the game up.
