Yeah. Gen V was peak in-game artstyle, Unova is lovely, and it was fun to encounter and catch only things I'd never seen before. I wish all of the regions had distinct wildlife like that.
BW2 turned out great, but in retrospect, I'm really disappointed that GF decided to go in the direction they did after BW, where every game includes a ton of older species. It's to the point where every route is packed to the gills with different shit just so they can all fit in the region.

This is largely because the watercolour creates and impressionist look that actually ends up making the Pokemon look more "real" due to it simulating "light" better but also because in old Pokemon, they generally used to pose the Pokemon actually doing something now they just have them standing smirking. Was Black even hard?
I dont remember any hard part in Black 1, but Black 2 made me drop the game when I got to the Ground gym leader, which is still mind blowing to me cuz I never got a challenge of Pokemon games outside of PvP.
Maybe I just didnt bother to grind my mons in Black 2 cuz I didnt like it as much as the first.

The trainers look way more a part of the Pokemon world in the old style. Now they just look like generic anime characters.

Like can you even remember Gym Leaders and E4 other than the Champion, Dragonmommy, and that bitch that wanted to fuck Lucario? The only thing to do was catch them all, and even then that wasn't exactly difficult.

Surfing wasn't that bad, you spent a lot less time on water than what you make it seem. You were really only on the expanse from the way to Lillycove to Mossdeep and from Mossdeep to Sootopolis. int he origina Ruby and Sapphire you don't even need to go to Pacifidlog. Super Repels were cheap.
