people seem to doubt the increased healing requirement in ShB, but don't seem to realize that tanks are gaining a TON of defenses/hp from the new items/traits we've seen, while healers are gaining significantly less MND. Meaning that even though tanks will be taking less damage, healers will be healing less %hp.

I hate when people say "JUST HEAL THEN YOU'RE A HEALER" in response to healer players being annoyed they have even less room for skill expression

THERE'S NOTHING TO HEAL. You can clear Savage raid content without EVER hard casting a single heal, OF COURSE healers care more about damage when 95% of their time is spent DPSing

Passive HP regen with the occasional instant aoe is more than enough for 99% of content, when people fuck up Savage mechanics they don't need healing; they just fucking die and need to be raised which is also instant with swiftcast

The only times you are actively hard casting heals is during large dungeon trash pulls, the fact that bosses do SIGNIFICANTLY less damage than trash is a fundamental design flaw that has gone years without being addressed and likely never will be. If you stop healing for ten seconds on dungeon trash someone's going to die or need to use major cooldowns, you can go 30 seconds without using any heals in a raid and everybody is fine

During ARR when Apocatastasis was BLM only and only affected fire, ice, and lightning spells, I always thought that WHM should have eventually got an equivalent for the other elements. Just so WHM could have some extra mitigation to catch up with SCH. But of course they just went and changed Apoc and gave it to all the other casters.

Their handling of WHM legitimately baffles me. They've said specifically that WHMs had a hard time using oGCDs due to not have a low cast spell (malefic) or an instant cast (ruin2/miasma2) and what do they give us? An instant cast Cure2 and Medica1. Another 2 healing SPELLS. Why on earth do we need 8 different healing spells??? How does this improve our already embarrassing toolkit? SCH has a grand total of 3 healing spells. Each one is for different situations and all 3 see use when Aetherflow abilities aren't enough (though now that they're gonna essentially have 3 more Indoms who knows if they'll even have to cast a single Physic or Succor at all). Now that we're getting better versions of previous spells the old ones will be used even less than they already were.

I mean, just sorta percentages. DPS jobs lose one or two skills, cool that's like 10% of the buttons. Healers lose one or two, that's like half their fucking damage skills.

They ain't worse, but they're certainly a lot more boring.

Honestly, I thought the Ruby Sea was pretty comfy whenever I did Hunts/Kojin Beast Tribe Quests/Kurenai's Collectables there. The vast sea in the sunlight was definitely beautiful to look at whenever I was flying around the zone.

He's a diplomancer which as anyone with tabletop experience will tell you is far more overpowered than flashy explosions. Especially since every single person except the warrior of light is completely incompetent in battle the noncombatants are by far the most useful. POTD/HOH solo clearer here. Actually it does delay their autos there's a brief pause between almost every enemy's attack and their next attack which will be staggered if they have to move. But they need to move and not just turn, they can instantly turn. Running a circle around them does nothing, but kiting will reduce their damage, and they will cast abilities as soon as they get in max range giving you even further kiting power. This is something that definitely isn't beneficial for a group though.

You can parry from any direction now, so now.

What it does do is make melee want to kill you.

Underwater fighting has never been good in any game and would definitely be shit in FFXIV too.

Sounds more like you don't want to face the fact that the game's inherent design has a multitude of flaws and shortcomings the devs do nothing to address.

It's not likely you will get far enough to get useful gear, if that's what you mean, so the only benefits are the fun of it and glamours. And that it'll be even harder to do it in ShB than it already is.

Because instant death is the only result punishing enough to make content difficult. Anything besides instant death might make healing a bit more interesting, but it also makes all content a cakewalk because everything except death can be recovered from easily. In order to introduce other punishments they would have to also start by making healing significantly weaker than it is now.

Besides, it's not like healers are assessing their changes with the framework that people make mistakes. It's all under the assumption of flawless play and that they get as much DPS time as possible.

Your healing in terms of % of target's max HP recovered per input is dramatically lower now though. Everyone got a good 1k more vit and tanks now have enhanced scaling on vit, but healers only got an extra 300 MND from BiS now and entry level 80 gear.

Even if damage output is the same, as in X-type of attack will typically hit for Y-% of target's HP, healers HAVE to dedicate more inputs to healing because just one healing oGCD is no longer going to be enough.

Abyssal Drain is better for the most part. It gets easier when you get Quietus and TBN, because TBN gives you access to Quietus, and Quietus keeps up your MP, which you spend on AD to keep your health up. Also a 2-step combo of syphon strike and normal C&S helps keep up your MP

Unleash is useless after you get abyssal drain unless you get the free cast proc for it from your ranged attack.

I don't understand how people can kill EX primals hundreds of times.
There's no way they always have access to buds to play with so a chunk of those totems must be from PF groups. How can they be arsed when PF farm groups all play like it's their first time doing the primal and they all leave after 1 or 2 kills or instantly as they get the thing they wanted. Obviously the worst person in the group also always wins the mount without fail. How can they do it?

You luck out with a PF group that racks up 10+ kills, scrape 1 or 2 kills from the frequent retard group kills, repeat. It's agonizing but if you don't have a dedicated FC/static, or if they do and they're not interested in grinding that out, it's your only real option.

Crit bonus is applied then direct hit bonus is applied on top of that, the bonuses aren't combined. a direct crit is about twice as strong as a regular, non-crit non-DH.

A crit is about +50% and a direct hit is +25% but their bonuses don't stack additively, they multiply together, so a direct crit is actually about 90% stronger than a normal attack.

The Lochs is one of the most detailed and interesting zones in the game but 90% of it is wasted because there's no content for it and all the quests are in one little part of the Ala Mhigan Quarter.

It's been great. I beat the msq, was unlocking dungeons, doing glamour, leveling of DoL classes. I think what made it so great for me was that the community was so friendly and patient. I've been bullied when I was younger, and whenever someone is being hostile to me, online or offline, I break out in cold sweat, tremble, and my entire body heats up as a response, and it's the reason I don't usually play any multiplayer or online game.

Then Orbonne happened. Or my fifth run of it. Yes, I was jumping during the battle. I wasn't sure if people knew where to go, and I'm bad at typing while moving, and that was my best attempt. I would have been fine if someone just pointed it out and told me to stop. Instead, when the party wiped due to something unrelated to my jumping, all the blame shifted to me. I started to sweat and tremble. I wanted to type, but I was scared. I'm still scared that someone in that alliance is gonna read this and yell at me, but I just want to explain what I was trying to do.

I don't think I can go back. When I got kicked from the alliance, the most I could do was teleport to home and exit the game.

Because of how you change between gearsets. If your helm inventory is:
ABCD
And you are wearing helm E, and change to B, you get:
AECD
And this gets more jumbled the more you change. If you want to keep it in order you need to configure a macro or you need to make a control gearset that you first change to and then change to anything else. I'm also pretty OCD.

I wait until the end of an expanision where everyone is 100+ ilvls above the primal and just farm them. 2-3 min runs and mount drops are more frequent so you don't constantly feel like killing yourself. Less wipes and failed groups as well.
