I disliked Xenoblade Chronicles X's combat, it just never clicked for me. The whole auto attack and QTE skill recharging thing didn't feel right. Is 2's combat similar enough that I wouldn't like it either, or should I give it a shot?

not sure about XC2 itself but I'm fairly confident you'd like Torna as the combat is fast-paced from the get go

i dislike the game, but i like tits

Xc2 combat was what made me give up on the game after about 12 hours in. It's slow as fuck. You basically repeat the same 4 actions over and over. And each fight takes an hour.

None of the games have good combat.

>didn't feel right
If you have only played X and no other videogame, who the fuck knows but you faggot? Give it a shot I guess, but it's basically the same thing.

>but it's basically the same thing.
not really. XC and XCX are basically the same thing but XC2 icombat s fairly different to its predecessors.

>not really
If you only played the XC games, then you probably think they are wildly different.

>And each fight takes an hour
So basically you have zero understanding of how any of the combat mechanics work and decided to blame the game instead of learning, got it.

>you probably think they are wildly different.
I don't though

Not different enough for me to care to distinguish it. Call of Duty games are all basically the same, I don't care if you're some fanboy who thinks one is different from another.

Each one of the three games is pretty wildly different.
Rooted in their ideas to make each character function pretty differently in 1, of making X as bad a possible, and have things be easilly exchangable thorugh anyone in 2,

Congratulations
You’re an illiterate nigger

To be fair, those combat mechanics are dumb as fuck, and I don't blame the guy for not caring about the stupid elemental whatevers.

Torna's combat is very different

>Torna's combat
Explain. The one time I played as him he played exactly the same as the main character.

If you're talking about how you modify the blade, that's not combat retard.

this game gets praised for it's variance in combat and how you can perfect it to your play style while still mixing things up and dealing with enemies in a number of ways that best suit you. you obviously either haven't played it or don't care for exploring your options that are given

you can break auto attacks to recharge specials faster, you can cancel auto attacks to increase special attack damage. special attacks come with varying abilities that can break, topple, launch and smash enemies. there's 3 classes with multiple stages depending on what combat style blades you equip all coming with their own elements, abilities they cast on you in battle and special attacks they inflict. you can customize your blades and your characters so you can fine tune battles to go the way you want them to, on top of all that you have devastating damage buffs through elemental orb breaks, mixing level 1-4 specials with driver combos and so on. all that and i only touched on say about 50% of what the combat in this game has to offer if you actually just spent a little time experimenting and reading what it tells you

>this game gets praised for it's variance in combat and how you can perfect it to your play style while still mixing things up and dealing with enemies in a number of ways that best suit you
Lmao what a fucking vague way of putting it.

bruh torna is the XC2 prequel

A) Torna's the prequel DLC.
B) Tora, the nopon driver, is a fucking tank. If you're playing them the same as DPS it's not the game's fault.

The combat basically boils down to getting elemental combos to stack elemental orbs then do a chain attack to decimate the enemy's health.

Oh Torna not Tora.

>If you're playing them the same as DPS
lol he plays exactly the same as the DPS user. Except now he has a tank role. Same with the Healer.

I actually was doing all of that. Which is why I simply ended with a simple sequence of action that I would just repeat indefinitely, regardless of enemies.
