Isn't anybody playing Outer Wilds? I pirated it and it's worth every penny. Great exploration. I don't like how all the aliens are referred to as "they", though, that seems genderfucky.

Anyways, does anybody know how to read the ship's log? Like, when is a rumor "complete", when it turns gray? Or when the question mark disappears? How can I tell when I'm done with a mystery/clue?

It's fun one hour after that just trial and error and boring as fuck

best game i've played in a long time

You must not play a lot of games

>Epic Store only
HA! Yeah no.

Loved the demo, didn't expect to come out ever. Downloading right now. Thanks Tim for the free copy!

There is a small yellow icon and a mention that you haven't discovered everything in a location if you missed some stuff. It's pretty easy to check for it.

Name a better game that came out in 2019

>I pirated it and it's worth every penny
You didn't exactly set a high bar there OP

Sekiro. It has actual gameplay compared to this glorified walking simulator.

>bloodsouls: qte edition (now with less features!)
>has actual gameplay

ima laffin

>I pirated it and it's worth every penny.
So its shit?

Got me there.

I still liked Outer Wilds, still pirated it though

No matter what game I named, you'd find some empty argument about it. Enjoy your walking simulator I guess.

spams l1

Tell me about the amazing gameplay of outer wilds. I'm waiting.

so when is it coming to steam out of curiosity?

>I don't like how all the aliens are referred to as "they", though, that seems genderfucky.
Not if you think about it for 30 seconds.
The aliens may or may not have any concept of sexual orientation. They also probably couldn't care in the slightest what humanity thinks about it.
You know, being aliens and not humans.

I'm waiting for a guide. I don't have the patience to sit through 20m adhd sprints trying to solve puzzles.

1 year, I think. That's usually how Epic deals last.

You're correct.

And thanks, I will.

does that include PlayStation?

Sell me on this. What other space sims is it like? Are we talking x levels of depth, or is it more like that EVERSPACE or FTL?

no mans buy

its the sense of adventure and how cool everything looks. Sekiro gets boring one you realize how the combat works cause there's no customization.

and there goes most of the fun

Heh, with a guide you'd ruin a lot of the experience. Just use them if you're stuck, but there's generally no need to rush.

There isn't much from what I've seen

There's a hand-crafted, heavily scaled down solar system you can just freely explore - the gimmick is that everything starts falling apart and getting fucked up the moment you start playing, and you only have about half an hour before the sun goes boom and fucks everything up, at which point the game is reset

It's set in a single solar system with very small (but handcrafted) planets with ridiculous weather patterns. Every 22 minutes the sun explode and your character's consciousness is sent back in time. Gameplay is mostly walking around trying to figure out why this is happening, with some platforming elements (mostly involving gravity or the lack of). I think it's interesting because the whole progression is due to you understanding how stuff work and using it. For example, you don't open shortcuts by finding a code at the end of a loop that you can use to open a door at the start of the next one, but you're given knowledge on how to exploit what you already had at the start of the game.

It's pretty fun but get spookies at time, basically free and about 10-15 hours long.

All exploration is trial-and-error, numbnuts. You pick a direction and go. If that doesn't work out, you pick another direction.

Except some of them wear dresses with bows and are obviously female as humans would perceive gender. And, the other aliens also have genders.

Fuck fishes.

Hipster journalist flavor of the month like Void Bastards. Get this shit out of here.

Remember when we used to have regular threads for this game when it was still a demo? Now we have anons that have literally never heard of it thinking it's just shills. Gonna pirate a copy and see if the full version is as good as the original. Bramble was the best planet.

to be honest it was almost half a decade ago, since then there was practically no news or updates, and the egs deal certainly didn't help

Brambles is an hellish place, you'll probably like it.

>Its been five years since Outer Wilds was popular on the board.
Fuck maybe I do need to leave this shithole.

you and me both buddy

remember: you're here forever

Maybe shitty exploration, good exploration takes into account level design so there are visual or otherwise clues that help you find your direction and points of interest.

I'm trying to get into the observatory on Brittle but keep falling into the black hole and it makes me want to be sick. Fuck it

Name one thing wrong with epic game store, origin is far worse.

Not him, but same answer I gave for why I don't bother with games that require Origin/Uplay/BethesdaStore/whatever

They're all almost always shitty and worse than steam. Most of them run like ass, too. Not really a big super steam fan because I literally just see it as the easiest to use and best digital game store available.

They're both shit, what's your point?

>land on the quantum moon
>get out of the ship and explore
>turn around and the ship is gone
I really, REALLY should have seen that coming.

Thank you for an answer beyond " it's shit "

Probably would have made Subnautica type of monies if they actually developed it during its prime. 5 years later? Just another unity game.
