why do people still think this looks good?

There’s a charm to the image on the left. Something a faggot zoomer would never understand

>players bitch about lack of graphical leaps for years
>RTX comes out as the first foray into consumer-grade ray tracing
>gets memed on by tech-illiterate retards who complain about blurry shadows

hopefully never

it had ray-tracing which is something gaming still doesn't have outside of a few experimental stuff on PC. Ray-tracing has been used in renders and all animated films and has been treated by gamers to be the pinnacle of graphics that gaming should reach so by that logic, renders and animated films from the 90s like Toy Story and that render look better than all modern games.

Obviously.
The lighting is just not possible with real-time rendering yet.

Ray tracing and realism are memes used to push games that have no substance under the pretty surface

No fucking way that's been there all these years

Do these renders give anyone else a weird sense of melancholy? Something about the look and colors gives me this weird feeling of nostalgia that’s different from normal nostalgia.

MOJANG

Not just you bro I know what you mean

what you're describing is my favorite feeling ever

low poly 3d SNES - N64 nostalgia feels

a time before technology made games capable of trying to imitate our world realistically so we got creativity as a child of limitation

People aren't complaining about "burry shadows" people are complaining about abysmal performance on $1000+ GPUs. It doesn't matter, that's where the industry is going whether people like it or not.

What?

holy shit

Something about the pictures just immediately triggers some feeling of imagination and happiness, but a sadness I will never really feel them as I once did.

N64 colors always remind me of trix yogurt I ate as a kid, just blending rich, pretty colors together
