MMO

I have an MMO itch I want to scratch and I have a lot of books and podcasts I want to listen to, it would be a perfect match.

What good MMO is there still?
What are you playing recently?

>that gold spammer in the chatbox
lmao, it just isn't an MMO without that shit is there, nowhere is safe.

FFXIV is comfy and about to get a new expansion if you can stomach subscription MMOs, otherwise there's not a lot of good options anymore. I'd try some Ragnarok private servers maybe.

FF14

The dungeons are 30 minutes long so it's a good listen to a podcast and if you do gathering shit you can finish an entire book because that shit gets mundane

>MMO
>good
LMOA. The only decent MMORPG was RO and keknewal ruined it.

FFXIV if you want a WoW clone with a story
Destiny 2 if you want to raid
TESO if you want a more western WoW clone

Wait for Classic WoW. Ignore XIV shills, they're desperate to get people into their dying MMO.

FFXIV has the depth of a puddle and barely requires any social interaction. It makes a mockery of both the "multiplayer" and "RPG" components of MMORPGs. Unfortunately the genre has been raped so hard by the casual crowd that XIV is probably the best thing that has come out in years. I'd pick a random old MMORPG and start playing that.

EVE Online
Black Desert Online
Life is Feudal MMO (but don't play this solo)

kek look who is talking wow is fucking dead

SWTOR

Dauntless seems like it could scratch the MMO itch. I know its not an MMO but seems to have that style of play.

New western MMO when? Korean trash is all the same.

>Dauntless
An MH-like?
Why not play MH then?

I'm looking forward to Westeroscraft MMO but they have to finish building the map first. If you don't mind Minecraft and waiting for a while then it's something to consider in the future but for now, there's nothing very good. If you just want a MMO to zone out while listening to podcasts then RuneScape seems perfect for that.

Unironically OSRS. It has a vibrant community, super popular and quite fun. I would recommend you try WoW Classic also when it comes out

None, I repeat, NONE (0) of the new mmorpgs are worth your time. You always end up quitting within weeks, maybe one month at best. The interest is no longer keeping the player invested so the games are trash

This

I am playing Neverwinter. Level 23 so far. It's alright, but it could have a little more abilites.

City of Heroes.

I second this, there's a ton of grind to do, like a ton, so every time you login you can get a little progress and there's enough extra layers of vanity to keep you busy if you're ultra neet autist, and it's less mind numbing than most mmos. Short variety of bosses, but will keep you busy a few weeks for sure.

Wait for Classic WoW in two months. XIV is good but it doesn't feel like a MMO at all.

>Dauntless
>Epic Store exclusive
Fucking chinks I swear.

I guess I'll try, it's free after all.

Dauntless is free at the low cost of your dignity and personal information, versus the enormous hurdle of societal shame thrust upon you when you pirate a game such as MH:W.

ephinea PSO BB

Why?

classic wow

These threads are always full of low-pop shills trying to manipulate newbies into their trap.

FFXIV and Runescape are pretty solid as far as modern MMOs go.

Ex-WoW player waiting for Classic here.

I'm enjoying ESO right now. It does a lot of things right that WoW fucked off on, like crafting and player housing. I heard FF14 does those well, too, but unfortunately the graphics and pvp just aren't for me.

>got ESO gifted on PS4
>no bots or goldsellers around
>barely any chat activity either

I can't get over how shit character customisation is in FF14. There's like four faces to choose from. The fuck is that?

>BDO
Vomit inducing,my man.No level cap and RNG enchanting are HUGE red flags and it seems the newest MMO that's being shilled called AIR has the same features which is a shame.

Ironically and unironically GW2.Apart from raids and CM fractals it doesn't require that much input from you and you can listen to podcasts and e-books without a problem. You can even engage in mass PvP(WvW) if that's your thing.

City of Heroes.

Attached: unknown-11.png (345x549, 290K)

Don't fall for the:
GW2 shills for shilling a game that has an uninteresting shit story and forces you to just walk around and do random events to level to lvl 80.
FFXIV shills for shilling a game that is basically 90% fetch quests, 1/3rd of the main story is shit and artificial time gate keeping on obtaining endgame gear. And you also fall asleep because of how mind numbingly boring the game is pre lvl 60-70, which will only worsen once the new expac comes out.

I haven't really played any MMORPGs since Nostalrius died.
I want one that has actual open world movement and shit to do in the world, rather than fast travel between instanced zones, and using menus to teleport places, like in Destiny.

Also, don't fall for the;
-WoW: Bleeding subs edition
-ESO poorly written faux Skyrim combat

mmos that focus on instanced content are cancer. change my mind.

Everything is 100% instanced, you have to go out of your way to meet and talk to people, you don't really have to interact outside of high end raiding, everyone TPs all over the place, you often can't help people with their quests,...
Its just all the faults of modern MMOs crammed into this game, the world just doesn't feel alive. . But as I said I think XIV is still a good game because some classes are fun to play, MSQ is pretty good especially around HW, there are a lot of good bosses to discover and the music is 11/10.

> Classic WoW
Kill yourself incel

>change my mind.
I can't. How are they even MMOs if you remove the first M?

Have sex

Been playing strict-f2p LOTRO lately (playing it like a boxed RPG that just happens to have other people running around), but the XP curve/power creep is so steep that I'll only play it during seasonal events because of event XP. Which means that tomorrow I'll be going back to playing Shroud of the Avatar.

Seriously, LOTRO has good story and awesome immersion, with crappy tab-based combat (if you have a friendly NPC targeted, you won't fight back at the orc ripping your face off), a crafting system that was phoned in, and various other systems with bad design/UI that you are forced to use to progress in the main quest line. Quests also require you to solo against way too many waves of mobs for no good reason.

But that steep power curve means you'll be able to bulldoze over that content 2-3 levels later... unless it's an escort quest with a suicidal tissue-paper NPC. Event XP is scaled to your level, so you can usually get at least half a level a day during seasonal events. And that's why I'll be taking a break from it tomorrow.

>tfw never got further than around ~30 on most characters because f2p

man LOTRO dungeons were so brutal.... I had an overleveled friend, mind somewhat around the level of the dungeon, and then some randoms, we couldn't even get past the mid boss for literal hours, and getting people into the dungeons was a huge chore. We did all sorts of kiting and the boss just kept bringing more op adds and being a total cunt.

It also sucked that the best way of leveling was doing some sort of mini defense instance were you fight waves and defend a keep, but it was even worse exp if you had someone with you.

I really liked how a few classes were unique like the captain, but meeting people was rare, having to grind store points to unlock quests in higher level areas was shit, and yeah it over tuned as fuck specially in group content.

is there any mmo with at least decent combat and good exploration/world? The only game that comes to mind is... well, nothing.

FFXIV

Honestly you're kind in an awkward spot rn.

As far as modern stuff goes XIV is about the only decent one left and that's more lobby based in all honesty as there's very little reason to go out into the world outside of gathering and levelling. It gets an expansion at the end of the month.
I'd have said EVE too but it plays very different from most games and got bought out by pearl abyss so expect bullshit monetisation down the road. It's also incredibly hands off and PvP focused.

Older stuff there is City of heros private servers.
Wow classic comes in August some time. Private servers still exist now if you need the itch scratched right now but accept that the community is probably gonna be crap and russian.

Right, because the "free" region content in LOTRO only goes to level 30. That's also when XP-per-kill stops keeping up with XP-to-level. You can grind some kinds of crafting to about 40 before the XP-to-level outpaces XP-per-craft. I've reached level 77 doing just epic quests and seasonal events.

And really the only reason I have that kind of dedication is because I played FFXI before 2010, and I needed a challenge. I'm playing hobbit burglar, which makes some things a little harder, but getting around stuff with stealth is FUN. Since I'll never be doing raid shit, I don't care that burglar is (apparently) irrelevant for raids.

>It also sucked that the best way of leveling was doing some sort of mini defense instance were you fight waves and defend a keep, but it was even worse exp if you had someone with you.
I sort of feel sorry for people who hit 120 then decide that they should start over again on an alt. I'm in there to play the story, not the Generic MMO Raid Content (tm).

Oh and I forgot to mention the fun of slot-based inventory combined with microtransactions. Mobs drop all sorts of different-adjective junk which just fills up your limited number of slots, just buy a few more slots goy! And so much clothing/deco content is character or account bound, yeah thanks guys. One epic quest (Isengard) gives you SIX pieces of character-bound costume clothing.

MMOs suck just play PSO

Really the only thing worth looking forward to is Lost Ark, and that shit isn't even close to a western release. You can try BDO if you like grindy RNG bullshit with fun combat. There is no good MMO out right now though.

Mabinogi

ah yes... vanilla.... asmongold server.... layer 45.... home.... i have to remember to save up so i can enter the sub-only raid lottery

Wait for Pantheon Rise of the Fallen. It's the only MMORPG that might be good in the near future.

Star Wars Galaxies

Ever Quest II

The Saga of Ryzom

See, I can punch bellow the belt too.

Attached: the_saga_of_ryzom_conceptart_6TtjT.jpg (800x600, 64K)

All MMOs worth mentioning kinda suck for different reasons.

I'm into XIV right now because I'm 4 years and 2, soon to be 3 expansions deep, but there's a lot of dull base game content to wade through and all the quests are pretty standard go-here-click-this-kill-that. The big boy bossfights are where all the production value, effort, and mechanics are. Free trial's worth trying.

MMOs suck ass. I wish I hadn't spent so many years of my life on MMOs. I would have been better off if I had just picked a different hobby and made irl friends instead of picking mmos with internet friends that are gone after I stopped subscribing.

Black Desert or ESO?

I want a fun MMO and they look quite good

I didn't liked FFXIV

if u want grind and pvp bdo
if u want that and everything else teso

>punch bellow the belt
Um, user... have you been reading /coxg/ since about a month ago?

Guild wars 1. Planetside 2.

Unironically WoW if you're a new player. I have a friend who got in recently and are loving the shit out of it. The endgame isn't at the peak right now, in but don't let the retarded fanbase convince you that their current disdain for the game is anything less than them being sick of a game they've played for almost 15 years straight.

I doubt it's the same at all, but I'll look into it.

Classic.

Attached: 1510454687120s.jpg (219x250, 7K)

Skip FFXIV and don't even bother with the free trial

The game is infested with degenerated ERP/Trannies.

Last week I treid it for like a day and only got things like ;

>owo
>futa?
>cute cattooo :3 :3 ~
>uwu
> have discord?
>wanna see pics of me wearing a cute dresss?

Apparently you haven't. Unknown person, probably dev, a few weeks before closure, dumped the entire source code and database to some hue-lord who turned it into his SEKRIT NO GRILLS ALOUD server, and used his position as r/coh mod to contain leaks. It's the real code, aside from some DB issues where said shitlord made mods to the database without keeping the original version around, so it wouldn't work with the source code dump.

no you didn't

salty tranny.

literally the only answer, until maybe pantheon comes out. new server launching in the Fall.

Nice to hear that someone stepped forward. I'll have to wait until I get back from vacation to check this out, but it sounds promising. Thanks for the info.

I enjoyed Tera and ESO but they take a lot of attention, I'm playing ffxi right now and really enjoying it.

Stay away from BDO unless you literally want to play it as a second job. There's literally nothing to do apart from grinding mobs and getting PK'd.The game is built from the ground up to be as inconvenient as it can to force you to buy inventory slots, weight and pets. Then ontop of that you have the enchanting system and lifeskills.Things that no matter what you will never get a respectable amount unless you literally no-life and pay.And what do you get for that?A PVP systems that's based on who lands the first CC and then you kill them and a combat system that looks great at first but the more you play you realize how spammy and shallow it truly is.

Switched to XIV recently. Nice to have a game where you can just turn off your head and listen to audiobooks.

Osrs
Ffxiv if you can stomach trannies and shitters every now and then
Wow classic in August

>lifeskills
more like no-life skills amirite?

Attached: cartman-wow.jpg (1280x720, 81K)

Everything is instanced, it feels like you are on rails most of the time
No social interaction required at all unless you attempt the hard content
Game looks great, has excellent soundtrack and the “hard” content is actually challenging
It just doesn’t feel like a world, osrs feels better, maybe classic once it’s out

idk i'm playing as Ninja and i kinda like the fighting right now

level 30

is it getting shittier? should I quit and move to TESO?

Just play Classic you dumb bitch

classic wow is the only mmo ever made that isn't a complete piece of shit

Any osrs players here?
What’s with the community and players suddenly barging in to help
Decided to give the game a try, I was leveling blacksmithing and a fag came, asked if I needed help, then handed me 100k and some items then told me to contact him if I needed help
This is like the 3rd time this has happened in 2 days

I thought this was a meme but having actually played the game i swear to god I was the only one playing a male character. Literally everybody I saw was either a catgirl or one of those loli things. I did one of the mandatory dungeons and the only guy who spoke spammed some ascii catboy thing every time we killed a boss and when we entered and exited the dungeon. And the game is filled with all the shit people hate nu-wow and modern mmos for yet somehow its ok because muh catgirls uwu. It's a complete soulless piece of shit and anybody shilling it on Yea Forums should kill themselves.

Play Guild wars 2

> playing as a cat girl
Fucking degenerates

Bdo

I like the player economy of OSRS but man it's barely an MMO. You do basically everything by yourself and all you can do is just chat and trade with people. I also don't like how the game is basically designed around you barely paying attention to it while you just grind for 10 hours and watch tv. It doesn't feel like you're playing a real game its more like those idle clicker rpg games you see on phones and steam. It's a very limited game and I can't enjoy it like i did when i was 10.

Dying to bees simulator

Attached: ded.png (491x424, 522K)

Sell/redpill me on TESO. How does the skill/class system even work, surely it can't be identical to the mainline series where balance doesn't matter? Is it as lorerape as Yea Forums says? I just want a comfy adventure for when I'm too tired for anything else, would probably be playing solo unless one of the lads decides to join in

I'm in the same boat. I'm looking forward to classic wow but in the meantime I'm just fucking around leveling on the opposite faction on a private server.

Play everquest on mangler until the shitty expansions come out and they open another TLP.

thing I like about BDO is I can play the parts that I personally do like and ignore the retarded aspects. but if you like PvP you might be fucked.

I been playing ff14 for 6ish years and I haven never gotten any thing like this.

Most of what you wrote is a flat out lie. Its fine to dislike a game but dont lie about it just to discourage others from trying it out.

Fuck off shill everything he wrote is true.
t. i actually played the game to 70

You aren't going to find this unless you are on the right servers and looking for it but eastern MMOs are filled to the brim with trannies. I do ERP and the mentall illness permeating BDO/XIV isn't hard to miss.

Attached: 241234234.jpg (800x600, 214K)

i would love ff14 for the comfyness but god damn the combat is so fucking boring.

You better turn it on when you fighting bosses.

dragon nest has the best mmo combat i have ever played
to bad it's pretty much dead
BDO is a massive grindfest, its not worth it

8/8

I'm probably gonna sound like I'm defending ffxiv here, I'm not but whatever.
There are 4 major differences that makes xiv better than nu-wow (at the moment)
>Class design isn't complete shit, but that might change once shadowniggers comes out
>Content actually has a difficulty curve instead of going ''Mind numbingly easy/boring too the point of making you retarded'' directly too ''Oh, did your PC stutter? Fuck you fag U DED, back too grinding Gold/AP 4 U!''
>They have not gotten to the point of butchering all of their other game mechanics (like crafting or leveling) just for the sake of it yet. Although, leveling has been on a steady decline since the end of heavensward
>They add side content almost every major patch that atleast gives you the option of not raiding unless you want the gear/story. Atleast until you are ''done'' with it (I'm looking at you blue mage)

ok fuck i want to play TESO

Which edition should i buy
should i sub to it?

also the popping in is just cancer.

>anyone shitting on my favourite game is just baiting
love this cope so much

But everything is instanced
There is barely any social interaction except discussing strats in high end raids
And everyone does tp everywhere
Only point that wasn’t true is the “not being able to help others”

>''Oh, did your PC stutter? Fuck you fag U DED, back too grinding Gold/AP 4 U!''

Attached: 1513351625821.jpg (362x346, 38K)

the combat is even more boring than wow combat

Crowfall

Why was storm blood such a shit expansion?
Shit music, shit story and meh content

do people really find ffxivs 5000 button rotation autism fun

I actually liked the quests and how you unlock flying.
Boss fights and dungeons in general are indeed the highlight, even the lower level ones have their own gimmick that makes them distinct.

That is actually impossible. It might be slower (unless you are playing NIN) but your actions in combat has more impact than it does in nu-wow. Slower /= worse.

I've never played XIV and I know nothing about it, but saying it's dying while recommending WoW is pretty ironic.

Besides, it can't possibly be worse than WoW. I don't know why you autistic retards keep pretending WoW was ever good, as if it wasn't always one of the worst MMOs out there that singlehandedly ruined the entire genre.

Don't sub, play the free content first. See if you like it.

Game gets pretty redundant which is why I quit but overall it's enjoyable for a while.

Attached: 306130_20181126234722_1.png (1920x1080, 3.48M)

It's not that difficult to get used to and much better than the mobification of mmos.

Does FFXIV actually have character options other than character creation and clothes? I can't remember how far I got in ARR (I think around the quest where you're trying to find out how everyone beat Titan and you learn that the strategy was "just zerg rush him and have the new guys kill the brainwashed people"). The closest thing to character options I remember were occasionally given a point you could put into one of 6 stats or something. Other than that, being able to switch between any class and level them all up without any tradeoff meant that (minus those very few bonus stats) pretty much every character could theoretically be the same since you could potentially learn every single skill and class in the game.

same, that dude is either making shit up or just playing a slutglammed cat on balmung quicksands

Why do you play MMO, user?
For me It was loneliness; the need for attention and the mindless grind to plug away my life
But I am no longer interested in them. Other games offer far better experiences amd do not ask for you to spend hundreds of hours for a small sense of satisfaction. Check your playtime in your favorite mmo. 200 days of playtime? You could've used that time to learn a new language, study arts, get fit etc

Attached: 1558928894438.jpg (879x720, 132K)

It's insane the level of free marketing people like you do for XIV. Imagine announcing that a game is filled to the brim with ERP on fucking Yea Forums of all places, one of the few places where most people pick games with their dick rather than their brain.
If this is actually a massive viral marketing campaign, then that would explain a lot.

Yup. Calculated rotations opposed to spamming the same key is far better

I'm alluding too the fact that 99% of the mechanics in nu-wow is just DDR:''DONT STAND IN THE FUCKING FIRE'' Edition

FFXIV is not much better in this regard, but atleast they have some unique mechanics and the DDR shit is actually well telegraphed, unlike nu-wow where the 20 different circles on the ground all just start looking the same unless you have commited the entire fight too muscle memory.
How Blizz have yet to figure out how too do telegraphed attacks after they have been doing it for the past decade is a fucking mystery too me.

lmao this is a pretty good false flag attempt
erptranny faggots like you have all already played the game by now and posts like that just let the rest know the game should be avoided

It's a shame, I'd actually give it another try like I did with DDO, but the fear of the whole thing going to shit in and closing in 1 or 2 years make me afraid to commit.

Are MMOs the cause of increase in trans?

Attached: 1559580971108.png (804x1384, 1.94M)

nope. And even then all jobs have an optimal way to play so everyone caps out at being exactly the same.
Glamour is endgame however and honestly I think it has the best selection out of any mmo

The game feels fantastic up to lvl 55-56 then the grind hits and gear is more needed. Then you will need boss gear and enchanted up to DUO-TRI then full TRI-TET boss gear to be somewhat competitive in pvp or reach better grind spots since you'll be farming the desert for literally months.
Honestly as someone who played the game and reach lvl 61 with TRI boss gear it's literally a waste of time unless you're willing to spend money.Sure you can reach "endgame" which is full TET boss gear(~5000 hours) of endless grinding shitty mobs that die in in milliseconds or you could spend at least $100 and get a few upgraded pets, weight and inventory slots. And you're still not geared enough to be anywhere near competitive in PvP if that's your thing.
Honestly mate it's not even worth it.

Level 30 is like a 1 hour grind for anyone who knows the game. High level grind is like 1 week to get one level, and then it jumps to a month and then it jumps so much people just stop doing it unless they're streamers or no life koreans. I had so many people stuck at softcap with actually good gear, and then they blew it all playing tet roulette and quit.

Literally nothing to play at the moment. Wow next patch is a month away and so is ff14 next expansion.
Eso is a joke game made by a joke company.

Vanilla has a great amount of content and maps and should be pretty cheap.

erptranny faggots are born every day, and you're doing a really good job making sure they're exposed to this game as soon as possible, keep it up

a combination of social homosexual acceptance and anime becoming mostly about cute girls is what lead to the tranny pandemic

is that why it the most views on twitch than any other game at it's peak? kys auty.

Glad I quit then holy shit, I'll take fucking up my character stats and skills over having the same character as everyone else any day,

BDO gets very shitty after awakening. Don't bother with it unless you actually enjoy grinding hundreds of hours for almost no reward

I tried FFXIV. It is fun, but the person I played with quit.
Also I don't like the p2w elements of it. You already pay a monthly fee, have to pay extra $ for retainers, and then their meme store that also has purchases for $

there are 1000x more people who are just curious about different mmos than there are uwu im a catboy mentally ill faggots
its an acceptable loss

How come all mmos have such shitty pvp?

Is there any MMO that honestly isn't p2w?
I just want to have fun and feel on the same footing as everyone else. I don't mind subscriptions.

I already played WoW years ago, and RS. Don't want to play those again

BnS actually has good pvp

>FF14
>p2w

Attached: B265C7B2-E3C4-43BC-9B4F-A3D37C74E9AF.jpg (500x339, 71K)

it is repetitive and boring

How is it boring compared to WoW?

Yeah it seems pretty godlike for korea where everyone is on low ping but if you're elsewhere and don't have great ping you're fucked.

Retainers literally are p2w though.

because people somehow got the idea that pvp should be some balanced meta gay shit rather than something that made the world feel alive and dangerous

FFXIV is good. It's flashy as hell, has dull cutscenes without voice acting for the most part, and almost no character is memorable, but who the FUCK cares about MMO stories anyway?
>Every class has something unique to it, for better or for worse
>Crafting and gathering professions have rotations, making it more than PRESS BUTTON, WAIT FOR REWARD
>Boss fights are well designed in that if you die, it is your fault 99% of the time due to extremely obvious telegraphing

As someone who finally left WoW because it's getting worse, I regret not trying FFXIV earlier. The absurd flashiness of everyone's attacks pushed me away at first, but after giving it a try with that free trial that lets you play EVERY class (except for expansion classes) up to level 30, I decided to go with it and haven't regretted it yet. Community is just as ass as any other MMO, so it's not too hard to get used to.

Technically, if you don't pay, you can't play. So it's P2W in the most literal sense.

How?

I can't disagree with that sentiment but even with the latency issues the equalized 1v1 and 3v3 was godlike

It's not really an MMO though. WoW hasn't been an MMO for years either before you try and all me wowfag or some shit. This reads like a shill post.

>Twitch views
>Ever being relevant
Go too bed zoom-zoom, you have school tomorrow.

With that said, have you actually played the game the past month? I got a free month from farming gold before BfA came out and EVERY city in the three most populated servers in the EU are ghost towns (Even Stormwind on Argent Dawn is ded, Goldshire is still alive, but half of it's usual visitors are missing). The only time you will ever see anyone is when you are afk in Boralus and even then you might only see like 10 people running past you in the span of 4 hours.

Thing is in FF14 what do you win at? I’m legitimately confused.

>How
They give you access to more room, more sell slots. You could argue they also literally go out and just gather shit for you too.

They are a necessity if you want to play a crafter in any capacity. You are PAYING for an advantage over other people.

I played to 70, and had all my crafters to 70 so it isn't like I am just spouting total nonsense. You are at a disadvantage compared to anyone else that has more retainers than you. An advantage that they got from PAYING money.

It's definition of p2w

Yeah dude my retainer brought in a dye I'm winning

The community, the sense of adventure. How some actually have really neat gameplay ideas that you wish even single players games would do.

>its an ffxivfag thinks people mean retail instead of classic when they say wow because they know they can't compete with classic post

ESO and BDO are both good podcast mmo's. BDO is especially good if you work on life skills or combat grinding.

>talking about something you like about in the game is shilling
Mate you’re a retarded.

p2w doesn't mean the sense of literal winning.
It means pay for advantage over others that did not pay.

If you can't see how that isn't p2w then you are what is wrong with gaming

Meaningfull sense of progression and achievement.
Nothing quite like the feeling after the clan I'm playing with wins the 5 hour long 4-way mass pvp fight over some endgame epic boss, kills the boss, the clan leader gives the epic loot piece to my group for being good and they put it on me.

And WoW somehow isn't? You are not making a lot of sense here user.

Nice larp

maybe if you were on reddit, but Yea Forums? do you really believe people here aren't constantly thinking with their dick? you do you, I guess, if you think this is a good way to spend your time, though if you're just a shill then I'm assuming you're at least being paid decently

It isn't a game by definition if there is no 'win' and 'lose' condition. In the case of MMOs, I would consider clearing all the content and getting the best gear 'winning'.

>I have a lot of books and podcasts I want to listen t
How about you focus and concentrate on the books instead of cutting your attention towards them because you feel compelled to press buttons while doing any activity

not everybody is a mentally ill tranny degenerate like you are
stop projecting

>Gil has any use
Nigga you dumb
No you dummy. P2w means buying power over people who can’t get it without paying real money.

What's the appeal of theme-park MMOs with no open world PvP whatsoever and 90% of content being instanced?
I could never get into them.
Sure, the 'MUH HARDXCORE FULL LOOT ON DEATH' MMOs are dumb as fuck, but shouldn't there be more games that strike a middle ground at least?

>meaningful sense of progression
You move on a threadmill to catch up to other players just to grind the same shit

The problem with most MMOs nowadays is that they’re built like singleplayer games with other people running around. None of the game design choices are built to only work in a multiplayer setting. Games like Rust are better MMOs than most actual MMOs, despite technically not being one. As all the fun is derived from interacting with other players.

Attached: E578D2B9-25D4-4E0A-B7A6-13E6FFADB819.jpg (900x900, 146K)

WoW is for faggots

Instanced content means you're not waiting an hour to get shit done because there are other players, and instanced content allows the enemy AI to be more complex. Ever see BDO AI? It's literal dogshit

>fear of the whole thing going to shit in and closing in 1 or 2 years
That's kinda why I went for it now, I just want to explore the geography and play through the main quest once, it's certainly not a good enough game to "live" there.

And the economy is total shit, the only reason I paid the LP to remove the retarded money cap was because the later bank size upgrades were larger than that, and the constant "remove the limit, goy!" nags. I never really needed more than the 2G cap otherwise. My money level basically never went down, there's nothing to spend it on in a game where almost everything is bought with a hundred different no-trade reward tokens. (also another "buy it goy" opportunity, take them out of your limited inventory for only ten dollah!)

>deflecting that hard
reee p2w doesn't matter because gil doesn't matter!!!!!!!
Any advantage over a non paying player is p2w

Nice trips user, but from the rest of my post, wasn't it obvious I didn't play a boring, theme-park wow clone?

I recently jumped into a wow private server. Never dips below 9k people and 7x rates. Kills the tedious grind.

I have been playing project gorgon, it needs a lot of polishing on the animations but besides that its pretty fun. But I would not really recomend it unless you have $40 to throw away.

Thank you Pete.
now plz gib me the loong slep.

because your average mentally ill zoomer faggot now wants everything to be catered to him and he never wants to be inconvenienced or feel bad and talking to people gives him anxiety so he wants everything to be railroaded and automatic so now every mmo caters to this philosophy

>back in the day in Lineage 2
>one of the most important quests in the game requires killing a raid boss to complete
>no instances exist, it's all world bosses and open pvp
>quest is so important clan are coming out in full-force and duking it out over it
>only 1 party of 9 people can get the quest each time
>people would sometimes wait for months to get it
See, for me, that's what MMOs were all about. Proving yourself useful enough to the clan to be in the 'last hit party'. And then hoping the clan wins the mass PvP, noone else pulls the raid while you're fighting other clans, or something else crazy happens.

Gil doesn’t matter at all, unless you think buying dyes/minions is p2w.

That sounds like a unfun job

FFXIV and WoW (not classic)

Skill distribution is more equipment based now. There's meta builds but some jobs have optional differences like more skill speed.

>MMO in the current age
Why do this to yourself? Why the fuck would you have any interest in anything that isn't Final Fantasy XIV or World of Warcraft? You know for a fact all those Korean MMO will try to take your money and have unfair treatments towards player who don't spend money. You know this is a recurring thing for those games. And yet... here you fucking are still looking for the next best Korean MMO.

If that's not masochism then the earth isn't round. And if you think FFXIV and WoW are shit games then honestly, just quit MMOs altogether because you're not missing anything. No MMO has innovated since WoW and FFXIV is a WoW clone: Anime Edition.

What happened?

It isn't even about the gil, it's about all the extra space that non payers don't have access to. They also have monthly fee for their dumb phone app as well don't they.
You can still like the game, but it does have p2w elements. Don't know why you are defending it so hard

You can get all the best shit without paying for anything by just subbing, which is mandatory.
Pay To Win implies that you will be better than anyone who didn't pay, no matter what. This isn't the case here since you can't get anything more than what you have available already without paying money.
It's only P2W in the literal sense, which means you can't literally play if you don't pay, hence you cannot win.

>h game threads aren't constantly up with 300+ replies
>tits/ass fanart threads aren't constantly up with sometimes 500+ replies
>overwatch threads full of lewd shit at all times
Everyone here is pretty degenerate and likes videogames and it seems like those 2 things are pretty much all you need to get into ERP circles. Face it, the more you expose XIV as the massive erp shitfest that it is, the more people you're gonna bring on. Most "normal" people here are gonna be solo players anyways, so they won't give a shit about ERP degeneracy because they'll just avoid it.

People get addicted to the gameplay loop and the idea of being "better" than other people through gear but they don't want any of the actual social elements that used go along with that. So now you get MMOs like FFXIV where theres people running around but they all live in their own little bubbles instead of being a part of the larger world.

>massive clan wars over meaningfull objectives aren't fun

it hasn't actually been released yet

> Games like Rust are better MMOs than most actual MMOs

This shit is so true. Also kill me Pete

OSRS is also a great mmo if you want to grind for years

well the thing is for the most part thats true for mmos in general. Though sometimes you can have 2 or 3 different useful specs its the same as having 2 or 3 different slightly copy pastad classes that all have 1 optimal way to play them. Its kind of a delusion that you can be unique in the gameplay department of any mmo, but its much easier to be unique visually

>wait for months to do something
that sounds fucking awful.
When you go outside and you want to play with your friends does it take some obscene amount of time to accomplish? No, you and your buddies get together, you play and then you go.
What you're describing isn't a game, it's pure autism for socially inept losers who don't have jobs so they can afford to waste their freetime like that.

I play that too brudda. I actually appreciate xiv for feeling like a genuine multiplayer RPG. Everyone in mmo threads have a hate boner for it tho.
I can unsub from it and feel at peace. No obligation to grind to have fun

Attached: 11fccae066b7e8a804a04774a8ffb073c9e6fce7_hq.jpg (600x454, 63K)

No one wants to grind for years though, so I don't understand why you'd even bring that up as if it's a positive thing.

People have different definitions and to some any advantage which is paid for is p2w. Would you personally call a game which had a tremendous grind like 500+ hours to even get decent gear but someone else can pay for the best gear, p2w? You can technically earn it in game but realistically most won't even get close and the only people competing are whales.

XIV is clearly one of the most populated MMOs on the market right now, all you say is "no i'm not shilling for the game because I said so!", while the game remains one of the most talked about MMOs here, because of conversations like this one

In the same place as the OP
>EVE Online
GOD I fucking hate the direction the game took
It's infuriating to think I spent more than 2 years playing that shit
>Black Desert Online
No. Its enhancement system was grindy to the point that even P2W whales were having second thoughts about it
>Dauntless
Fine and dandy before, but they recently switched from their OWN FUCKING LAUNCHER to ebin

I miss WC3 custom maps, too

Because it's a different kind of MMO. All other mmo's the game really only "starts" when you hit max level and start doing dungeons, raids, etc.

OSRS the journey is the game not the end

for one thing, it seems like servers cant handle detailed hit boxes so attacks just hit everything within a ten ft circle

But user, I never liked theme-parks. I wish for something that will finally get me out of L2 private servers.
How is that even an MMO then? It literally defies the first 2 Ms.
Wait for months for one of the most important things in the game. Or get it first try because your group is important enough to the clan.
It's called having a community that shapes the game.
I only hate on it when people start going on about how it's the best MMO ever and other such bs.

You do know that there is more to the game than completing that one quest user?
That is just one option of many. But I guess you are one of those ADD fags who have never known the joy or learning how to play an instrument or learning how to do anything more complex than just pressing buttons until funny colors flash on the screen.

The inherent problem with mmos is even though retarded NEETs claim "oh they hand everything to you asap" this is actually the opposite of reality.
MMOs at their core are still designed for people with too much free time on their hands and it makes the whole affair a chore. The reality of the modern mmo is that people just want to hop in, play with their friends and fuck around, but there are too many barriers to doing that.
>forced story quests
>gear limitations
>level limitations
and most importantly hotkey combat is piss boring, if you could take something like monster hunter world and just add cities where everyone can walk and see each other, make the game an actual open world instead of lobbies and loading screens then bam. You'd have the perfect mmo

>MMOs at their core are still designed for people with too much free time on their hands and it makes the whole affair a chore. The reality of the modern mmo is that people just want to hop in, play with their friends and fuck around, but there are too many barriers to doing that.
I'd say the opposite nowadays. I wish they were designed more for neets. More grind and less p2w

Mainly because they're bigger than single player games. There's more content, more variety, more places to explore, more things to try out. Plus that there are other people to do stuff with and chat.

Shame, the actual gameplay is complete dogshit in most cases.

hol' up senpai!
TESO is a very NPC-ish mmo. Its your standard bethesda experience: everyone plays it, says its good, but the very moment your brain starts functioning you realize how many wrong is with it, in fact this comes off right the moment you enter combat. I tried really fucking hard to get immersed and every time I noticed that the whole game feels like a B-type movie trying to monkey what has been done already. Its really hard to describe it, but the game feels cheap, if you played a lot of games you can feel this kind of thing. You can feel that unexperienced people worked on it, that they don't understand how to make a good zones, good writing, spells, mechanics, combat etc. Its just they seen what has been worked out for earlier MMOs take it and copy paste it. The game works, its just it has that the developers threw out any originality and they played the safest bet possible. The game doesn't bring anything new and/or exciting to the table.
This is fine for some people, a lot of them uses it as a substance for WoW, hence these people want the same shit over and over again. You can buy it and give it a try without a sub, but don't expect anything big, since it doesn't have any charm or something to get hooked on.

This. GW2 is the only good mmo now.

wow and ffxiv are both big grinds, ffxiv especially is total cancer with their msq bullshit

They are simple, though I understand how they can be a little overwhelming to the typical retail WoW player’s simple mind

>wow and ffxiv are both big grinds, ffxiv especially is total cancer with their msq bullshit
I understood why you would dislike MMO in your previous post since you don't like tab-combat. But now you just sound like the kind of faggot that just plays games for the ''ending'' rather than the ''journey''.

XIV msq isnt a grind if you enjoy the story, as many did post arr

I'm currently level 40 and all the story quests are "go there, interact with this, kill the 2 mobs that spawns"
But at least you only have to do this once

Do you know how many times I've seen someone say anything about Black Desert Online and then multiple people insert their copypasta reply? it's ridiculous. It's to the point I don't know what real life is because I feel like I'm stuck in some time paradox. Black Desert is good for a bit but garbage in the long run. Gameplay ends up being staring at the auction house indefinitely. You win by having the best internet connection both on the AH and in PvP. Trash.

The Secret World is absolute KINO MMORPG

Maplestory
Vindictus
Mabinogi
ArcheAge
Black Desert

Every now and then I see people say gw2 is good but I don't see why. Wherever I look no one actually talks about the gameplay.

I've been having an almost unstoppable desire to start playing FF14 again. I stopped after hitting max level in Heavensward after the "two dungeons until you are geared enough for two more dungeons then repeat" gameplay made me lose all interest.

I'm sure things will be the same if I jump into shadowbringers, but damn if I don't want to do it anyway. Someone talk me out of spending 80 bucks to pay 15 bucks a month.

I've been burned on it TOO MUCH to allow anyone else to go into the game without knowing what it's going to burn them
I'm not letting you fuck go in clueless and then wonder 170 hours into it why nobody told you it'd be such a fucking slog and absolutely retarded, EVEN WITH A GUILD
I want the same from others, don't let me walk into it and get burned. If I get fucked over, I want it to be completely my fault.

Sea of thieves is fun.

>FFXIV
>Dying
>Had to bring back classic to try to stop the hemorrhaging
>Made people sub for a small chance of getting into beta.

Bad argument.

Thing is, I'm not the type that plays "optimally". Back when I used to play MMOs, I never really gave a shit about optimal builds or having the most powerful armor and equipment. I'm the kind of player that's content with playing sub-optimally as long as it works well enough for me.

>It's cliche crap
Like 99.9% of stories in vidya (and movies) today? You like it becuase of the characters, not becuase of the premise. Besides, once you reach the last MSQ in ARR the story kicks it up by like 10 notches but then nosedives in the MSQ patches up until you reach the halfway point of Stormblood.

You're 100% on the money with what you said, and you'll be bored within 2 weeks and regret it. FF14 is designed to be dead content almost always, then you queue to do shit you've done to queue some more.

I remember drooling over that Hawkman armor, looks really good. Flash armor is trash though

It gets better when you reach level 70

Why do WoW clones always rip off the shit about WoW that people hate like the cutscenes, all the automatic queue tools, the instanced quest phasing, the dance dance revolution raid bosses, samey class design and railroaded questing but not the shit that made it fun originally like the tight controls, easy targeting, dangerous feeling world, world pvp, no loading screens between zones, impactful professions, currency that actually means something, design that was constantly incentivizing people to group up in the world instead of only for dungeons, pve and pvp both being useful to each other, large sprawling dungeons at endgame and a sensible progression at endgame with little to no catchup gear? WoW is the only one of these theme park MMOs that actually felt good to play. And i'm talking about Vanilla before WoW-clone fags get up in arms about how shit Retail is (yeah tell me about it).

>an mmo to remove all brainlet posters on Yea Forums
This truly is the mmo for Yea Forums.

Maybe people keep trashing BDO because BDO is shit.

People are desperately hoping that anyone out there is listening and will combine all the good parts of these MMOs into 1 that isn't a complete rip off while simultaneously warning other people of the manipulative business practices in an attempt to save them and deprive these companies of money so they're forced to listen.

Or maybe "gamers" just like to complain

The monetization is copy pasted from BDO and it's the same people behind BDO so I already have a good idea how this is going to go.
People will fall for it though.

That's not my point. I don't care if Black Desert is good or bad. My point is... what's the purpose of these MMO threads and do you people even exist or do I exist? The post are always the same and they look like bots wrote them. You humans really write the same things over and over which is a strong case insanity. Like, if no MMO is wrote playing why even make the thread? Why is it that these threads always hit bump limit? And most importantly, why do you constantly tell people to DON'T PLAY ANYTHING?

It's like you guys a NPCs programmed to do the same thing over and over.

This here for me

What does instanced world mean?

MMOs are a dead genre. There will never be a good MMO again and there shouldn't really be. They were a product of their time and they're not really unique or novel anymore in an age where every game now has online play and the internet has been around for long enough that it's become ingrained in everyone's lives. It's time to move on. The genre is done.

this, plus
let's be real here, the crappy combat is a large part of WHY the journey is so bad
>takes 40 hours before you are actually doing something besides spamming fire 1 or ice 2
it really sucks, also just because other stories are shitty doesn't excuse the absolute dogshit plots of both wow and ffxiv, that is why in an MMO, main story quests should be optional, because there's a very large chance the story is shit, at the very least you could let me play around with my friends instead of forcing me to sit through shit

Hey guys like a week ago I was reminiscing with a buddy about an mmo we played together but couldn't remember the name or find anything searching. It might have been a korean grinan mmo but was free to play and all I really remember is flying some kind of airship/airplane and you'd do normal tab-targeting combat like that. Don't remember if you had an actual character just the flying around and then attacking
Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Now I want one too.

The point of these threads is for the OP to express frustration to the current state of the fucking industry and hold out for the faint hope of a ray of sunshine gracing him and everyone else.
I've made several of these threads, not once was my day made better by them.

What game is this? It looks familiar.

It's not open, you have to go through a bunch of loading screens to get to another zone.

Everything is blocked off by mountains.

GW2 does this too. I guess WoW did this back in the day to a certain extend by fencing everything off with mountains, aside from the first zones made in the game.

Dumb shit you hear people say about mmos.

So why don't you just... go play the MMOs you actually like. I'm 99.99% sure there's a Private server for your best MMO. And why waste so many hours of your life telling other people what to play and what not to play? That's..... seek help.

I tried dauntless and it’s an ok/10 but is there ever anything more in the wilderness areas than just a boss? It seems like a huge waste.

>I have an MMO itch I want to scratch and I have a lot of books and podcasts I want to listen to, it would be a perfect match.
So I'm guessing you just want a long comfy grind so I'd suggest xiv. The main scenario alone should keep you entertained for a few months and it's free until 35. The amount of comfy grinding in that game is insane.

>they’re built like singleplayer games
That's because most players (aka casuals) don't want to group up, so MMOs are adapting to that.

Star Wars Galaxies Legends is the best sandbox mmo ever created and still holds up today.

City of Heroes has the best character creator of all time with ability to customise a super hero and despite the gay ops the private servers are super fun.

You have a funny definition of the term "old".

Can't agree with you more user. But the story quests would be more fun if the combat at lower levels was more fun. So they don't really need to change anything other than their shitty skill/class scaling at lower levels.

You can't compare WoW questing to FFXIV.
With WoW yeah it's shit, but some quests actually have charm and you are just going through zones to hit max level.

FFXIV locks the endgame behind getting the entire story done. If you hit max level and don't have the msq story done. Too bad kiddo, you can't do shit until you complete it. They aren't "generic" do this type quests either. It's just straight up bad storytelling

>go play the MMOs you actually like
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Attached: 1536545498961.jpg (1242x1241, 100K)

Destroys any exploration, ruins immersion, have to walk through a bunch of loading screens to get anywhere or you would if these MMOs also didn't implement teleports all over the world.

Ragnarok M or Toram Online?

RPGs of any kind have always had shit pvp. It goes all the way back to pen and paper roleplaying games having eternally shit pvp. Thousands of stats, items, skills, talents, etc. makes it extremely difficult to balance, compared to your typical shooter.

MMO's are dead. Look at the replies in this thread and tell me this shit is of any value to anybody.

Attached: 1547998527501.png (903x514, 1011K)

it's not. If anything the instanced world of xiv is still a living world on one server with a community. Meanwhile in WoW the game is sharded out the ass yet still barren
I'll take instanced worlds over dead sharding ones

Are you now discovering what 9 out of 10 threads on Yea Forums are like? Hardly anybody wants to go "oh hey, I'm playing that game too". They all want to go "hey, fuck that game, it sucks".

Everquest is always that game I romanticize and want to love but I can't get beyond the controls.

been following a nig streamer playing this on the thai server, and it's nice, everyone was afraid of the optimization being shit but turns out is actually decent and supports enough people on your screen at stable frames. There's also an extra layer of grind/customization for your mount with abilities and roles, so it has potential to keep people hooked in casual content, not sure about tryhard endgame though, no one seems to be featuring it.

Big C bruh

>FFXIV locks the endgame behind getting the entire story done. If you hit max level and don't have the msq story done. Too bad kiddo, you can't do shit until you complete it. They aren't "generic" do this type quests either. It's just straight up bad storytelling
I always find this hilarious, how people complain about old content not being irrelevant. It's like a new book series you haven't read coming out and you think "oh shit that looks really good, I wanna read that" so you skip ahead and read the 4th book without going through all of the others.

>You have a funny definition of the term "old".
user... both games are like a decade old now. Just like how EQ was ''old'' when WoW released back in the day.

got you covered, senpai

Attached: pcmouse.jpg (640x640, 29K)

9 out of 10 the game in question does indeed suck

I'm not sure how it is with FF14 but GW2 is sharded to hell despite having loading screen zones. You can have a proper world without sharding but Blizzard are too caught up in the idea that every zone must have people running around in it.

Wait for Camelot Unchained
It's just common courtesy to warn people about BDO so they don't end up as one of those guys who dump months into it before quitting in disgust.

>Ragnarok M
Not available in the EU Caliphate iirc
>Toram Online
Never heard of it

Toram is kino

scimitar pro or the g600

Vindictus came out 6 years ago

>It's just straight up bad storytelling
I'm okay with people not liking XIV's storyline but how can you compare it with the dumpster fire that is wow and think it's worse? What even is the storyline atm?

Some people aren't interested in the story, so forcing them to do it to progress causes a negative reaction. You can make older content relevant without forcing people to do it.

Yeah those two things are totally relatable. The MSQ is dogshit in ffxiv. I'd rather do WoW questing

>This shit is less disgusting than this other piece of shit
MMOfags have no standards.

Ff14 is a final fantasy game so story always comes first

It isn't even "older content"
like it's a shitty quest story. Dungeons, raids, etc. That is actual content.

The only MMO I can stomach playing these days. Probably because it has the most character building depth and roleplaying depth out of all MMOs on the market. Anything else feels like primitive kiddie trash with no depth.

Attached: 20190403192943_1.jpg (1920x1080, 797K)

But you can still explore stuff

Do i need to buy only new expansion for xiv or all of them? Bought vanilla years ago and want to give it another try

You mean 9

>Some people aren't interested in the story, so forcing them to do it to progress causes a negative reaction. You can make older content relevant without forcing people to do it.
I guess that depends on what an MMO is to you. MMO's used to be about world immersion, story, community, characters, a living breathing world and RPG, professions etc.

Instead we have all these wow faggots who think MMOs are nothing except grinding dungeons and raids every day for fucking years

Because WoW doesn't have a real storyline like MSQ. The leveling process is just doing generic quests that are encapsulated by themselves.
FFXIV is just this massive overarching cringe story that you are forced to do

HEY
REMEMBER RIFT?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

>anything I don't like is cringe
cringe

>Blizzard are too caught up in the idea that every zone must have people running around in it.
How the fuck are they so bad at managing their own tech, that even with sharting, 99% of the game is even more empty than before they introduced named tech?

well let's see
>leveling in wow
>can literally just not do quests and instead run dungeons or battlegrounds or otherwise do things with OTHER PLAYERS to get to max level all without caring about the garbage story
>ffxiv
>I'm forced to sit through one of the most autistic storylines ever crafted and they don't even have the courtesy to voice act 90% of their cutscenes
xiv fags are so fucking pathetic, you piss and whine about wow but the reality is, yeah it is a better experience if you're not a huge fucking weeb with trash standards.
It may not be great but xiv is a whole other level of bad

shadowbringer contains every expac, but you need the starter edition

thinking like this isn't why MMOs are bad. Its all the unnecessary handholding throughout the game thats been added. I refuse to believe anyone is this retarded - these is literally absolute bottom of the barrel scumsuckers who are given an inch and take a mile and ride it up all the way into the development teams ass.

>this game is too hard
>nerf it
>this weapon is too good
>nerf it
>these stats are too bloated
>nerf it
>this raid is too difficult
>nerf it
>character trees are too complicated
>nerf it

etc. etc. etc in every fucking game.

I'm playing TESO right now because my friends dragged me into it. It and FFXIV seem very popular right now because they're story driven and make it easy to play solo. Also it's ugly as sin, combat sucks and difficulty is trivial outside of veteran dungeons. But it's got voice acting!

Every non-themepark MMO that I can think of is either some chink pay-to-win fest or came out like 20 years ago and relies on emulated private servers now. Why is this genre such a fucking trashfire?

So the ones I play lately are Runescape, FF14, BDO, and trying Archeage. I used to play a lot of Rift back in the day.
>Rift
was actually pretty fun but I can't speak for it now. But it is old.
>BDO
The node system is pretty cool. I like the game except for the RNG and failstack based upgrades. You also need to spend money if you want to auto pickup items, though now you can get a free pet or two to do that for you on the daily rewards for new/returning players. There's no level limit but theres a large fucking grind between levels after 50, and going to 50 opens you to open PVP. Also can pay for cosmetics that give you small boosts (10% to things)
>Archeage
Made a cute goth demon gf that I want to slob on my knob, only level 20 though. Apparently it's grind but I can't really tell yet since these first 20 levels were all story missions you do to get out of the area or something. Maybe someone can come in and say something.
>Runecape
Really need me to explain this?
>Ff14
Relatively easy, with a little difficulty, but the right amount for it to not feel like a Korean grind, still a MMO grind though. Your main class you can grind to 70 by story missions with minimal leveling dungeons for bonus needed. Lore is interesting. Companies can be interesting. Easiest to get into if you make yourself goals to meet. The creator wants to make this easier, hence the shit talk about the new expansion. DPS whole combo is, one button self buff, three button combo to add debuff, and three button combo for damage up to 50. At 70 add two more attacks into the combo. Up to 50 you have one buff skill. At 70 you get 9 buff skills. Essentially you pair the attacks with the buffs and you can get an extremely static rotation you can mash for 30 seconds until you start over. Crafting is getting mats then making the item by spamming the "progress" button unless you need high quality, then you make a 20-part macro to get 100% if you're lucky and all the 70% quality increases work.

Every single video game has bad story. I guess you just want to play a game without story. So I guess my question to you is why the everliving fuck are you playing an MMO?

>healers in pvp were unkillable
Yeah I fucking remember that trash game.

>do things with OTHER PLAYERS
user wow is a single player game. Even if you do your instanced content no one talks. And your servers are empty and dead. I dare you to take a picture right now of your faction capital city and have it not be a ghostland

To be fair, MMOs for years didn't really convey their story through one long quest chain that made you feel like the chosen one. A lot of them used to be you'd get random pieces of information from quests, random journals, talking to NPCs and outside sources like books. When I did play FF14 I had 0 interest in the story because it was just presented in a terrible way. Meanwhile I read every word in every quest in Cabal Online, still keep up to date with Warcraft lore, really care about RS lore and some other MMOs.

Well its more than obvious people want WoW really badly to be good. It was the go-to mmo for most people, but at this point its more just a delusion.
People changed, the industry did too, and none for the better. Most people wait for the next big thing, but they fail to cope that its just simply not gonna happen. You and they deep down know this, you are intelligent enough to realize, but fail to accept.
There are so many things that need to change both in players and devs that when you go trough all of it you come to the conclusion: its safer to abandon the sinking ship rather than trying to fix it because the moment one hole is fixed 3 new opens.

>its all the unnecessary handholding throughout the game thats been added.
That's just part of catering to solo players. Also your average MMO player is literally that retarded, it's what happens when your entire business model revolves around catering to the "widest audience" aka lowest common denominator to maximize the amount of marks you can milk with microtransactions

>"I care about story"
>but only if the cutscenes are good, fuck reading lmao

>quitting in disgust.
Name a single MMO where the player doesn't end up quitting in disgust aka we call that burnout.

It effects everyone. Even normies.

>single player game
yes, indeed xiv is a singleplayer lobby sim, at least wow still let's you interact with other humans

Because I want to play a social game and do dungeons, raids, etc. I enjoyed the crafting a lot in ffxiv. The story was just plain bad and you are forced into it.
When I play an MMO it isn't for the story

FFXIV is getting 2b raid. What other MMO raid can top that?

Attached: yorha raid.jpg (1200x628, 76K)

>social game
>playing wow
fucking kek

I considering buying a new copy with complete edition, it's cheaper and including a free month if i remember correctly. Can i somehow delete my old copy from steam?

it's only a solo game if you make no effort at all to be social like you join no linkshells, no fc, no NN channel, nothing. it's 100% you.

Not him, but a better question would be why the everliving fuck would you play an MMO instead of a single player game if you cared about the story?

Can someone else explain this meme to me? Why do blizzdrones pretend xiv is as empty or more empty than their game? People are actually out in the world in ffxiv

true. i go to limsa and always see these weird cats and lalas emoting and acting all cutesy and hugging and touching each other. The dialogue of the lalas made me cringe so fucking bad while i was at the market and I spent about 10 mins trying to figure out what sort of weird fuck would lewd a lala.

FFXIV is a magnet for these types of people.

I don't play WoW. I quit right after firelands was released during cata. I tried ffxiv last year

You first.

Fucking Zoomers FFXIV is a P2P = Pay 2 Play and not P2W = Pay 2 Win.

How can anyone defend the storytelling in XIV? I’m not going to argue on the story itself because it’s just animu bullshit which you can take either way but have either of you played an MMO before? XIV is a singleplayer game with a singleplayer story that forces you to group up for parts, then pretends thise other players don’t exist. Oh and if you try leveling with someone else it forces you to split up for the singleplayer instances too. New players or even new alts (not that you need to make alts because aside from the armory system the story is completely static) need to sit through it all to reach the end...Oh wait you can pay to skip it! The story offers nothing that involves the player except to ferry them between cutscenes of nodding (or palming their fist in new expansions). When you appear in a cutscene you get to stand there and watch the bad guy do his thing every time.

The world building in xiv is good, I’ll give it that. Lots of side content and NPCs to fill it in.

It's both

wait for classic its will be the best mmorpg.

>What the fuck were they thinking with Secret World?
Trash gameplay and the game is 99% doable solo, could be a offline singleplayer game entirely instead of a mmo.

>books and podcasts to listen to
lol fuck off.

>dog runes
NOPE

>crafters making new items
>people showing off gear
>bards playing music and people watching their performance
>sound of warp ins and out as people come and go
>call goes out that a hunt has been found
>go to the area as people call out for invites to the group
>we customarily wait for others to show up before pulling
>after it's done I decide to do palace of the dead
>warp to quarrymill and see a even more people there
>gatherings going in and out taking levee quests

I'm not referring to people who are dropping the game just because they're tired of it or have been playing so long that it's become a destructive habit. I'm talking about those that drop it because the game is covered in so many layers of gook-jew bullshit that it's hard to see why the game is terrible and absurdly shallow without investing time into it.

>xiv tranny is this delusional
wow not only has more players but doesn't forcibly lock you into a single player msq for 90% of the game

>((((bluehole))))
No thank you.

>ffxiv is filled with trannies!
and wow is designed by trannies

Attached: 1559099257513.jpg (2904x2100, 1.42M)

you forgot going to the golden saucer and seeing more people in that one zone than an entire warcraft server

how can you call the story shit if you can't even explain the story with anything but "it's bullshit"

I don't think you can delete your Steam copy
If you buy the complete edition you wont have the new expac that will come out next month
The best thing to do if you want to start fresh is:
>buy the starter edition for 9$ to get the base game + 30d of playtime
>grab heavensward for free: pcgamesn.com/final-fantasy-xiv/ffxiv-heavensward-free
>wait for shadowbringers
>buy shadowbringers

I hope Blizzard burns, really. They have great IPs and they've have continued to push them into the shitter. How do you fuck up Diablo, Warcraft/ WoW, Overwatch and Starcraft?

Here is the defacto patrician list of currently available and upcoming MMOs:
>fairly new games with lots of pros and cons
FFXIV, ESO
>old but gold
Guild Wars, City of Heroes, OSRS, Everquest, Dark Age of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies
>upcoming and very promising
Camelot Unchained, Pantheon

>race of fat ugly women
What the fuck they were thinking?

what class and race

Lets be honest here:
Classic has daily threads, and you try to sell others this fucking type of shit and you defend it to the death
youtube.com/watch?v=Br1hXGXJ7Tg

The industry literally can't move on, because you people are so fucking close minded that its insane. If someone says wow suck and that the sky is blue, you say its red. Its just like asmongold: hates every other mmo, he doesn't even understand why he hates it apart from being not WoW. Even if WoW2 came out which did everything better than WoW you would hate it, because its not WoW. You say "I don't like it cuz anime". Holy shit I hate you people.

shitposting aside heavensward story was fucking amazing

>dude just play for 500 hours and then you can play with other people lmao!!!!
nice "MM"O

B-but that doesn’t count !

>race of fat ugly women
>What the fuck they were thinking?
it was designed by fat ugly women user

The problem is the industry has moved on from MMO's.
Every new MMO that comes out is some korean garbage p2w grind MMO.

There will never be another good MMO

yes

user the game drops you off in limsa and you can join a free company immediately. You.... you do know that right? Like the game actually has an entire social channel for people new to the game so they can ask mentors for help

You have played the game right user?

>ctrl+f ITT
>wow: 79 results
>xiv: 78 results
>eso: 19 results
>osrs: 8 results
>every other mmo: less results than the above

so wow and xiv are the only two worth talking about.

>I don't like it cuz it's anime
the reason wow is still by and away more popular than xiv is because xiv is straight up bad.
You fucking retards keep defending trashy and regressive game design, your game is literally a singpleplayer game that you have to beat before you can even see another human being.
The reason the game gets so much scorn is because it is the spitting image of cheap japanese knockoff, even fucking rift was better

The MMO genre is pretty dead right now.

Yeah basically. I'd add osrs as well

Whenever some wow faggot says your game is empty just ask them to take an ingame screen shot of stormwind or orgrimmar. They will never do it, they always bitch out and stop responding

and one is just a clone of the other
really makes you think

Bullshit, fat ugly women hate fat ugly women.

>when the clone is better than the original

Attached: 125.jpg (1218x658, 92K)

>your game is literally a singpleplayer game that you have to beat before you can even see another human being
user you can keep saying this but it doesn't mean it's true

PLEASE PLAY MY DEAD GAME I'M SO LONELY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Attached: 1536876926506.png (663x868, 889K)

why do ffxiv trannies always fixate on retail wow? there an

any mmo that doesn't force you through hundreds of fetch quests to get past level caps?

That only means that WoW and XIV are popular among zoomers. FFS, they are barely MMORPGs.

You can literally see Black Desert Online's jew tactics right at the beginning of the game.

1, You armor doesn't change and It cost 30+ for a full costume outfit+weapon skin
2, You have to pick up ever single loot manually

With those two alone happening in the first 10 minutes of the game there's no way you would continue playing without knowing.

Attached: 1505804597546.jpg (381x397, 78K)

I wasn’t trying to say wether the story was good or not. I was talking about the way the story is presented, especially as it relates to the genre of the game.

Not really

literally not a single zoomer alive likes FF MMOs. what zoomer do you know enjoys reading text or 2.5s GCD combat

Yes really, stats and mechanics make a huge difference.

Stormwind and Orgrimmar aren't the current capitals hubs.

>dude throw the eyes over the bridge

I played FFXIV at launch, before the redesign

How is it now? Is it like WoW very fast paced with short cooldowns and spamming abilities every 1.5s?
Or is it still kinda slow?

The MMO gerne is pretty shit right now.

They're all about instant gratification and anti-social gameplay.

If you want to play a game that involves grinding go pick up a JRPG with crafting

>a starting city
fantastic and you know what? joining an fc won't stop you from being forced to grind the msq, that's the reality. In wow you can play with other people immediately no problem because you don't have to go questing to unlock dungeons or other content, you can just do it you can actually just play with your friends.
You can pretend all you like that your lobby sim isn't painfully awful but it is, if it were better than wow I'd be playing it right now (but I'm not I'm playing mhw instead)

The autism you could generate in FFXIV would be legendary, so if you like seeing autists have a mental breakdown then that could probably be worth the sub, the game itself is shit though.

I dont like readng text and the 2.5sec GCD and still plays XIV

>How to spot shitposters that have never played the game
Yeah yeah, we all know how much of a hateboner you have for anything that isn't your favorite thing, but you don't have to lie about it on a loli-jpg-sharing BBS.

still has a 2.5 second gcd

I was thinking about getting back into blade & soul.

because user there is only retail wow

rofl stop lying you fucking idiot

why do ff14fags get so defensive when you call their game shit
at least wowfags know their game sucks

the story wasn't memorable at all. I remember the story of vanilla had something to do with an empire (think the name started with a G) and Heavensward involved the ascians. Trash story with a few good moments.

Huge fan of the game with 3 level 70s. He’s being pretty honest. I do love the game nonetheless. But it does lack the forced interaction XI had. That said if you really wanna find people to socialize with you can.

The game direction of BDO also fucking sucks

The game is set on rails, yet it feels like I have no direction because im just following the retarded black blorb

which podcasts and which books, answer now REEEEEEEEEEEEE
also classic wow obviously

Attached: Brought to you by troll gang.png (1204x768, 1.46M)

Some favorites from back in the day were stuff like early WoW (left around Lich King expansion), City of Heroes/Villains (which is still around thanks to fans), Guild Wars (I think 2 is more active though), this one platformer racer mmo whose name escapes me, a Digimon MMO that went to shit when the company was bought out, more recently Star Wars: TOR. I remember playing Phantasy Star: Blue Burst and I tried out the trial/demo of FFXIV.
In the end I lost interest in every single game either over time or within a few weeks.
If you want to scratch the MMO itch I'd look into single-player games that emulate that feel. Most MMOs are animesque (especially F2P ones) so .hack//IMOQ and .hack//GU are perfect examples. While I'm not sure on the SAO games I do remember one of the Xenoblades games having a MMO vibe.

It's slower and not as responding (there a bit of latency on everything you do) but you get a lot of off-GCD spells as you level up

Starts slow then becomes fasts as you level. If you want fast you play ninja, monk, or samurai

The 2.5s GCD is a meme and I'm positive you don't need to read. Also most trannies kill themselves around 30, so its zoomers on HRT.

in the time it took this thread to reach 400 posts, FFXIV already went through FOUR 500+ reply threads on Yea Forums.

people have been playing vanilla wow servers for the last 4 years and vanilla is being re-released by blizzard in like 3 months
when people say wow, they don't mean retail. nobody gives a fuck about that game.

I miss Marvel Heroes.

They have not been since Cata, but that didn't stop them from being filled to the brim with players before the release of BfA. Even WoD had more players in SW/Org, and that was the expansion that added literal safe-spaces for players.

Ff14 just isn’t the kind of game you rush to end game.

just because FFXIV has waifu autists and weebs that spam their shitty female characters all the time doesnt mean shit, no one fucking plays that game lmao, it literally has less players than retail wow

end game is very fast paced and the rotations are infinitely more complex than wow. But it takes a long, long time to get there and you'll probably get bored.
>youtube.com/watch?v=xWUs8_3TH2Q

I have played the game, that's how I know you have to play their shitty weeb jrpg story before getting to do things
and you know the worst part about ffxiv the thing that really makes it the worst mmo?
Even after you reach 70 and finally unlock your entire kit, 90% of the game activities just scale you right back down, so you lose all your abilities.
So basically, the only fun content in the game is ultimates and savage raids because you can actually play the game and have an real rotation.
Genuinely one of the worst designed games I've ever seen and if that wasn't bad enough
>want to level new job
>have to spend several days grinding potd and hoh
cancer

eh not really. So many people play ffxiv so casually it would be par for the course

be a man and play Tibia, do you hate hardcore MMOs?

FFXIV was so bad my entire FC quit playing over a span of a few months. Jokes on them though, I logged in as the new leader and cleaned out the guild bank.

>actually shilling private warcraft servers

Attached: 1555637329349.jpg (470x470, 31K)

I honestly don't know.
I'd say ffxiv is a top MMO, but still shit because almost all MMOS are so bad now days

you can check the archives and see that's not true for yourself. feel free to take screenshots and post them here.

I know, that's what makes it bad, if the early levels weren't so bad and left you stuck with 3 abilities most of the time, you know what? I'd like it, I'd have fun, but no it's awful
you ever try and level up a black mage? pre 60 combat is CANCER total cancer

wow what is this? a game for obese autistic boomers? never post here again

Attached: file.png (230x169, 93K)

i went from 1-70 with black mage in just 5 days. stop sucking.

private wow servers are terrible but theyre 1000x the mmo that ff14 is
ya know, cause it actually is one

I guarantee FF has less players than retail lmao
just imagine, actually having less players than BfA

because the only people that play ffxiv are sycophants, you have to remember these are the same people who were shilling the game way back when it first came out and almost bankrupted SE
The idea that their game is actually trash just isn't a thought that crosses their delusional minds

asherons call private server or city of heroes private server

honestly the cash shop wasn't the issue to me, it was the failstacking and RNG upgrades. I didn't mind shelling out $100-150 for a game I played for over half a year, it was the fucking upgrade system

yeah...grinding potd is so engaging...h-haha.....very fun gameplay that totally isn't awful and prone to cause burnout...

Unironically just play ToR for the stories to hold you until classic wow. I suggest Imperial Agent and Light Side Sith Warrior.

>calling others autistic on a MMO thread

Attached: 1558734188648.jpg (837x959, 183K)

the problem is that wow fags think only the end game matters. Those poor bastards will grind up their characters 120 levels through six old expansions of meaningless content that consists of literally the most boring of quests possible with no story at all.

I mean fuck the poor little shits don't even have class quests anymore

Attached: 1542142455245.jpg (562x155, 19K)

imagine being this delusional

spamming potd only is the shit way to level. again stop sucking dick bro.

are FFXI private servers good?

>potd

>fates

remind me, how do you level in wow again?

I actually liked ToR a lot.
Best part about that game when it first came out was that max level was 30 so it didn't feel like a fucking slog

yea the story cutscenes and dungeons tied to progression is what really kills interest for the average MMO player. I eventually quit realizing how shallow and boring the game actually is.

I wanted to play a viera but I realized I would have to redo the entire story for her which pissed me off and made me lose interest in the upcoming expansion. I'm not going to fucking pay more money to skip shit I've already played. Greedy ass SE can go fuck themselves

they give you a free race change just for beating ARR story.

yes but you're talking to a blizzdrone, they are too stupid to think logically

the one great thing about FFXIV was the crafting. easily the most enjoyable crafting of any MMO I've played

you play dungeons and pvp where you actually have more than 2 abilities because it isn't a dumpster fire like xiv :^)
like, listen, you can try and dance around this topic all you like but the sheer lack of buttons that you have at the start of the game is awful, it barely feels like you're playing a game at all.
I realize your sunk cost fallacy addled mind makes it impossible for you to see this as a flaw but it is, a fatal flaw

>B-BUT WOW
lol every time

I mean nothing pre end game matters in ffxiv. Your characters combat is boring as fuck and awful because all the abilities you get just aren't fun.

Going to play Astellia online, I'm going to be scammed just like with Bless. But the drought is so real I need something even if I know it's a stupid choice.

how old are you people ITT? why do you all type like retarded teenagers?

>p-please play my shitty wiafu simulator
why do FF fags aggressively shill their dogshit game so much? no one wants to fucking play it lmaoooo

Attached: file.png (640x360, 410K)

it's boring max level too. What even are the rotations in warcraft anymore?

Attached: 1559092589421.png (1612x1404, 674K)

I actually don't mind the cutscenes and storytelling with the dungeons. It's the inbetween that is horrible.

I'd rather a story be told through gameplay and not just reading text quests over and over and long ass cutscenes that never end

FFXIV players literally cannot defend their game. They only know how to deflect and try to shit on retail WoW aka a game everybody already knows is shit and doesn't care about. They're so desperate.

Attached: peak performance.jpg (1458x1080, 259K)

most people here are under 18

user this is a thread that someone started asking which game to play. Please take your medicine

You can just use a fantasia to change your race, you don't have to create an entirely new character, You get a free one after finishing ARR'S main story too.

No clue. I only played summoner at 70 and it was fun. I just remember how dull it was before I got my neat abilities at the end.

I'm 31 and I enjoy playing FFXIV and Ephinea PSO. But the people talking about WoW in this thread must be under 21.

thanks will try the game before expansion comes, mostly interested in the crafting system.

>long ass cutscenes that never end
Sounds like a FF staple.

holy shit ffxiv faggots are so delusional, trannies won't even respond to criticism

Attached: 1550545111280.png (339x321, 92K)

no, you had to do NEW content and NEW quests whereas for xiv you're redoing the same old thing over and over again

For every single class in the game its
>Cast your efficient spell until a proc happens
>Use proc to cast your inefficient spell efficiently

After that its based on your class, tanks its all about keeping your basic defensive abilities up 100% or close too, healer is about watching DBM and then spamming your big AOEs, and DPS is just doing your rotation as fast as possible.

The crafting system is neat. Just remember if you want to want to craft on any high level you will have to shell out more money for retainers which is
p2w

and you have 3 fucking FF14 faggots aggressively shilling that shitty game, just like anytime anyone mentions MMOs

its like you desperately want to convince yourself that your chosen game is good.

...

the worst part is the fucking post msq quests
>have guide open while grinding through ARR to get to HW
>finally on the last ARR quest
>wow I did it! Oh, wait there's 30 more hours of post quests to do haha sorry :3
it's sooooooooooo cancer, I fucking hate it

So it's like any other mmo? The only thing is the combat experience pre max level in ffxiv is so dull and boring. If you consider all end game combat dull and boring, just imagine how bad it is before that

user if people are talking about a game and saying its good it's probably because they actually think it's good. Not everyone is as autistic as you are.

EVE for PVP and community

Haven and Hearth for grinding

I have classic beta, but the level 30 cap keeps me from playing more, especially since rogue stunlock doesn't come online until much later

>wow zoomies shilling classic
lmao can't wait for september, you guys have no idea what you're getting into

Seriously how fucking old are you people in this thread? This is probably the most underaged poster thread on Yea Forums right now.

Attached: 1407533168145.png (640x478, 277K)

>Ephinea PSO
My absolute nigga.
I haven't played in a while because my friends and I are pretty busy, but that shit is the comfiest.

Attached: 1439853094069.jpg (800x800, 42K)

Even if I had the classic beta I don't think I'd play it. I'd rather just wait until actual release before I dived in

pay up whittu piggu

this is not the smash thread

Yeah only getting into the best mmo experience possible right now.

>its like you desperately want to convince yourself that your chosen game is good.
the projection here is fucking amazing

they only have 9k players per data center user, I'd try to recruit people too if I played a game with a nonexistent playerbase
fuck, I could hop on fucking warframe and go to a trading post and see more people than the average ffxiv server

no one thinks that game is good except the handful of weebs and waifufaggots that still play it. theres a reason the playerbase is in the dumps

The Smash people are manchildren, the people advocating WoW and calling FF14 "weeb" when weeb stands for a person that's not japanese, but wishes they were (THE GAME IS FUCKING MADE IN JAPAN BY SQUARE ENIX HOW IS IT WEEB)

the best mmo I've played in recent times is XIV
the second best is GW2

you might have different tastes or whatever, but hey
retail WoW & ESO(beta) are the two worst MMOs I've ever played

If you want a free one, try C9 or neverwinter online if you like more actiony type MMOs otherwise IDK

It's a more boring, slower version of BDO lmao

>except the handful of weebs and waifufaggots
he says while posting on Yea Forums. Do you have a chromosomal disorder?

Attached: 1556248069231.png (815x815, 889K)

Calm down, sperg. You're not a hero for not liking a game.

Attached: 1542653682516.jpg (728x1158, 612K)

>I have played the game, that's how I know you have to play their shitty weeb jrpg story before getting to do things
Then you also know that you have too do some actual leveling inbetween MSQ. And you do that by actualy doing shit in the world, with other people if you like.

>Even after you reach 70 and finally unlock your entire kit, 90% of the game activities just scale you right back down, so you lose all your abilities.
What? It only scales you down if you play old content and that is to make sure that it isn't just trivialized by you being a higher level than it was designed for

>So basically, the only fun content in the game is ultimates and savage raids because you can actually play the game and have an real rotation.
So, I guess we are just ignoring the fact that you actually have to get to a point where you can do Ultimates/Savage content? And the fact that you already have your full rotation once you reach lvl 70 and you will still have your full rotation as long as you don't use the duty finder to play old content that was not designed for it?

>>want to level new job
>>have to spend several days grinding potd and hoh
And you will have to grind dungeons in WoW beause from lvl 1-60 (minimum) wow has even less buttons for your character to push and world content so trivialy easy/boring that the gameworld is 100% dead (even with sharding) until you reach ''current tier'' content. While FFXIV you can barely run 100m before running headfirst into another player, no matter where you are.

Who am I kidding, I'm probably talking to the sort of troglodyte that actually enjoys retail WoW or ''Insert Korean grindfest here''. There is no point in taking the bait and talking to a shitposter.

you're not here anymore but ragnaroketernallove.com/

you mean the worst experience
pic related.

>j-just play on a non streamer server
you mean the low pop server that defeats the purpose of a old mmo like vanilla?

Attached: classic.jpg (1256x1354, 397K)

>the best mmo I've played in recent times is XIV
have sex

Proc based rotations is a reletively new thing and is the shittest way to design MMO gameplay.

The best thing about classic so far has been the fact that proc based abilities are extremely rare and extremely powerful, but not reliable for damage.

As well the mobs might be basic by design, but they have more sensible mechanics then the newer MMO style, sure they're not shitting out glowing circle groundfire that will kill you in half a second unless you dodge it, but humanoids run away and tend to have more abilities like fireball and backstab, beasts tend to have more health but less armor, demons use debuffs and magic ect, and it all makes more sense then 99% of monsters being punching bags and 1% being bosses with mechanics that don't make sense in the grand scheme of things, such as a retarded frog in a hat who's big mechanic is putting people in a room where they have to run over a death void in a thin line.

Okay so you have no actual critiques of the game just mad at streamers

Nope. Supply and demand.
You want shitty games you got shitty games.

I say this because you people are the reflection of Asmongold. Same ass echo chamber mentality where you defend your dogshit game. Why the fuck you defend it after all what blizzard done to you? How the fuck can you be this much of a literal NPC? Blizzard fucks you so hard and many others in the ass but you always come back for more. When the fuck will you learn?
The criticism you make is literally twich chat tier where you don't even understand what you hate and you spew out bullshit, because Activejew rot your braincells so fucking hard that there is only WoW nothing else, you people have the same ass NPC mentality. Your biggest self advocates in WoW are proven to be complete idiots, and/or straight up frauds who tell people what they want to hear, but not the reality. Literal snake oil salesmen.
This is not about FFXIV, I'm not doing this to shine it. Its about how that you tunnel into WoW. And let me tell you: You are the reason why this genre sucks dicks so hard, and there never will be a good game again here.
Oh yeah and this
>herf weebshit bad durf
types are commonly known as reddit tourists. So go back there you fuckhead, there you can write how happy you are because an e-celeb said your name after a donation.

have sex

>w-what about WoW though!

jesus christ I don't even like WoW..

I meant I want an alt.

Why can't BfA be good? When the fuck is 8.2 going to drop?

It's official.
youtube.com/watch?v=6rSsg56VGhM

Attached: metacritic.jpg (874x342, 112K)

lol, keep deflecting incel. your game is dead thats why you try to shill it so hard and defend it like its part of your identity.

>talking up classic's class combat
you spam literally 1 or 2 abilities

why would you create an alt if you can be every class on a single character

Attached: candy.jpg (867x57, 26K)

Still not saying much. All MMOS are horrible right now

the game has barebones boss mechanics and everything is extremely padded to take as much time as possible for no reason other than to waste your paid subscription time.

have sex

Me too bro

Attached: e.jpg (1600x900, 117K)

Albion Online is decent if you want RS-ish grinding timesink. It's pretty meh overall, though.

1-2 abilities but with more interaction with the mobs and world

You have 5+ abilities on a basic rotation in new MMOs, but your interactions with mobs is so bare bones its boring.

>we're ignoring that you have to reach savage content
yes because the content before that is pure crap.
hell, the game is SO MONUMENTALLY BAD that even the HOUSING system is shit.
Like fuck, runescape figured that shit out years ago and fucking yoshi can't? what a fucking joke
oh also
>can't use the market board without a hired manservant
these pointless little things that make the game frustrating are why it's so bad

tell us user, what interactions with the mobs and the world do you speak of?

>they have more sensible mechanics then the newer MMO style
Because they are RPG style.

>playing a MMORPG for the challenging combat
Wrong genre m8.

so you admit its more challenging
why do you play wow?

>waaaah why won't you play second life but with catgirls waaaah! why won't people play my game!
yikes

Watch FFXIVs new expansion Shadowbringers outscore Classic WoW.

Attached: collab.png (576x380, 420K)

>I can't read
welp

You can hit 60 in like a week. It only felt slow when you are like 10. I think the barebones is a pro because it makes the actual socializing the focus of the game. Getting 40 people together to go do a raid.

Every mmo now days is just p2w, microtransactions, etc. Vanilla will have none of that and just be a social game. Something that is lost on a lot of mmos now where you just queue up for whatever dungeon and leave in silence

Monster hunter is litterally hit and don't get hit, and one weapon in that game that has been consistantly top tier is just press and hold A for 1.5 seconds over and over again, and that game is more interactive then MMOs have ever been.

Attached: greatsword.jpg (300x168, 4K)

have sex

>play ff14
>mobs dont chain together, barely move when i run around them, barely do any damage to me, barely even seem to react to my presence at all
woah this is so immersive

play vanilla wow on private servers if you can't wait for classic
me? I fell for the funcom jew as AO has been my on again off again love affair for the better part of a decade

ah so you're that one sprout that wipes in PF.
streamable.com/ffmo2

I have a friend who ended up leader by default a few years back. It's probably a major reason why he didn't quit too.

>do a raid in wow
>it's multiple bosses with complex mechanics
>do a raid in ffxiv
>it's a single boss in an empty room
WOW
youtube.com/watch?v=0ywsWRuZqks

you first

THAT DOESN'T COUNT FUCKING HAVE SEX!!!

Send your mother over then boy.

Yeah the raids aren't as immersive in ffxiv as WoW.
But you could also meme and say trial of the crusader just a big round room

I wish FFXIV wasn't popular so I could get a mansion and not deal with wait times to log in.

Attached: full.jpg (524x270, 35K)

>Other mmos are too asian for me
>his beloved company is literally in the hands of tencent, they even drop their long time fans to make a mobile game because chinks demanded it

ayy
lmao

@464605443
I'm not even playing XIV. Don't reply back to me fucktard rebbitor.

That's because the moment they say it's good you get a swarm of people who played during release doing open-world content and never touched the game again claiming it's shit.Just download vanilla it's free or watch videos of some pvp.

well, the boss is clearly just standing there while the screen gets blasted with particle effects and you get blasted with scripted damage, so clearly, no he's right no reaction of enemy and player was happening at all

>But you could also meme and say trial of the crusader just a big round room
nonsense, that one example doesn't apply to the game I like but it does apply to the game I don't like

How complex can an mmo really be if it's played by people on consoles... lol

you could say that yes, however it still has more than one boss so it still wins

Lineage 2?

>boss does a tankbuster in wow
>it looks like a generic copypasted auto attack
>boss does a tankbuster in ffxiv
>you can hear how painful it sounds, you can see how fucking hard it hits, you can feel how much damage it does when you see your hp bar cleave like a fat kid biting into a chocolate bar

Attached: ffxiv_03102019_171138_552.png (1920x1080, 1.98M)

most xiv fags don't want it to get more popular because it's bringing assoles. Having to deal with wow refugees has been the biggest pain in the ass.

Again
>Humanoid mob
>when it gets low on health it runs away
>If it gets near another, it will aggro, sometimes pulling packs of adds
or
>Quest requires you to kill a certain mob
>This mob comes in packs of 3-4
>You generally don't have enough defenses, health, or DPS to kill 3-4 mobs before dying
>But you can CC them, or kite them, use LOS to avoid spellcasters, ect

But in the current game
>Mobs sit there, occasionally shit out AOE
>You can AOE down entire packs of mobs without any effort

So yeah, you're pressing more buttons, but those buttons are less impactful, casting frostbolt on repeat is no more or less interactive then spamming frostbolt to proc icelance and flurry, but when you had to care about mobs killing you, you used frost nova, snares, slow, cone of cold, ect to interact with what you were fighting much more.

or on mobile... lol
