Competition is good. They're trying to better our community. They sponsored the PC Gaming (A show which, let's be real, Gabe and Valve could've had a hand in to sponsor and hype up in the past, on multiple occasions, never even showed up once.)
They're doing something about exclusivity and crossplay. Fortnite and Dauntless are two of the only game that supports FULL crossplay, with FULL progression across all accounts, unlike the fake shit where you have to start and re-do all your progress everything you play on another console.
We're FINALLY seeing some Playstation exclusives via Epics doing, something which wasn't even in discussion when Steam was "running" the show.
But crossplay has nothing to do with the epic game store?

>They're trying to better our community Except they dont. Epic Store has the less to offers to the gaming community and customers than any PC digital store in existence. Also Epic Store brought back the toxicity in the community bringing the console war to the PC. They are literally the worst company for PC gaming and they are cancerous as much as lootboxes.

>They're trying to better our community.
By making literally everything about PC gaming worse.
>Competition is good. If you are giving people better deals instead of buying out games for 1 year exclusivity and force everyone to use your inferior, rushed launcher.
>They're trying to better our community. Buying out games for one year exclusivity deals is not bettering the community. It's pissing people off if it means they have to use an inferior launcher THAT DOESN'T HAVE A SHOPPING CART AND BLOCKS YOU IF YOU BUY GAMES TOO FAST. Not to mention sending your private info to someone else by mistake instead to you.
Nolan Rivera
Is it even fun to make baut threads like this anymore? Egs has hurt itself enough so that nobody here thinks its relevant Maybe in a few years when its full featured it becomes an alternative, but fir now its just a bad store

Epic is based

Camden Johnson
im actually pretty sure that its intentional seeing that epic is taking a loss at every purchase
>I'm actually pretty sure that its intentional seeing that epic is taking a loss at every purchase This doesn't make sense. If I had a store like Epic has, then I'd bloody prioritize putting in that damn shopping cart and instead offer better deals than Steam has whenever it's possible. That along with making sure that the games can be purchased in other ways and with regional pricing. Steam actually eats up a piece of the expenses.
Accounts will be hacked no matter what you do and there is no such thing as too many games in Epic's case. Hell, they only have a small number of actually meaningful titles.
Noah Bell
oh man
Easton King
lol
Oliver Watson
They're not competing. What they're doing is throwing shit tonnes of money at people so that they don't sell their games on as many different stores as they can get away with.
And since their store is absolute shit, anyone with an IOTA of patience will wait for the games that have been "competitively purchased" to be available on literally any other store.
Hudson Fisher
hate epic because they literally throw money at into a bucket that destroys the gaming market chink rice chinky chinky stinky rice chicken chinky yellow stinky
Also the thing with them is that they are just throwing money at a problem. They themselves said that they can't keep up for long with the shares they have now and at one point they will have to change it.

In what sense is this "competition" helping the consumers? I want examples, show me where the games are cheaper.

If you reply to this post and get a 7 then you'll still get an anime gf but she has an 85% chance of a personality defect - your cute shy waifu might be a tomboyish tsundere instead, or your loli might be full "Ara ara".

Logan Richardson
The Outer Worlds was made before Microsoft bought Obsidian. But I hope that happens
Austin Moore
Its a timed exclusive, it will be back on steam. Where have you been?
After how long? A year? NAH. Fuck timed exclusivity, people should have the freedom of choice. It didn't help Metro Exodus. While the game sold well digitally, the THQ CEO was silent about the digital sales on PC.
Gavin Thompson
Don't worry, Metro sales will pick back up once it comes to PC again early next year. Only then will they see the error of taking the epic bribe
Yeah...if ever. At this point people will still be too pissed to not buy if ever.
Hunter Fisher
Valve normalized being charged for a download and popularized most of the cancers plaguing today such as rampant DLC and microtransactions, console wannabe clients like Steam, paying for a download, games being intentionally released needing a patch because they can easily patch it through the client which only further encourages games to be released that way, made games far more expensive than ever when you take into consideration we went form paying $50 for a physical copy that is better than today's collector's editions to paying for a download license, early access aka paying to test a game or doing it for free when devs used to have to pay people to test their games, etc. I don't care about any of the digital distributors, I switched to piracy when paying for a download became the only legal way to play games, I just find Valve drones critcisms of Epic hypocritical when Valve used objectively worse tactics to push Steam and the fact that EGS would have never even been attempted if Valve were boycotted into bankruptcy after they launched Steam like they should have been. These people do not care about choice, they are just brainwashed Valve drones. Why does Valve get a pass for getting rid of choice by getting rid of physical copies, giving digital distribution a monopoly on PC, making it so going through some console wannabe platform like Steam is the only legal way to play new games on PC, and the others I mentioned above?
Epic store is really good for gaming. Want to know why? Publishers get stacks of chink money for a few years and then Epic goes bankrupt when nobody uses it. Everything will go back to normal except for the fact that western fucks siphoned a shitload of Chinese money.
>Competition is good. To be honest, no, it isn't. People are lazy by nature, we want convenience. Competition means segregation of services and this only discourages customers in the long run. Not like what epic is doing fits as competition as tehy're not really competing, they're taking the balls with them and don't let anyone else have them. They want to create a walled garden environment on the PC marketplace similar to the consoles, which is absolutely idiotic as there really isn't an architecture difference like there is with consoles to justify "store exclusivity"
Dominic Peterson
>aha! Now I have this plastic installation disc! PROOF that I own this game! >now let me just install it... >wow. Disc drives sure a slow. >Aha it is installed! Goody! Now I'll just click the icon to start the game and... >Presto! We are starting my g- "downloading update." >o-oh. ok. >well while this is downloading what appears to be the entire game from scratch, I'll just put this disc back into its lovely plastic 'jewel case' and then place the case on my shelf of games, to display it to all the ladies. >... >... >... aha! The update's done! Time to play. >*double click* >"disc not found... DIsc must be in the drive in order to play..." >oh right. How silly of me! Let me just popthis baby back in. >... >"cannot read disc...?!" >WHAT? NO... NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! >Wait! Maybe I can just redownload it like the humans do in the modern age! >ONLY OWN ONE LICENSE AND IT'S FOR THIS DISC DAMAGED DISC BECAUSE I BOUGHT CAVEMAN PHYSICAL?! >NOOOOO! >NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
>and then Epic goes bankrupt when nobody uses it Unreal licensing alone can keep them afloat forever, and Fortnite money gives them the leverage to buy out PC gaming. Of course, if Fortnite ever goes the way of PUBG, then they won't be nearly as smug anymore.
Dylan James
Like 99.9% of new games, you can't actually buy it for PC, paying for a license to download is not buying a game.

Yea Forumsirgins are terrified of epic possibly killing steam and them losing all their games. Meanwhile piratechads don't give 2 shits. As a piratechad myself I'm happy epic is bringing PS4 exclusives to PC.
>almost introduced paid mods >didnt finish their IP everyone wanted a conclusion to >anti review bomb tactics >censorship of anime games >bought out creators of Firewatch and directly supported sjw shit >dont use all their money to make quality games, instead all of it goes to gaben's private jet fund >release unimaginative dota battle passes with super greedy tactics >Put a 30% flat tax on every PC game sold, thus making sure the sequels will have 30% lesser budget Pro valve sjws will STILL defend them tho.

Robert Lewis
The only valid complaints are the IPs and anime game censoring. All others are faggotry.
Brayden Baker
Epic's trying to be nice and give people some sales to build good will. Of course they're going to punish people abusing it like cunts.
Benjamin Phillips
Based Valve more than likely paid devs to make their physical releases be Steam codes instead of actual physical copies to trick people into switching to digital.
ive said this before and ill say it again: sergey is a double agent. he has studied valve for YEARS yet he cant offer a store the same magnitude of steam with epic's money? also the fact that epic is pushing everyones buttons the wrong way suggest that he is sabotaging epic games from the inside.
James Murphy
>I'm happy epic is bringing PS4 exclusives But none of them have Sony connections, it's Quantic Dreams and Thatgamecompany.

>Competition is good. Competition is good, but not all competition is good. Just look food is good, but some things are outright harmful to eat. Doesn't change how food is still good, and an outright necessity for human survival.
Likewise competition is good, but what Epic brings to the competition is outright harmful.
Kevin Clark
>>almost introduced paid mods It was bethesda Idea >>anti review bomb tactics >>censorship of anime games EGS doesn't even have it

>censorship of anime games >he doesn't know check the store page
They didnt do it solely because of the backlash. You forget how gabe instantly became the villain on the internet when that happened.
Mason Martin
That just means he listens to his customers and changes things they don't like. I don't understand why we should criticize him for that
Jordan Hughes
you can't possibly be this retarded
Kevin Wood
I'm more concerned with the strange spy-ware like behavior in their application. It loves to crawl folders while you aren't even in a game randomly and also uploads a huge amount of data. So at the very least, they're using you as a node to upload games to other people. Probably hiding spy data in there as well. I'm sure for now, it's just used to spy on the chinese people and they mostly don't care about americans. Yet.
Nathan Ortiz
Here is the problem with Epic, competition is better, but you know what isn't competitive? Signing back door deals for exclusives. When a product is exclusive, there is no competition. Epic can't compete in a fair competition, and that is why they sign exclusive deals. Epic needs to make a better store/platform with more features than steam that benefit the user. Otherwise, why would I want to use the epic store? I don't care about devs making more money, that doesn't affect me, what I care about are features that make my experience better.
Cameron Torres
I will take good care of her I promise
