What are Yea Forumss thoughts on Fate/Extella Link?
Is it a good game?

Maybe FGO isn't the reason this franchise has gone to shit.

This has nothing to do with the thread or the questions being asked. Stop shitposting.

FGO is the reason it's gone to shit but Extella was a shit universe from the first game so you can't really expect much from them.

Extalla was actually shit from before being released since Extella/Zero was a thing

I pirated it and thoroughly enjoyed it and was actually glad the story mode was so short since it came out shortly before Sekiro so I was going to have to stop playing it anyway.

Extella took a big fat shit on CCC and made a mockery of Liz's character grow and development.

She's much better as a cute dork

But the reason they gave up on anything interesting with liz is because of fags like who would rather put all the bad stuff in Carmilla

Main story is a massive step down from the first Extella- it feels like it was written with the intent to be a DLC/expansion story, then they decided to make it a full-sized sequel while keeping the story they wrote roughly the same, only tweaking it to pad the run time (the three endings aren't different enough from each other to justify having three different branches) and retconning out the parts of the first game that would make certain characters unusable as allies (yeah, Extella 1 also pulled the classic Nasuverse sequel trick of "base the sequel off of an ending that you can't get in the previous game" on Extra but unlike Extra Extella 1 had a single true ending, eliminating the need for that.)

>Main story is a massive step down from the first Extella
It's a step down in length and scope but at least it doesn't actively ruin the game like the Nerowank in Extella did.

There's already an ERP trap thread up.
They're probably all in there.

It ruins the game with its intense mediocrity instead.

NO BB
NO BUY

I don't know why people whine about the Nerowank when everything else about the game was awful too. Hell, the Nerowank became slightly more tolerable after having to deal with Tamamo's shittyness.

This triggers me.

Isn't it like three hours long?

thank god we don't need her shitty ass to make this mess of shit game even more intolerable

How's Tamamo in Link? Is she even relevant?

The only "relevant" servants in the story are Charlemagne/Karl. The story is like 5 hours long and there's barely anything to it other than "Karl doing bad thing, help Charlemagne stop him".

Reminder that Gilgamesh is literally a battery in this game.

The first game is better in every way except cast of characters, so unless you really care about the servants added in LINK, you shouldn't get that one, and just play the first Extella.

>The first game is better in every way except cast of characters
And gameplay. Extella Link was at least a competent Musou, the original Extella was a chore to play.

hello

Link removes leveling up and gaining new moves, the skill system they added is shit, and encourages you to just use up your skills all on every cooldown. The only part they improved is the Drive, which was the worst part about the first game.

Extra was not even a good direction for TM in the first place. Along with F/Z, it cemented the fact that they could get away with just recycling the Fate principle in different scenarios with new servants so long as they had a Saber analogue, and at least F/Z had the slim justification of being an FSN prequel with OG Saber. It set a bad precedent.

BB is too good for extella

There was nothing wrong with F/Z. Pretty much everything about it was already established and it provided additional context that makes F/SN even more interesting. HF is a much more interesting route when you reread it after having witnessed Kiritsugu's journey.

Which is why I said:
>at least F/Z had the slim justification of being an FSN prequel with OG Saber.
But it's still just as guilty of being "here's Fate again with different characters", it demonstrated they could keep milking the premise without much effort, though admittedly it was a story worth telling with respect to FSN.
Extra didn't even have that. I'd also argue that Prisma falls into the same category but it didn't really do quite the same thing.
