The Yakuza games play mostly the same so people do get burnt out, not to mention that after the controversy, people just simply lost interest in the franchise as a whole.

It's the Dragon Engine done right.
They've finally realized how to really make the Dragon Engine work well.
Y6 was disappointing in that aspect, Kiwami 2 was a step in the right direction and Judgment is what they've been working towards. Best Dragon Engine gameplay.
