I wish the anime had adapted up to Volume 4. Volume 3 is a goddamn masterpiece, and Volume 4 is damn scary with the stuff they have to fight in there.
I heard as much and Im really content to leave the anime as it stands. I think it's actually a nice sort of stopping point if a bit anti climactic. Nothing is resolved but it feels sort of personal. Life is shitty but it goes on and there are enough small victories to make it meaningful.

Volume 3 has a full siege on an orc fortress, Haruhiro and the party incur heavy loses. Volume 4 deals with the aftermath of Volume 3, and the party eventually ends up facing their biggest challenge yet. They grow massively not only at their jobs, but also as people and ends up in a more interesting, but similar note to volume 2, which is where the anime stopped.
Sounds like it would have been interesting. Despite what I'd say I'd certainly watch it. At least until they go full retard.

When I used to play Everquest on PS2 healers were a hot commodity. Same with vanilla WoW. I just never saw the appeal of healing myself, but at acknowledged it was the best way to get parties. Later on I rolled a conjurer for my first time trying FF14, but the early dungeons werent very challenging or stressful compared to WoW's healing.
I tried to play healer in 14. It was a dreadful experience and I never got terribly far
