>after the ending the you are put back in the game from the very beginning

Attached: fasc.jpg (1024x576, 77K)

I fucking HATE this, feels like you achieved nothing, even shit like this is bettee

>The ending of the game story starts out at the beginning of the game, and most of the game is just you working your way up to that scene.

K I N O

Attached: amazed roman.png (289x418, 36K)

what's the best version of this? being dumped back into the world post final mission with a few new story missions showcasing life after the conclusion of the story?

TWEWY probably had the most fun implementation of post-game I've seen, with some great new content and the ability to simply go back and replay whichever section of the game you wanted

>Beat entire game, save the world or whatever
>People treat your character the same, no one even mentions it

Attached: yeh.png (633x352, 45K)

I hate this, it pretty much kills my motivation to keep playing the game

fuck you mega man battle network

Quite the opposite. Putting you before the boss allows to turn tail and roam the game some more with your entire progress. Putting you at the start out right cancels your progress and THAT feels like you achieved nothing.

>jannie instantly nuked this post
lol

Witcher 3 had one of the worst cases that you're dumped after the final mission BUT it's a empty world... every single npc is gone, you can't talk with yenn, triss, lambert, ciri etc that fucking sucked back then, at least with blood and wine one of them pays Geralt a visit on his house and stays there

Attached: images (1).jpg (310x402, 16K)

The first thing I had in mind was skyrim, Anything else?

what was it?

>type character
>get banned

I don't think post-game is THAT rare. But the first thing I thought of was Rabi-Ribi. Actually that one might even have post-post-game.

Attached: 41234.jpg (1920x1080, 243K)

>ending puts you before point of no return
>post game is now available

Attached: ayy.png (251x192, 71K)

the third letter of the alphabet

Nah, I prefer the feeling of closure, I can always make a backup save before the final boss/mission

Huh didn't beat witcher 3 yet, do they actually have an "after game" ?

I hate Zelda so much for doing this, actually I hate any game that does it.
It's so fucking easy to go for a "congrats you won but the evil minions will conveniently wander around for a while" thing instead of pretending nothing happened

NOOOOO
YOU CAN'T SAY THAT

>game saves after point of no return
>gives no indication that it has happened
>no new game+ so you're locked out permanently

Attached: darn.png (425x429, 203K)

Sorry, I meant story npc, the witcher contracts, side quests etc is all there

>only one ending does that, cause choice is a lie and you are supposed to choose the other one
>also featuring unskippable cutscenes

Attached: 1557681572474.png (622x621, 772K)

>Using 4channel as an A B Cs practice is now a bannable offense

>game doesn't autosave the final mission so you have to spend 40 minutes getting to him again

Attached: 7b2.jpg (320x337, 12K)

This is why i never finished that post game content in berseria.

Furi?

>game automatically kicks you into ng+

Say what you like about DSII, it's QoL changes were generally good ideas, pity they didn't start enforcing it until after Bloodborne.

Harry Potter 3 on PC did this

Forgotton Anne
You need to sacrifice yourself to actually clear the game.

>once you reach the end, the final boss automatically wins

Attached: fuckit.gif (400x216, 2.96M)

Fucking really? I quite liked the idea of the game, but the execution was slap-dash and it didn't seem to have much replay value. That sucks.

>on the second loop

Attached: image.jpg (350x263, 11K)

Take a guess.

Attached: Male Robin.jpg (530x298, 31K)

Closure is already achieved when you get put back to the main menu after credits roll. You chose to reload your completed save, ending your "closure" you are talking about

Does Bloodborne really put you in the very beginning right after to finish the game? I don't wanna play through the entire game again just for the dlc

Why do they do this? I don't get it man do they wanna see us suffer?

Attached: 1559352527581.png (491x503, 360K)

Stop shitting the thread

>after the ending the game deletes your save

Limbo...

>It doesn't tell you that

Attached: black science guy.jpg (650x560, 156K)

>At the beginning of the game if you turn around and walk forward it takes you immediately to the end boss
>If you beat them, you can continue playing the game in reverse order
>This is how you get the secret ending

You can just ignore the final boss until after the DLC, especially considering where it's situated. Just do everything up to that point and then do the DLC.

no u

You do it for free.

>after the ending the you are put back in the game from the very beginning with everything harder

Attached: 1559445654778.jpg (500x375, 36K)

>The only way to get the true final ending requires specifically deleting all your save data

>npcs actually acknowledge your journey and they give you all the credit for it

Pokemon Ranger was nice on this, instead of doing the "you saved the world but you're still a baby rookie kid ahah :)" shit rpgs like to do they actually call you a pro.

c...?

cunny.

>Game freezes straight after with no choice but to redo it
>Want the 100% save

Attached: 1508863263078.png (1280x720, 550K)

Had to make a second save file to explore the world cuz that was so bullshit. Locked Into that one temple and upon loading up just goes into a cutscene which leads to the final boss with no way back.

>You're still dad to me, even if you aren't my real dad.
That's kind of cute.

>tfw you will never be a peaceful refugee

>>It's nonsensical
They trained, fought and bonded alongside eachother for who knows how long. Venom was a fake, but he wasn't lying to them, his leadership and comradery was genuine.
>This guy isn't real Big Boss, better abandon him for the real Big Boss who used us all as a decoy and lied to us!

I mean, how did they find out about Venom? Did he tell them himself?

Probably. Or Zanzibar land became known, or Kaz told everyone, that cripple fuck.

Must've been a very uncomfortable conversation.
>"Boss, what do you mean?"
>"I'm actually a medic who served onthe Mother Base. I went into a coma, and Zero with Revolver Ocelot made me a plastic surgery (somehow even changed my voice) and then hypnotized me into believing I'm Big Boss. I'll still remain as Big Boss here because he's just so damn cool. They didn't tell Kaz, though. Yeah, these three are my good friends."

I guess we can just leave the apocalyptic dragon flying up there forever while we screw around with DLC and paralogues

>DD troops just think it's one of his episodes and are glad he isn't standing around awkwardly in the helipad for hours anymore.

Attached: 1559479876188.png (1171x1139, 606K)

What game does that?

I hate that shit.

I think tales of games usually do this well.

>beating the final boss allows you to walk back through the entire world talking to npcs, dropping characters off back at their home until you finally get back to the main characters house

kino of the highest order, every rpg should do this

Attached: HorribleSubs_Pop_Team_Epic_05_1080p.png (1920x1080, 1.11M)

>as you drop the last one off and you enter your home, it hits you.
>you'll never see them again, they'll all move on with their lives, there's nothing to hold you all together and life is complicated, you're all likely going to drift apart.
A-At least we have the memories.

Name 10 (at least one) games.

Earthbound

Undertale does something like this

Dragon Quest I to XI

Persona 4 and 5

Atelier Sophie.

Jackie Chan

You had one goddamn job, user.

I think Xenoblade chronicles x did it best, where it was just like "well the main stories over, but you're welcome to do what ever you want and find things you miss"

>universe reborn
>mc and allies live as angels

fuck you, ever17 is great

the "bad" ending in witcher 3 was depressing as all fuck.

>looks ike you reach a bad end
>get send back to the beginning of the game
>the game can actually go on from there

>game tells you it wound the clock back.

Attached: inFAMOUS 2.png (1440x407, 344K)

You're not actually putting E17 as an example of that right?
Also that cinematic is great

I meant that specific part of the four endings as an excuse to post it - I agree, ever17 is amazing

MADE IN HEAVEN
MADE IN HEAVEN
IT WAS ALL MEANT TO BE

Star Ocean 3 does this but it at least unlocks 2 mini endgame dungeons that unlock the final larger endgame dungeon

Fucking jannies stalking the thread like FBI instead of straight up deleting the pedobaiting OP

Hang on, why was a regular reaction image deleted? This makes no sense mods

No it doesn't you liar.

What was the OP image?

Xenoblade is far from being the first JRPG to do that, zoomer

>not using Tomorrow

>his eyes can't handle bright colors

He's not wrong, after you beat Asriel you can backtrack to the start of the game and talk to every single NPC with new dialogue.

Yes. I think my favorite was The Thousand Year Door because I didn't expect it at all. The original Paper Mario didn't go that extra mile, it just dropped you back into the eternal limbo of the final save point and it's a long fucking walk back. In TTYD you get to wander around looking at all the little NPCs re-examining their lives after the narrowly averted apocalypse and it just feels great

user that better not be the deleted image.
