No Gacha is good just for the fact they're all grindfests with gated content that tries to strongarm you to pay for shit. FFBE was decent for a while if you liked sprites but I quit just before the fire and feces storm in JP that global is just now getting into. I play Epic Seven casually because the graphics are fucking fantastic for a mobile game, but it's heavy energy gates and the cash shop is incredibly overpriced.

GBF will always be the best but that aside i like Sdorica and Another Eden. Waiting for Pokemon Masters i hope it's not as shit as Fire Emblem Heroes

Girls' Frontline is great if you like a good story. I find the problem with most Gacha games is that their stories are crap. They try to focus on too many characters and everyone ends up feeling flat and forgettable.

Girls' Frontline takes a different approach in that it doesn't revolve around the player (the commander) and instead is about a couple specific characters. It ends up being way better.

M16 bullies 416, and 416 is best girl. So that downranks her a lot.

I'm enjoying GFL but the story is fucking incomprehensible. Like, it's interesting, it's engaging, but I have NO CLUE what the fuck is going on.

You can tell the translation efforts are average at best, which hampers it to begin with. Large pieces of it are missing because they're to do with events that are now gone, and a HUGE amount of it is either completely unexplained mysteries, or backstory that we learn far after the main events.

Follow the story and you've got a scene where 416 fucks up M16. Why did she do that? What the hell happened there? You never learn, it's never addressed in the main story. You have to get a specific snippet from a specific event that hints about what maybe happened in the past.

STAR just fucking killed herself? Why? She knows that her enemy is a dummy so killing it is pointless, and she knows she can't bring herself back? What exactly is the point of killing herself to take out a Dummy?

And goddamn, I didn't understand any of STAR's whole arc. Lemme see if I've got it right... She was born, she wanted to be an Elite in the Elite AR team, but she was told to take orders from the novice M4A1 and she resented it so she wouldn't be M4's friend? But she actually really did like M4 and wanted to be friends with her? Did I get that right?

It's a very ambitious story told in the most incomprehensible way possible, told largely out of order, and with dodgy translation. It's frustrating.

Most Gacha games are pretty grindy, liking the story is about as good of a reason as any to play them. Even if the gameplay is good, the grind eventually makes it tedious rather than fun.

No, 416 has had a hard life she didn't deserve. She's dedicated, smart, controlled and caring. She doesn't deserve all the hard times she's had. Which is why I'm glad 9 is with her, because 9 is a ray of sunshine in any team and I'm sure 416 appreciates that a lot.

Have you played Fire Emblem Heroes? It's a really legitimate version of a SRPG streamlined into a mobile game and in some ways actually better than the mainline game Yeah, I said it. Crits are and always have been fucking dumb in a permadeath simulator. Specials are way better. I only slightly miss Dodge but I don't miss "90% hit missed!" at all. In Heroes you know exactly how your strategy will play out

High level gameplay is pretty much puzzle solving in a pretty intense fashion, the Legendary Hero Battles don't mess around at all. You can make them easier for yourself by getting the best heroes with the best skills and making them +10, but they'll still be a challenge. And you can substitute any amount of Heroes/Skills with strategy. There's many videos of guides showing how to beat the hardest maps in the game with the free units, using free skills or no skills.

It's got some issues, but in terms of actual Gameplay, it's lightyears above the kind of RPG autobattle bullshit almost every other gatcha game makes up.

Alternatively, play GFL because it's great.

No. There's a good concept behind the core gameplay(layers of rock/paper/scissors and the card attacks) but it is never realized well. All mooks are completely brainless fodder. Every significant encounter is just juggling the rarest/most expensive guys buffs to machine gun your supers or in the early game trying to stack invincibility sources to survive the single full party wipe every boss spams every 3-5 turns.

The only reason you'd enjoy F/GO is if you like the specific insanity of Fate writing which it does a lot of from the start, like Marie Antoinette into fat Caesar with stone popeye arm into Atilla the Hun is a space anime robot laser girl into Blackbeard as an otaku into Edison and Tesla monologuing at each other and Edison has a lion's head and so on. There's fantastic stupid ham villains who don't kill you when you should. It's pure Fate. There's also several badly written parts and most of them are in the first 6 chapters of the game and are often tied to terrible encounters as well. It's pure Fate.

It's one of the cruelest, cheapest gachas in the entire industry and the grinding is sub 10% drop rate dog shit. If you want to stay free to play you will need the patience of a saint or perfect luck. I'm talking sticking with it and grinding dailies for a year to "git gud." I don't care if you've enjoyed F/GO or you have miracle luck and got all the best waifus. As far as an actual honest to God "is it fun?" game goes F/GO is shit. It's OK for burning time if you have frequent downtime associated with work and nothing better to do and even then the same phone you use to play any mobile game could educate you about any number of practical things.

I wasn't really into Fate, I just started playing it because of the NA launch and because I knew someone who had suggested it. I don't really get the hate for it (especially since ti came with a number of QoL that JP didn't start with).

Gacha rates feel like shit but it's gacha, so I expect it to be shit. Even with my E tier luck I've pulled a large number of SRs and SSRs. I like the simple RPS+ turn-based gameplay, with the Mystic Code and individual buffs adding some amount of complexity. It's not like the 1* to 3* are completely useless even, with uselessness being more a product of bad character/skill design and hitting characters regardless of rank.

I usually don't feel like I'm starved for mats that often even as someone who goes for 10/10/10, but maybe I just get lucky with which servants i end up rolling. Only real issue I have with the game is DelightWorks being stupid and not implementing in NA or JP very easy fixes for things that they ought to do.

Free/Welfare servants are considered such because you are guaranteed to get them if you complete their events. You do not have to roll the gacha.

So if you have 300 Saint Quartz and pull the lever 10 times during BB's event, it's very likely you'll come away with a bunch of 3 stars you don't care about and 10 4-star CEs(equipables.) You'd be trying to get Passionlip or Meltryllis. If you clear BB's event you will get BB no matter what, no issue, no random chance, no money down.

Worth playing Gachas:
Destiny Child- Tons of free shit. Can be a top tier player without ever having to spend a dime. Skins cost tons of money but can easily be modded in the game.

Puzzles and Dragons- Fun as fuck. Tons of free shit. Deep RPG/Stat elements. Commons and farmables actually matter meaning no matter how many 9-10s you have, that little 3 star is still valuable and usable.

Mediocre Gachas:
Azur Lane- Really fun gameplay. UI is trash and confusing. Everything costs a shit ton. Art is pedo bait. Saving grace is actually fun gameplay (bullet hell)

I did say I was playing since NA launch, so yes, I've been playing regularly and getting quartz. You know, like you would do it you actively played a game? I put down money only for the guaranteed banner (one of which I got a duplicate, so, yeah). For the first year I got close to nothing and almost every 10 roll I did would be primarily CEs, even more recently I've gotten 10 rolls with 8 CEs and a fairly useless SR. I would consider my luck pretty bad until late last year where things started picking up.

Personally, I saved for about a month on Destiny Child to try and roll when a certain collab came out. I wanted any of the three featured characters and I spent a months worth of saved up crystals to try for them and I never rolled a single one. I did however get tons of other shit I could use so I wasn't all that upset.

I guess to answer your question more directly, use what you get and wait for the next collab. I personally like playing Destiny Child for the story, art and music, it's all really good. Its just something I roll with and check in on every day.

I can understand the sticker shock, but its meant to be like a bi-monthly thing. You do get a shit ton of value for that price though. Like $100+ worth of crystals, 5 star tickets, loads of leveling stuff etc.

Basically if you have duplicates of a 5 star, you can combine them to raise their skill levels. It's not a 100% necessary thing but it does make the characters stronger. You can also decombine them for free.

GBF has nice art but the best I could find there was a werewolf with a waifu attached and a waifu with a dog attached. If you're starting in now, you're in for a grind, but there's no getting around that. Some other gachas are a bit more forgiving and easier to get into.

Hosting takes materials but you get a special drop for hosting. You request backup and others bring the firepower. When you join, you are the firepower. Note that leeching for drops is common and standard practice aside from some muuuuuuuch later fights.

Early on, you can do side stories for an instant boost in power for your grids (they give a level 100 weapon each). Then it's repeatedly hosting and/or joining M1 (magna 1, which is the set of bosses including Tiamat, Colossus, Yggdrasil, Leviathan, Celeste, Luminiera Omegas) raids and hoping for drops.

If a piece of equipment has a weapon skill on it, and is SR or R rarity, it's considered fodder. You combine fodder in certain ways to maximize the points they give. It's a long explanation for how that works so here's the wiki article on it, but don't worry TOO badly about the details for now:

Just know that if you want to make SR rarity weapons into Skill Level 2. From there, your SSRs need a number of Skill Level 2 SRs equal to its current skill level. Do that and your chance to skill up will be 100%. Never consume fodder unless it's 100%.

In the end, Skill Level > Weapon Level. Your raw damage can only bring you so far, but your skill levels will be doing the heavy lifting. There's more to it than this but you'll pick it up as you continue.

Dont read too much into this shit, it might be overwhelming at first, but fear not, DC is the easiest of all gachas to understand and the UI is god tier.

Host requires you to have mats, which on the long term can dry out if you don't farm the chain of raids required to farm those. At sub HL you can just wanpan/ leech other raids by just getting in and hitting orange. Ideally you want red chests, but at this point it'll suffice

Not sure if you are going to make sense of this but basically: you need 2 sklvl 1 Ssrs per current skill level your increasing on regular weapons. When you reach so lvl 5 on the weapon you want to upgrade start using fodder SSRs as one equals 10 SRs when it comes to the success chance. 6-9 has you use sklvl 2 SSRs basically. Bahamut weapons are different beast but forget about them for now, just remember they take way more fodder than these regular ones

Honestly user, I did enjoy DC for the duration that I played it. Got a few great SSRs on my team. But I got pretty bored of the grind and the gameplay. It just didn't feel all that engaging.
The OST is pretty banging though, not gonna lie.

I think this is where DC shines is its so easy to get what you want, but the gameplay itself is lacking. I think DC is more about collecting rather than actual grinding, but it makes collecting fun and the designs are cool, not to mention (again) it's the best gacha to play for free shit. You can get the best units in the game super easily. They hand out crystals and 5 stars like it's nothing.

Rates are gay, yes. You could get a fuckton of SSR CEs and still not get ONE SSR Servant. But if you’re a beginner, complete the first three or four singularities, then enter literal grind hell. Also, get carried by level 90-100 supports, works for anyone and everyone.

Dokkan does hit its stride in fitting perfectly with both casual play and depth. Team building and optimizing your units based off what they do, their roles, and functions is fun but not tedious. Unlike say in Legends where its tedious and really complicated.

AL anniversary is pretty embarrassing to watch, empty hall, empty seats and so on, feel like they're running out of money lol

I think its funny how F/GO only is thriving much less surviving this far because of it being a Fate brand game. The grinding, the style and system of gameplay, they feel like it was already tried and tested back in 2009 or 2010, not a 2015 released one. Even ignoring its absolutely abysmal dumpster-fire tier bad summon rates compared to most other gacha games, even if you get a banner exclusive or non-exclusive SSR, the grind to level up, max out their skills, and ascend them is absolutely bonkers metal bad.

Playing F/GO is so mentally exhaustive, I don't see how if you removed the Fate name from it how it would survive at all.
