Would mobile gaming as a whole improve if the concept of in-app purchases be eradicated?
Would mobile gaming as a whole improve if the concept of in-app purchases be eradicated?
in app purchases are literally the only reason mobile """gaming""" exists, so if not existing period is an improvement, sure.
Unique inputs that are impossible on a traditional controller can be done on touchscreen. I think dismissing mobile gaming entirely because it is full of predatory blight is dumb. Then again this is what happens when a platform is made predominantly for and by retards.
Games like Downwell and Subterfuge are pay to play and utilize phone controls. They're just the minority because freemium games are so fucking lucrative and you can fool people into spending hundreds for literal JPGs of anime girls.
>literal JPGs of anime girls.
Literally only reason to play mobile games. If that isn't what you're looking for, why even bother with mobile. Games on PC and consoles are a million times better, and playing a good game on mobile takes a lot of concentration which kinda defeats the only reason you'd play a mobile game in the first place - you don't have the opportunity to play something better and more requiring of attention.
Yup, reading VN on your phone is really satisfying, too bad they locked the choices behind a paywall.
all the modern gen controllers have touch feedback and they all tried to shoehorn in smartphones at the start (especially when the xbone was launched by zynga's former CEO), it didn't go anywhere. Same for the uDraw tablet.
in app purchases are in console games. your shitty anime game has it, your shitty nba game has it, and your shitty sony pony game has it.
my real issue is touch controls. Apple refuses to let me use an xbox or ps4 controller with an iphone/ipad so mobile may as well not exist to me. Thank god for Nintendo
>gaming
>on Apple products
based retard
Apple's mobile products are the strongest and fastest on the market. And Apple isn't sending your information to China. Your emperor God even uses Apple.

>in-app
>app
kys op and also any other fag that calls software programs apps
Nah, the main problem are the shitty touch controls. It limits gameplay tremendously.
lay back down in your coffin gramps
>software programs
you mean applications?
this
they should just make something like pspgo sliding screen with controller on all iphones so everyone else copy it
until then mobile games will be casual
No, that the reason Yea Forumseebs play mobile games.
They craving for .png waifu
>I think dismissing mobile gaming entirely because it is full of predatory blight is dumb
It's virtually the only thing available, not "just full".
Look at the other mobile gaming recommendation thread. All people recommend is either the least cancerous gacha stuff, or emulators. No one ever mentions a real game because it would seem there's simply none at all.
i think you might be a retard
>All people recommend is either the least cancerous gacha stuff
I see you have not read the thread.
How is "Threes" gacha?
Yes
That brief era of when the app store first launched was great, lots of great games and variety.
I've gotta say, it really bums me out that Facebook moms and teen girls and shit killed mobile gaming in its crib. These idiots who think it's ridiculous to spend money on entertainment like video games, yet they'll happily buy overpriced Starbucks frappachinos and shit. It's these people that were stingy as fuck, scoffed at the idea of spending maybe $10 on a mobile game, and now we're here in this F2P nightmare hellscape where every app in the universe wants you sending them $1-5 every hour or so.
We could've had an entire market resurgance of genres like turn-based RPGs designed for mobile devices if people were willing to pay even half of the retail price of a modern game for something on mobile. I'd happily pay more for an actually good game that isn't an unfun waste of storage on my phone.
Oh well, at least it's easy to emulate Genesis and Super Nintendo games on it, I guess.
>literal JPGs
Paying for a download is just as bad and is the only legal way to play new games on PC
