Round1 at the mall. Perks of living in the Seattle suburb area.

Last year in Tokyo
Only worthwhile shit in there is the racing games

I bet she's puffy

The last time I was in an arcade was when we played Pac-Man all the time in the 80s. You would play through a level on the screen and then you are able to get more coins and go to higher levels.

We'll still have that here as we're working on the levels. If you think you've got some time and don't want to sit through that then you'll be able to download the update for free. This will be a free update for all Steam owners and users.

At our last PAX East convention I have heard complaints that we were late. I'm curious as to if they know what we expect? We're expecting to go out within a week or two.

We're looking at it like this: we've only got about half a day before we have to leave. We're going to go back and get our heads into gear with testing and then we'll leave after having shipped everything and then we'll see what the community think. We're very patient people. We don't want people to give us negative feedback for delays and things like that. We don't take it personally. We have that in place. I'm not going to let you down!

I was very lucky that we're on Kickstarter. We started out going to PAX East and just trying to catch up with the schedule because that's where all of our funding

When Tekken 2 was released in the states, and not the ps1 release, the arcade release.

15+ years

2002

Last friday me and my QT azn gf went to Dave and Busters, and while it's fun arcades really are overpriced, but they're worth going to every once and a while.

I went to Ocean City last year

they have like half a dozen arcades on the boardwalk but they all have the same exact games, they are all probably owned by the same people

>round 1
Too bad they raised the prices of everything

use to be easy to spend $30 in R1 and get 90+ games in.

like 2 weeks ago

Last year Feb, roughly before it closed down (I had no idea it was shutting down though)

Just wanted to play some st and these hood niggers came during my arcade run. One of them played me, his Ken was really good, he genuinely played the game a lot. We did like 12 matches before we ran out of tokens. We both laughed our asses during the whole thing, pretty enjoyable experience. I miss arcades, wish I was old enough when they were relevant.

What the FUCK is wrong with TV shows. I watched the first episode of this and it seemed like a watch. Then out of nowhere they fastforward like a year and the characters age and the show completely changes and is completely different from the first episode.

Why the FUCK does every show have to turn into a romance. Sword Art Online is actually pretty fun to watch for 10 episodes until SPOILER ALERT they beat the game and the show is then a romance from that moment on where the MMO completely doesn't matter and it's no longer about video games at all and it's a romance show about some girl and total lame shit instead of dope power levels and vidya. FUCKING SHIT.

FUCK almost had it

i wanna play on real bike

Attached: hangon.png (1390x1033, 565K)

That's not an arcade you zoomer piece of shit.

>generalizing arcades using the absolute worst "arcade" in existence as your benchmark
Arcades are not overpriced.

This

I was in the Philippines 3 months ago and they have arcades with tekken 7 at every mall. Shit was cash

Only arcade in my area closed in 2009.

Well it's the only arcade around where I live.

Last Tuesday. Played hours of Pop'n and ID8. Probably gonna go back tomorrow

Stop watching garbage like this and SAO you fucking dweeb lmao

Born in 1997 in the burbs, so never

When did they raise the prices?
I went to one for the first (and only) time so far back in August and I only got though about half of my $30 credits in the few hours I was there

Shit now that I think about it I wonder if they expire actually.

about a month ago. I don't enjoy it. They have a bunch of old games that aren't fun anymore like The Simpsons, Pacman, Mario Bros. The only reason I go is to play Street Fighter but everyone sucks ass now I don't know where all the good players went to.

I'm just saying why couldn't SAO just be more of the first 10 episodes where it was about playing an MMO and powering up and guild drama and ganking and shit. Instead they just cut it off and "you beat the game" and fucked the show.

I go to arcades regularly because I have actually googled "arcade" and found the good ones in my city.

like 2 weeks or so when i was going to the movies, but most of the machines at the place I went to were being replaced with emulation boxes running mame

When i clocked out from work.

Half of these are absolute garbage.
What a senile old fuck.

Hi score girl is an amazing manga. The anime definitely did it justice. Get past the first episode though cause they had rushed it 4 koma style

I'm 1997 too but I've been to arcades that they had in random restaurants and movie theaters. I probably haven't been to one since the mid 2000s though

Roughly 2 months ago in April.
At the start of the year games use to cost a lot cheaper till April hit.

Had to google the old prices and found one on Reddit.
One game of IIDX costs $1.07.
IIDX is now around $2.50 within credits the last time I went.

Whatever the old prices use to be is 2x is just about
I know for a fact Sound Voltex at least my local round 1 use to cost 3.6 credits and now it's 6.2 credits.

But I don't go often so I can't complain too much, I just wish they would fix the sound voltex machines since the knobs are beyond damage now because idiots like to hit the machine.

>Shit now that I think about it I wonder if they expire actually.

To answer your question since I forgot, no I don't think they expire but I did have a membership card back when it was worth it so the credits might last longer on that card.
I'm not sure if I even recommend the card to anyone now that the prices went up.

Last week, my home town has it's own theme park with rollercoasters etc and about 12 arcades all along its sea front.
It's a pretty cool place, but not many arcade games I'm interested in. One still has Turtles and SFII though.

Just a few hours ago. I finished play 6 hours of DDR and I'm going to regret it in the morning.

This anime fell off so hard

Earlier today to play In The Groove for a nickel per song. It has every DDR song and downloaded bonuses/a modded version accessible through the konami code.

I wish I could call you a liar but I've heard about the crazy shit ITG can do so it's probably real.

what wasn't the manga good?

El Salvador here. Last year. We only have a couple of shady ass arcades that act as a front to sell pot. Lots of shitty broken pachinko-like tables, a few hacked cabinets with every fucking rom available, a couple of ps3 with a timer, and a pump it up machine.

2016. Akiba. Arcade is overrated.

The machine has a USB slot and some onboard memory as there are songs with an icon that looks like a usb on the machine. My camera takes pictures over 4mb otherwise I'd have a pic of the song post's different aesthetic and the playlist browser. It has a couple WarioWare-alikes under challenges the chinks play.

Six years ago in Japan. I just realized I didn't take a single picture of the dozens of arcades I went to. Can't say I enjoyed it aside from some novelty games. The vast majority of them were filled with people smoking and playing fighting games.

Attached: WP_000715.jpg (2592x1944, 672K)

Depends on the definition. How many machines does it need to create an arcade? I played In The Groove two months ago at a cinema, but weirdly that's the only machine they have.

And last autumn I played Pac-Man and other classics at an convention, so that doesn't really count as an arcade either...

Arcades, in general, have become extremely rare here since the late 90s. That is when a local chain closed for good.

Sometime last year I went into a Round One at my mall, I should probably go there again sometime.

I remember playing Time Crisis with my brother a few years ago. I forgot how much fun it could be just to chill at the arcade.

do barcades count? if not, then maybe never. I mean, arcade games are here and there around the place, but a dedicated establishment for videogames....
the closest would probably be this storefront in a dying mall near me that sold all kinds of gaming stuff, but they also had 20 or so cabinets set up in the back of the store that were also for sale.

few days ago at a random round1 near osaka

>CGI anime
Why? I was so excited when the manga got picked up for an anime

the answer is always money. cgi is cheaper.

Based, las ruedas used to bring a fuckload of vidya. I finished the simpsons arcade in ateos years ago

Was it ever good to begin with? People tell me it's "the big bang theory" of anime

Yeah, there's one in central London that I went to a couple of times. It used to have Outrun 2 there but they got rid of it for some gay ass Mario Kart 8 shit that's boring. It has a Rhythm Heaven arcade machine as well which was a lot of fun to play. A couple of pool tables, DDR, fighting games, shootemup games, Inital D and other stuff. You usually get burnt out after an hour, but I still like the place.

It's also just down the road from a Japanese bookshop that has loads of cheap manga from Japan, found some decent Kaiji and Akagi volumes there. So it's a great place to go to ever couple of months.

I also went to an airport to pick someone up and that had Outrun 2 there and played that until the person I was meant to pick up arrived. Probably spent £10 on the machine, haha.

>tfw missed my chance to play sit down Space Harrier and Outrun at a convention two years ago because I didn't want to go

Attached: outrun world.gif (500x713, 979K)

If you count movie theaters or something like Dave and busters than i have but i was more referring to an actual arcade

The problem with that anime isn't the CGI, tho...

Why would I willingly go into one of those nigger dens?

When malls in my area weren't abandoned ghost towns.

Attached: Winrock.jpg (3051x1771, 1.12M)

Please go ahead and list which ones are garbage, I need to know just how hard I should laughing at you.

does anyone else bring moist towelettes with them to disinfect the sticks & buttons?

Will there ever be another season of this?

Last month I went bowling and there were some arcade machines, does that count? Otherwise last year.

>go to round1
>no one playing fighting games
>kids are running around playing shitty redemption games
>adults are all down stairs bowling, playing pool or ping pong.
>weebs are in their own corner playing ddr and other rhythm games

feels bad

I went to a Round 1 for the first time recently and I was disappointed they didn't have any older fighting games. The oldest game there was probably SF4

Most people seem play rhythm games at my R1. If someone is playing a fighting game, it's usually Street Fighter 5 or oddly enough, Virtua Fighter 5.

>Street Fighter 5
Meant to say SF4.

Attached: 1409018870010.jpg (600x800, 91K)

In my third world shit hole there aren't any arcades. Sometimes there appear some old arcade machines in children playrooms, but that about it. That said, last time I got to play Virtua Fighter 4. It was, like, 7 or so years ago. Then some little shit broke the 1P joystick and a few months later this machine disappeared for good.

Last weekend. There was a pinball and gaming expo in my city that lasted three days. It was held at the convention center or whatever, of a hotel. It was tons of arcade cabs, pinball machines, rooms with consoles set up, VR demos, tournaments, etc. It was all set on free play, you just had to pay admission into the place. It was amazing, I wish it was held every weekend.

Nice.

It was obviously a romance story from the start, you emotionally immature tool.

I went last month to a Round1 with some friends
I'm having an issue trying to register my NESiCA card to my account
The first game I played with it was SNK Heroines
SNKH gave me a "no name" tag so I couldn't enter that to register my card
I tried playing Groove Coaster with the card and use the name I entered there, but it still didn't work
How do I fix this? I don't wanna get a new card because I'm close to unlocking Say Around in GC

Round 1 in Grapevine, TX

Sadly like another user said prices have doubled in the last couple of months. Theres also only so much Miku, Groove Coaster, Sound Vortext, DDR, and IIDX one can play before growing tired of the JP imports.

The rest are even higher priced shitty redemption machines. That being said I saw they swapped out two older cabs for 1945 and Dodonpachi Daiouji so that was neat.

Was at the Round 1 on Odaiba in Japan about a month ago and its just so much better. Then again, Japan.
