They couldn't even do a PSO2 crossover after PSO2 had a very elaborate XIV crossover. The Garo items in the game took a whole year to make for reference.

But that's not what happened, unless 5.0 content is going to have more damage than previous content. What happened is that SCH lost attacks so they'll just be spamming 1 attack button now. The rate of using healing skills should still be relatively the same.

The MHW crossover still pisses me off. MHW put so much more care into theirs, giving great fights and well done copy of the Dragoon armor with great stats, meanwhile xiv just has a pretty simple trial and their Rathalos armor isn't even real set but their "Eorzean" style of it.

The core issue isn't really that healers should have complex DPS rotations, it's that with the way fights are designed, you only need to be healing maybe 20% of the time, and since overhealing isn't helpful and you're not doing anything else the rest of the time, you just do DPS. So 80% of your time as a healer is devoted to DPS even though the majority of your toolkit is healing and you only have a simplistic DPS rotation.

Healing in this game is designed under the assumption that A: You are a dummy and don't know how to heal efficiently and B: Your party members are dummies and will be constantly making mistakes that you have to correct for. So for good groups, healing ends up being totally brainless since it's so overpowered to account for idiots.

I sympathize with healers but at the same time I'm pretty sick of their whining at this point. You've made it known you're not happy, so either quit, switch jobs, or shut up. The fuck do you want from the rest of us?

PvP can be pretty fun if people understand the basic strategies and will listen to callouts. When you get a group that just fucks around and tunnels the nearest enemy then it's pretty awful.

This annoys me quite a bit, I've had so many wipes during prog in my static due solely to a healer just down right refusing to use a gcd heal, i get it you guys wanna do damage but fuck during prog you might need to heal a little more than someone who has already cleared and optimised the fight.

I couldn't get into WoW because it throws you into the current expansion and you dont know who anyone is, meanwhile pyhrr players gush about their favorite NPCs from three expansions ago and for new players it feels very isolated. In XIV, while playing catchup is a drag if you have friends at endgame and there are multiple lulls in the MSQ that should've been streamlined sooner, you at least appreciate site the world and characters by the time you do catch up in the story.

Endgame is all that matters because both FFXIV and WoW are a "play the patch" type mentality instead of even an expansion. This only makes the problem even worse. Players do the same 2 dungeons and 5 bosses every tier for months and need new stuff to keep them interested because they get fucking sick of doing the same shit for months. When new things release, nobody wants to do the old stuff they spent months doing and the cycle repeats.

FFXIV isn't as bad in this case as WoW but the focus on one-way progression isn't doing the game any favours.

The only way to make a PvE game last for 2 years of daily play is to give it absurd grinding. XIV just gives up on the idea of an MMO being "the only game you need" and makes it easy to play through all the content, and just says "play as much or as little as you like and if you want to leave and come back later when there's more stuff then feel free".

Always crack your mp regen, only use big heals when necessary, use free heals whenever possible.

Lightspeed, Thin Air and Aetherflow heals are there to help you out too. Eos' abilities are cooldowns, use them wisely. Lightspeed+Celestial Opposition stack btw, so you get ~10 fast casted heals, its not only for Gravity spam. Thin Air is usually for dps purposes, as Holy costs a shit ton more MP than your aoe heals and you shouldn't ever need to cast more than Medica 1 or 2 more than twice at a time, 2 then 1 if there's another aoe incoming.

That's why you're supposed to stop playing when you get bored, retard. It takes way less time to play content than to develop it.

Actually, FFXIV could use some world content like world quests. They don't have to tackle them the same way WoW does, but as it is FATEs currently and in ShB really don't seem worth it at all. There's no reason to go to any zones outside of gathering or beast tribe quests (which need an overhaul of their own)

At least in WoW you see people in the world doing shit every hour of the day at max level, even if it is for an AP grind.

FATEs need to be scaled alot more. There's already a system in place that will scale up difficulty if a lot of fates are done in succession to make them harder. The floor needs to bottom out a lot lower. Usually need tokill about 18 mobs to finish a FATE, at the bottom of the floor, make it 6 to 10.

They're also adding more rewards to them outside of exp and a miniscule amount of gil and seals, seals being almost worthless once you get to 2nd sergeant, which is a plus

no? That 2nd finisher is a pretty big deal it adds another 700 potency to their burst damage, additionally, manafication buffs their magic damage by 5% so that 700 potency is more like 735 potency. Contra sixte is on a shorter cooldown now which means more of those as well. Then there's enchanted reprise which gives RDM's more options for doing verthunder-tier damage even if they don't have dualcast up and have to move. Red Mages also have the skill that they can use in place of displacement when displacement can't be used which is a DPS gain in many circumstances because currently there are a lot of times when displacement simply can't be used. RDM is fine.

I'm leveling SAM at the moment. Currently Lv55 and I have a couple quick questions:

1. When I'm AoEing trash packs should I bother trying to set up my self-buffs, or do I just raw-dog the enemy by alternating Mangetsu and Oka to spam the cleave iaijutsu (Tenka Gouken)?
2. For single targets, I should be going Hakaze>Yukikaze>(Higanbanana) then set up my self buffs, right?
3. Currently my only Kenki skills are Kaiten and Gyoten. I should be using them as necessary, to buff Midare Setsugekka and to gapclose, correct?
4. At what point do the positionals become relevant? I've seen people talk about SAM having them, but they're not on my tooltips and I have no idea what to make of this.

1. Get Jinpu (damage up) only. And it's going away in ShB but right now you want to deplete Hagakure> Kyuten spam before moving onto alternating and Tenka Gouken.
2. Buff priority is strongly Kasha (speed), Jinpu (damage), Yukikaze (slashing). Do not use Meikyo Shisui to get them, do the combo chains. There are some variations in when you apply Higanbana depending on your SkS but generally doing it between Jinpu and Gekko is best.
3. Kaiten importance: Higanbana >>>> Midare , then once you get Shinten and Seigan your remaining Kenki goes to them.
4. As soon as you have them they're relevant. In spite of public opinion when you do the math missing SAM's positionals is the biggest DPS loss out of the melees.

You only need the damage buff for AOE. Do a Jinpu Combo then spam your AOEs alternating. Unlike your normal rotation, it's acceptable to not snapshot Jinpu when you refresh it, if you need to in a single pull. AOE priority with less than 10 mobs is Guren > Kaiten'd Tenka Goken > Kyuten. With more than 10 mobs it's Guren > Kyuten so spend all your kenki on kyuten in xbox heug pulls.
For single target it depends. If you're the only one in the party with slashing debuff you put up the slashing debuff, get up your damage buff and DOT, then your speed buff. If there's a WAR or NIN in the party, you get up your speed buff, then damage buff and DoT, then finish the combo and Meikyo.
SAM's kenki shit is awful until 62. Until then just conserve kenki to buff your DoT and Midare.
You have positionals on your tooltips, read them. You get 5 more kenki for hitting them.
