Tekken is a good 3d figther to get into since the game is very consistent across entries and has a large following.

SC6 is another good 3d fighter that's more casual and for fun.

SFV is the most played 2d fighter but is extremely polarizing. Some fans hate it, some put up with it.

DBFZ is a fun little rushdown 2d figher, though not very complex.

GG xrd rev 2 is a decent arcsys figther but is kinda dead now. Blazblu is in the same boat.

Unist is experiencing an upsurge in popularity and isn't super hard to grasp.

MK11 is fun for what it is. Like all other MK games it will be dead in 3 months.

You don't need to know all of King's chain throws. At most you need to learn his crouchdash ones, but he is still strong without them. Paul is very good too.

If you want to play online T7, no question. SFV online is a fucking joke.

Everyone is viable, Paul is super easy execution wise and makes for a good first char for the most part, barring 100% optimal autist combos

What kind of movement should I be using to make space if I can't kbd? I feel like a single backdash doesn't go far enough to feel safe, and I imagine sidestepping and side walking should only be used to actively evade.
