imagine paying premium for an old ass game to the same people who ruined said old ass game
>paying premium
what do you mean by this
I'm gonna grind 1000 gold as fast as I can so asmongold can get an epic mount. Maybe he will even say my name on stream
he means wow is f2p for the first few levels, I think. Ergo "premium" would be the standard package.
This image always depressed the fuck out of me.
You're finally going back to /vg/?
>People will unironicly think they will 'go back to basic wow' just because of a re-release
I think streaming will definitely have a dysgenic effect on classic wow
>willingly paying a monthly sub to play an old shit game
lmao
this fuckin quirky little funneh XD gnome triggers me so god damn fuckin much
i can already tell he quit the game before level 25 after geting ganked once in duskwood
k
>Never had friends in classic
>Still don't
WoW is fucking shit anyway.
>random player enjoying himself
>grrr me so mad
I bet you've never done a /dance in your life
Im already playing on private server, it never died.
WoW has and always will be shit, biggest normalfag indicator ever is if you've actually eaten that dogshit. Real men played UO, Everquest, or Guild Wars.
there will certainly be an initial flood of players
already a crazy level of hype, more than some of the recent expansions
clan leader was bitching the other day that we could try this game, or that new game coming out but that "Everyone will be going to WoW." so we were almost obligated to check it out
>Real men
real men don't play MMOs you piss-drinking faggot
No we wont
It'll be the same as OSRS
It'll look like the old game but the feeling and community wont be there and itll just be hollow
Legion was unironically the second best xpac or third, depending on your feelings on BC/Wrath
Otherwise that picture is accurate
The community is already there
Yeah
It also was in OSRS
Look what happened
Troll shaman here
>real men don't do whatever the fuck they want regardless of stigma or even justification
Found the panty-waste faggot.
Isnt OSRS still successful?
OSRS is continuing to gain players
And real men don't shitpost on anonymous videogame boards
Jesus fucking Christ I simply can't wait for classic I'm even playing BFA now
Can you prove that?
>Play BfA
>Realize how shitty it is
Why am I even still alive?
And?
It still doesnt feel like actual 06-07 Runescape and it never will
Yes I do.
Oh ok so you're just coping
I'm right and you know i'm right
It'll be big for like 2 months then just fall off
Bottom is pic on launch of Classic.
Middle is 2 weeks after.
As somebody who has never played WoW, is classic WoW actually the best or is it just people blindingly wishing for the same nostalgiac feeling they had back in the day and are delsuionally thinking having the original release back will magically transport them and their lives and the community back to how it was then?
Nostalgia user.
Thats literally all it is.
Its just nostalgia.
Download a 1.12.1 client and find a private vanilla server.
Thats your besr bet of playing it because nu-blizz will fucking ruin it anyways.
didnt play during true vanilla, but played a few private servers and had more fun than I ever did on retail
Except it's been bigger than rs3 for a while and is still growing. Cope.
>thinking that many people will be playing classic
cope
If they introduce a separate cheaper classic only sub option i'll go back, otherwise nah.
Nah.
It was just better.
More skills, gear was more complex, builds meant something, leveling and dungeons were a challenge and took a while (BRD was amazing)
Classes felt harder to play
Leveling wasnt just a power through
The world was huge and connected until cata ruined it with flying and breaking everythjng up
Quests required directional sense
PVP was better, remember when fucking warriors had berserk stance? Everything became so simple in the new games.
The new xpacs also removed general world interaction, added shitty PVP maps, and had so much welfare gear.
Something about earning everything instead of rushing the flavor of the month continents in 2 weeks is really unsatisfying because after that its just hoping around dalaran or some shit city waiting for queues.
See anons.
Nostalgia.
Nope, the games went to shit around wrath. It was streamlining and retards that ruined the game.
Making the huge continents not part of the main game essentially makes it a small scope kinda game. You should actually try saying why the new stuff is good. All addon content does now is act as a barrier and is never enjoyed, and is one quest at a time with boring quest markers and shitty vehicle combat.
There are maybe 10 vehicle quests in each expansion since WotLK out of a thousand introduced in each one. They went overboard in Wrath, and though they still use them from time to time, it's much more sparingly.
Oldschool RuneScape is a "new" RuneScape 3. It certainly isn't a true retro-server anymore, but at the same time they completely trashed everything about RuneScape 3 - the graphics overhaul, the new gameplay mechanics, even the plot, and then began creating a completely different sequel to RuneScape 2 in its place. And RuneScape 3 was such an abortion that there are now four times as many people playing the more primitive, alternate-universe RS than the actual main game.
I can't imagine Blizzard would do anything like that.
At the core of every MMO should be a focus on community and placing value on the journey, not just the reward. Vanilla (while not as heavy into it as previous MMOS) had this while retail WoW has been removing it piece by piece since Wrath. It's not a glorified single player game where you can sit in town all day queuing for events, warp to them, do it without speaking to anyone, and then go back to town to sit there on your mount running circles.
>builds meant something
Nah
It was always a case of use the highest DPS on or be shit.
Don't act like it was any different lmao
At least back then you COULD build your character, today you don't even get skill trees.
The truth is WoW is just a giant Chatroom with an okay video game window dressing centered around with it. If you want to make friends WoW Classic was an amazing platform.
I met my first girlfriend in WoW and we used to cybersex chat all the time. Got to visit and bang her in Arizona but then we lost touch after I went to college. Shit was cash though.
>build the wrong thing
>not even able to do content because it's a suboptimal piece of shit
>no one invites you to groups
>well you're not SUPPOSED to play ret or moonkin! you're SUPPOSED to play holy or resto, but you COULD be able to build how you want!
so defensive over your runescape. you MUST be seething
This is the first time I've ever seen Tulsa on Yea Forums
>we're going ho-
He's just stating facts. In 2013, at RuneScape's absolute dying nadir, and shortly after the launch of OSRS, there were 23k active RS3 players and 10K active OSRS players.
By 2015, RS3 had recovered some but OSRS had reached parity - both had 37K active players. From that point forward, OSRS continued to grow while RS3 shrank or stagnated.
By the start of 2018, OSRS was regularly attaining double RS3's player count, 50K vs 25K. As the year wore on, OSRS continued to slowly climb to 60K players, then abruptly jumped to 100K players when OSRS for Android launched. In the last six months, it's stabilized at around 85K players to a paltry 20K who are still in RS3.
Unlike Blizzard, Jagex actually shares live player count numbers with us at all times, anyone can fact check this.
OP literally took this pic from reddit front page, this happens all the time actually and you Yea Forumsedditors eat this shit up
Take another pic after everyone is spread around the areas for leveling retard
You can't go home again
why is Yea Forums so obsessed with wanting classic to fail
It's called learning from your mistakes and playing the game. Yes you have to work with what the game gives you and you can't just throw a dart at the wall to pick a class and have it be optimal at everything.
Nothing will because its not 06 and your not 12 anymore
grow up nigger bitch
>Server 5, shard 8, layer 3, permanently banned after being reported by AssMothGuld's mindslaves for killing a mob he needed for a quest
what class has a healer build thats both good at raiding and duels? i wanna heal in raids but also own at duels without having to respec
cringe cope
>we made the game wrong on purpose, those specs that you can build are noob traps. we designed them to be that way to fuck you over into thinking there was an actual choice
>you can't just throw a dart at the wall to pick a class and have it be optimal at everything.
no one's asking for that you n(ostalgia)igger, they're asking for it to be viable AT ALL. it's not going to stop people from playing those specs, but people are going to bitch because they can't play what they want and have there be some reason to play it.
You don't even believe this OP
They're not coming back user.
You're just hurting yourself holding on like this...
it cant be because mop was better than legion in every single way
All of the "healing" classes like Priest, Druid, Paladin, and Shaman are good in PvP.
Priest is the god of 1v1 as long as you don't get jumped and one shot, so it sounds like what you'd want the most.
Druid and Paladin get honorable mentions for being nigh unkillable and Ele Shaman can nuke the shit out of people as long as they don't go OOM first.
ah yes, i can't wait for overinflated numbers based on private server guesswork. i can't wait to dual wield tank chromaggus which was totally possible and a thing people did on retail.
are you retarded? they already have the proper vanilla values implemented
so you are telling me that holy (which is the build one would use for raiding i assume) is also good for duels? my point was that i dont want to respec and be able to use the same build for duels and raiding, preferably with priority on the dueling since raid will take me even with a suboptimal build anyway i suppose until BWL or NAXX
I too liked killing garry for a year
You've never played a MMORPG, your only experience is with the higly controlled post WoW clones that are built to keep everyone happy by removing all decisionmaking and requirement for the player to learn or better themselves.
Vanilla wasn't perfect and it doesn't need to be, yes some specs are far better than others, yes warrior is the only tank, yes holy paladin is the only optimal spec, and so on and so on. To the people who actually played the game this wasn't a problem, you played the game and didn't force your own agenda upon it. In the vein of old school MMOs if you wanted to tank you picked the class that could tank, you didn't pick something and then cry you couldn't tank. This is why for most people BC is the best era of WoW because it refined the Vanilla experience and above all managed to make all classes/specs good without fully homogenizing them. Warriors, Druids, and Paladins could all tank raids now and there were clear up and downsides to each choice.
But no, judging by your choice of words you are clearly underage and just angry that other people had fun without you.
>don't want to respec
I guess you'd go with Druid in that case. You won't nuke very hard spec'd into resto but you can definitely play to outlast people in duels.
you're really going to enjoy killing KTZ forever then.
don't be autistic just play some new random ass mmorpg that sucks dick like all the others but is free or at least semi free without sub
i'm not reading your retarded essay on why the game design is bad and your projections onto me you absolute boomer.
you're wrong, everyone knows you're wrong, everyone who actually remembers playing vanilla knows you're wrong and you will see it with your own two eyes when the game is actually out again.
>he doesnt know
How would they get full tier sets in two weeks?
ah i was afraid it would be druid, not a big fan of that class
I'm not even a big MMO fan (I know, why am I in this thread) but "There's 10,000 ways you can fuck up your character to be totally unusable and only 3 or 4 builds to viably play the game" was a time-honored staple of every CRPG for decades. Can you really say it's "bad design" when Fallout and Ultima and Planescape and Baldur's Gate all did it?
You mean through the entirety of phase 1? very easily actually.
Well you're both fucking retarded because it has LFG and every other convenience shitty feature. You're picking up dingo shit and dog shit and trying to argue one is better than the other.
based retard that cant read
I don't even have to respond, you've made enough of a fool of yourself.
You couldn't actually fuck your build up permanently in WoW anyway, you could always respec. One key aspect of MMOs was talking to your fellow players, if you were having issues it was up to you to reach out and talk to others, ask them questions, and figure out what you were doing wrong so that you could take that knowledge and grow. There were a few key specs in Vanilla that simply didn't work for one reason or another, back in the day this was just a fact of life you worked around but today it's something that modern day kids simply can't process.
>Look what happened
It overtook modern RS and became a hugely successful standalone MMO?
You fags are really desperate to bring down vanilla when its so clear its going to be a huge success. Why cant you get ignore games you dont like? You have modern WoW and its raiding instanted non-MMO gameplay, and everyone else wants to play a proper MMO like vanilla.
Get over yourselves. Retail WoW is not even in the same genre as vanilla. Its like bitching against GTA for being successful because you like mario kart, makes no sense.
It won't be the entirety of phase 1.
This is the only way to save Warcraft going forward but I really don't think Blizzard has the brains to make the decision. WoW has chewed up so much lore you can't keep going much longer and it also blocks WC4 from existing, and the current state of the game is so bad that even casuals have turned against it. Not to mention it's also just an old game, it's not going to grow at this point regardless.
Starting a new alt timeline off of Classic makes the most sense but yeah, Blizz probably won't go for it.
