Why not buy a small free standing air conditioner for one room? They're not expensive.

I have a gym membership and go there instead of staying in my house when it gets really hot. I also took summer classes last year so I could sit inside of a freezing college too.

I live in the jungles of North Florida, and only have window units. It’s quite an old and large house, and would be quite expensive to install full AC. Sweating is just part of life here.

It's supposed to do that. The evaporation of sweat is a key component of the heat transfer process. If your sweat doesn't evaporate you are not effectively cooling your body. You are going to feel a LOT more uncomfortable and have a higher risk of things like heat stroke under those conditions.

Before I had aircon I tried different methods of cooling myself in the summer, here are some good ones if your room gets hot while playing games:

>Take really hot showers, cold showers don't do a damn since your body just ups your temperature even more, by taking hot showers your bodies temperature lowers so you don't overheat. It feels really good when you walk out of a hot shower on a hot day.

>Drink cold water, shit helps a decent amount.

>Wear lightly colored shirts and shorts and block off the sun coming into your window with some thick curtains or just tape and garbage bags

>Open as many windows as you can so there's some air flowing through your place

I live in Ireland, effectively no homes have AC so when it's warm during Summer you need a fan in pretty much every room.

That's good. Imagine the same heat but 90% humid. Your sweat doesnt evaporate for shit and nothing cools you off and you just get dripping wet even if its 80 degrees, which is a fucking great temperature in drier climates. In humid ones even 70 degrees is pure aids. Any little moist heat creates this huge barrier of sweat that just helps cook you better

A decent window AC unit has to be less than $1k, right? Maybe $400?
I can't imagine living south of Canada and not having one. As a kid I visited friends in trailer parks and even they kept that shit ice cold 24/7.

I live in Russia so our houses are made of brick and not cheap polyester cardboard like the states, so heat stays trapped in no matter what
It's also fucking inefficient to buy any sort of AC or central air since it's only hot during 3 months whilst being freezing the other 9
