Basically this is most likely, but I do think that it will be characters that get many people excited. For example, I don’t care about DQ or Microsoft/Rare characters outside of Slime and Battletoads, but it’s undeniable that they’d cause a big splash.

I think Japanese presence is a bigger issue than violence. Skyrim was really popular in Japan but I'm not so sure about DOOM.

I think you could remove any overt gory violence and instead present him as a almost comical brute. Feature the more creative sci fi weapons instead of the realistic shotgun if that’s too much. It may still be too much.
