Can you recommend me an actual good horror game?

Penumbra
System Shock 1&2
Thief 1&2

superb taste my fren
Penumbra was fucking kino

Until Dawn and Deadly Premonition. They’re not scary but they have interesting stories (specially DP) and doesn’t have shitty ass puzzles that forces you to watch a walkthought in youtube, so they are win in my book

Darkwood.

Silent Hill 1&2
American McGee's Alice

>tfw I couldn't personally finish DP because it kept crashing for me near the end so I had to watch the rest

Dead Space 1 & 2. The first one is scarier but clunkier and the second one is more action-oriented but the gameplay is a lot smoother.

fatal frame 1
fatal frame 2

which one?

SILENT HILL SUCKS
RESIDENT EVIL SUCKS
AMNESIA SUCKS
DEAD SPACE SUCKS

CONDEMNED IS THE ONLY FUCKING HORROR GAME AND YOU FAGS HAVE NEVER PROVEN OTHERWISE

came here to post this

What platforms?

It's scarier because it's clunkier. It takes so long to turn around in that game you have to always watch your back.

Any S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, but especially Call of Pripyat

Overture is my favourite

black plague

Fuck off then and play with your mom´s pussy

Call of Cthulhu: DcoE

curse: the eye of isis

>CONDEMNED IS THE ONLY FUCKING HORROR GAME
How exactly are you defining horror shitposter-chan?

two words
>Horror
and
>Game
If it doesn't have both, it isn't a horror game.
Resident Evil has neither Horror nor Gameplay. RE4 has gameplay, but no horror.
Amnesia had neither horror nor gameplay
Silent Hill has some horror but no gameplay.
Condemned has horror AND gameplay. Therefore it is the only horror game ever made.

Action horror:
The suffering 1/2
Dead space
REmake 1/2 (and the originals if you love shitty voice acting and tank controls, but charm too)
Re4
Re5(if you got a bro to play with)
The evil within 1/2

First person horror:
Re7
Amnesia
Penumbra
Condemned
Outlast
Clive barkers undying
Call of the cthulhu DCotE
System shock 1/2

Not horror, but kinda Scary, or has horror bits:
FEAR
American McGee's alice
Fran bow
Bioshock

General horror:
Silent hill 1-3, 4 if you keen on some weird shit that is scary but janky.
Forbidden siren
Haunting grounds
Rule of rose
Alone in the dark
Uninvited
Alien isolation
Darkwood
Until dawn

Those are what I'd recommend off the top of my head.

Forgot,
Add stalker, doom 3 and metro 2033 to the not horror, but kinda spoopy list.

Well you may be retarded, but at least you tried to be logical about it I suppose.

tell me the appeal of a game like Amnesia, please
>It isn't scary
>The "gameplay" boils down to shitty puzzles that are either insultingly easily or retardedly vague
>Also sometimes a "monster" chases you where you just run into a room and stare at a wall until monstergroan.wav stops playing
What is the purpose of playing it?

Heart of Darkness(more of a comedy horror game)
Thief and Thief II(stealth oriented games with horror elements)
Clive Barker's Undying(FPS action adventure horror game)
System Shock and System Shock 2(FP RPG horror games)
American McGee's Alice(an action adventure with horror and comedy elements and disturbing imagery)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R games(FPS survival with horror elements)

You're pathetic.

If you want a modern Survival Horror then Lost In Vivo is great, also Cry of Fear(this ones free)

I like how you try doubling down on Amnesia due to its notieriety of being the precursor to streamer bait instead of further attempting to attack the classics. I'll humor you however by first stating that something being scary is subjective and secondly by stating that just because the gameplays to main bulks in Amnesia is easy, doesnt mean it isnt gameplay like you are implying. It's a glorified point and click with a great atmopshere and decent story. That is the appeal of Amnesia

I tried Lost In Vivo and just deleted it after maybe 20 minutes
>Get sledgehammer
>Walking around subway, every corridor looks identical so you have to keep pulling up a map to even know where you are
>Go into some room
>Ghosts start flying through the wall and attack you
>Kill with sledgehammer
>They just endlessly respawn

Nah, that game is shit.

Alright, Resident Evil for playstation then
>Shitty tank controls where it takes forever to turn around and your thumb hurts from holding square all the time
>Run through corridor
>Run through corridor
>Loading screen
>Run through corridor
>Run through corridor
>Loading screen
>Hold r1 and then keep pressing X until everything dies
>Get key
>Run through corridor
>Loading screen
>Run through corridor
>Loading screen
>Run through corridor
>Loading screen
>Run through corridor
>Loading screen
>Put key in door
>Go through door
>Have to juggle the 12 different keys you need to carry while you only have 6-8 inventory slots
>Run through the same corridor you already ran through
>Loading screen
>Run through the same corridor you already ran through
>Loading screen
>Run through the same corridor you already ran through
>Loading screen
>Run through the same corridor you already ran through
>Loading screen

jesus CHRIST that game was fucking boring and RE2make was no better

And now you are just going to reduce a game to the barest minimum point and keenly ignore the actual elements that make up all those moments you so vaugely described. This will be my last response to you, I've taken to much bait already desu.

Anyone ever play 2Dark and know if it's any good? I've been on the fence on whether I want to get it or not.
