No, it won't stop working, I have never broke a disc, and most of the physical copies I have are DRM free so the game is installed from the disc(s) with no need to keep the disc in to play, if I want to reinstall then I reinstall from the physical copy or a back up. They could always release the games on flash drive instead of disc for subhuman slovens like you that are unable to handle a disc without breaking it. No need for anti consumer cancer like Steam.

No. The series has two main characters, each with his own "Roll". They're the girl with blue digital wings on the left and the one with red wings on the right. The one on the left isn't around anymore. The girl on the right, Lola, is also in this upcoming game since it focuses only on Copen, the white-haired guy. The kid in the screenshots is a new character and is probably more akin to a Kalinka type of character.

Don't fall for his lies. Inafune only had SOME idea suggestions that were implemented into the game. He didn't do jack aside from that.

MN9 was announced for nearly every system possible and they were forced to work with an engine they weren't comfortable with. Add to that Inafune siphoning off money for projects like The Animated Series and Red Ash and you can tell they didn't even have time and resources to playtest out the stuff that didn't work.
Since then, they put out an 8-bit demake in the form of Mighty Gunvolt which is regarded as 'the good version' and Copen's gameplay is basically a fixed version of Beck's absorption mechanic that puts the emphasis on speed instead of caution by putting the dash-into-enemies part before attacking.
I'm not going to argue everything Inti makes is gold, but I do think that MN9 as delivered wasn't entirely their fault and that the releases that followed proved they knew how to fix it.

Voice acting is a much bigger deal in Japan than they are in the US, to the point where VAs can be considered celebrities
Because there has been a culture behind voice acting in Japan for decades with dedicated schools, audio CD adaptations of games or novels, people fan-dubbing old games and Nico and so on. And because people/purchasers care about who voices who.
VA have more of a following over there, to the point where you can make a character more popular by giving them a VA that is popular themselves. 'Look at who we assembled for voices!' was half of the hype cycle for Dangan 2 in Japan.

Reposting my predictions from the previous thread:
1. Blade is not Gunvolt. In the alternate timeline, someone else got the Azure Striker Septima. This also explains why the Azure Striker was captured and brainwashed (not as competent)
2. The leader of Sumeragi will be Nova/Asimov or the original Gunvolt with a different Septima. My bet is on Gunvolt. He then fuses with 1000 glaives as they originally intended for the second game. Asimov/Nova might be secret bosses, dunno, would be a good opportunity.
3. The real last boss is an adept who can control time/dimension somehow. The dimension in the game is supposedly a result of some change in time previously or something like that. The twist of the twist is that the timeline in this game is the real one.
Also this character (base and transformed) needed some fucking doujins, along with Monica and the maid.

They already stated there are multiple adepts with the Azure Striker Septima, didn't they? They could still go the alternate timeline route and have Asimov/GV with the AS as well.

Thinking back, I remember the first game stated that Gunvolt was the first test subject who didn't die when Sumeragi artificially implanted the Azure Striker Septima in him. Still, they also said they originally got the Septima from another, natural-born Azure Striker (was it Asimov himself or someone else?), so it's not like it can only be artificially implanted.
Fuck, I really liked GV, Joule and Copen's voices, that said I didn't get to finish GV2, they really kicked the difficulty up a notch and I can't get used to Copen's mechanics

I know Lumen was butterfly-themed and that Copen is searching for the Butterfly Effect, but I hope the pendant containing her Septima doesn't somehow have the power to time travel. In fact I hope it's a completely separate story that simply leads into GV3 at the end where the pendant will be actually relevant. This game could serve for Copen to finally change his mindset so that he'll become an ally in 3.

There was an original Azure Striker adept and Sumeragi tried to copy/implant the power into multiple people. Gunvolt was the only one who survived (or was successful. I don't remember if they specifically mention the others dying, but I think they do). Asimov was considered a failure according to the wiki. I don't remember where that info comes from but it's probably accurate.
Either way, there's only 3 Azure Strikers. There could be another failed experiment but I doubt it. I also don't think this girl can be the original, since Asimov was experimented on when he was younger and this girl seemingly too young to have had her powers back then and whatnot. So it wouldn't add up.
I wonder. I could see one of the twists in the end being that the children are forcefully converted into adepts and he has to kill them. He could also end up accepting adepts as a result of it I suppose.
Asimov was considered a failure because he went apeshit on the scientists and killed them making the lab go kaboom. He was the one who took out Dr. Kamizono or at least it was implied (which makes the events at the end of GV1 quite ironic in hindsight).
Nova was a failed test subject and he survived but went crazy for a while.

It's a series that gets better the better you get at it, the base gameplay gives you so many crutches that you can just brute-force most stuff and it's not very fun in that case, but if you learn the mechanics, enemy placements and optimal movement and strategies, it becomes blazingly fast and rewarding, especially Copen.
It's fun to speculate because it could be anything at this point.

Easy mode in that it's pretty easy not to die while using him (especially since he has two layers of attack deflection), but if you try to go for high ranks, it's pretty tough.

The story is better imo. The skillcap is higher, the rooms aren't as cramped as MMZ (I hated that about it desu). You get a better reward for playing well (MMZ just gave you the boss ougis and big penor rank). But, if you don't learn how to play the game, it definitely feels slower/less rewarding.

To be fair this isn't some Classic Mega Man scenario of a peace-loving protagonist trying to talk sense into reprogrammed (and rebuildable) characters. Sumeragi and Eden kill people, some of the more innocent people are still murderers or broken and insane, and both protagonists are hardened soldier-type killers themselves. Gunvolt goes in with the expectation that he either has to kill to survive or put down a threat to everyone's safety, and Copen's Copen.

They put tons of story and world-building in this series so if you can get into it, you'll definitely enjoy it more. There's even dialogue constantly going on throughout the levels to flesh things out. You can turn it off and skip all cutscenes if you're not interested, though.

It's just mildly offputting when they put so much effort into designs just to throw them away immeditly(Megaman arguments aside, GV has way more thought put into the designs for both normal and armored up bosses). They have established that revival septimal shit exists(though its rare) so they could bring back specific characters if they wanted to, but they wont because that shits broken and would raise to many questions afterwards probably.

Nope, Inafune did that out of his own accord by his own admittance. He wanted Zero to be the protagonist, but he didn't even risk it to begin with. He even in his own words presented him as a supporting character because he wanted them to be less critical of him so he could push him slowly with each game.

Aren't you assuming a little too much for what we know? Copen is fighting against Sumeragi, it's quite possible there are other adepts who are against the extermination of the Minos and who fight Sumeragi, whether we actually see them in the game or just hear about them.

Haven't heard Copen's new voice yet, but Lola's is extremely similar to the old one. Meanwhile, Blade's is too different to justify him being the usual Gunvolt, it's like English Megaman Volnutt between Legends 1 and 2, but to the extreme.
The characters still sound roughly the same. Coppen and Lola still sound fairly similar to themselves. Gunvolt had a male voice so it's odd he'd now get a girl who isn't even attempting to sound boyish.

Slower and his entire damage mechanic is based on tag and wait/dodge. Copen can body check and zip around like a bat out of hell while also doing tag and "wait" with less down time since he's so mobile.

Copen is more mobile. With Gunvolt, you have to shot enemies with a gun to put a tag on them, then press a button to zap the tagged enemies with a lightning strike. You don't need to stop to do any of this, but it's difficult to be precise while moving. Copen tags enemies by dashing into them, you can dash extremely fast and far while airborne and you don't need to dash into enemies with too much accuracy because you can simply bounce off of walls, ground and ceiling and keep air dashing, so his gameplay is way faster.

If it doesn't have a native setting for it in the game options somehow (some games have a "use monitor 1 or 2" kinda thing), go into your driver kit and ensure the monitor you wish to play on is the "1" primary monitor
I hooked an HDMI to my TV and it considers the TV number 1, but my main PC monitor is classed as 2. It opens everything on 2 as a result, and a number of games refuse to be shifted over to the TV 1 even if I use the Windows+Shift method. ASG1 doesn't have a monitor option in its launcher, just resolution, and fullscreen/windowed.

Gunvolt was a complete success.
Asimov's body successfully took in the Azure Striker, but he was considered a failure because he couldn't fully control it. His power goes berserk by default. The shades he wears are actually a power suppressor.
Nova was implanted with the Azure Striker, and despite being the most promising test subject since Asimov, it backfired and nearly killed him when he tried to use the power. So the scientists removed it and implanted Psychokinesis instead, which proved compatible and helped save his life.
Every other test subject just died, and I think some side material says there were 60 or 70 of them. They were probably all children or young teens judging by the three known test subjects. It would make sense; a growing body is better for science shenanigans than a mature one.
I for one salute Copen as the new protagonist of the franchise, GV can retire already, next game let's delete ''Gunvolt'' from the game's title, he isn't required anymore, his brother(sister) Blade is welcome to join the ranks though.
That would make a lot of sense since Joule's septima turn adepts into super sayans.
