pretty much. tracing has its purpose but its seen as a means to an end rather than a process itself. tracing properly means you're learning to draw the lines confidently and with purpose, rather than trying to make a 1 to 1 copy. proper tracing can be a valuable tool when learning stylized art, but its grossly misused.

this argument I could agree with if there were any difference between individual members of that trainer class. They are all identical to each other, so as such I feel it is appropriate to refer to them as an individual archetype. It actually fits well into my personal headcanon that the most of the people died in the pokemon world in the 'war' referred to in gen 1, and that the majority of people alive now are clones of survivors
I'm not criticizing artistic license. I'm trying to explore WHY people decide to tack huge tits on May, Hex, Cynthia, Serena, Gardevoir, etc. If the answer is because it makes the art more appealing as they're trying to run a commission business, then thats fine. If the answer is because they perceive the character as having that body type, thats what I want to talk about. Are the character designs not interesting enough without the exaggerated proportions? Does the artist get a thrill from adding exaggerated proportions in an otherwise sterile environment, like for example how Isabelle from AC is drawn a lot in fanart as being pear shaped, when her in game model doesn't have any indication that that is the case?
