It has a cool story spanning 3 games, fun arcadey feeling to it but still challenging. If you are on the OG there are still servers with a dedicated base of players, but the remaster is barren.

i unironically enjoy call of duty games and 4 was one of my favs i still play it from time to time and the new trailer made me want to play it even more the multiplayer is pretty solid the usual run and gun stuff like every other call of duty only with way less unlockables than the modern games no matchmaking and microtransaction crap either so thats great theres a couple of modded servers too you can try out

I haven't picked a mode yet, does Veteran just give the enemies more health or does it actually give you more enemies and change the combat in any significant way?

it takes away 1 hit kill body-shots on sniper rifles and 3 bullets will kill you. the PTSD experience is the way CoD was meant to be played as it give you ample time to watch the corpses pile up around you as you wade in a crater filled with a pool of your own blood waiting to heal

the intial part after you snipe the dude is brutal but once you get to that final strech the level pretty much plays itself, just hide right next to where the big glowing marker was to place the captain down and you win. The levels after that made everything before it look like candy land.

Two people I met on this game were in my wedding. I still game every other night with 3-4 of the dudes I met on this game. Another 2 will pop up or text me to play now and then. Campaign is fun, but the multiplayer is where it is/was at.
