The guy playing it is terrible. I'm kinda curious about the plot I guess. I don't see anything particularly interesting about it at the moment. Graphics look nice though. Wish they'd put the 2nd and 3rd game on Steam.
Also, didn't they mention they intended to make Gunvolt a masked swordsman for the 2nd game but didn't have the guts to do so? We've already seen him masked before, so I assume they're making him melee based now, maybe a swordsman even. Maybe that will be interesting, as long as they aren't just interested in copying Megaman Zero.

My guess is that you fight someone using Copen's shield (I'd want it to be you using the shield but I doubt they're gonna go out of their way to implement something that cool just for one fight, even if it was available for new game+. Fuck that shield was so much cooler than his 2+ design). Maybe his father or sister. Can't be Gunvolt since he was already the last boss previously. Could be another Azure Striker somehow, since the last bosses of the previous games were both as well. Maybe Lumen gains the Azure Striker powers and decides to fight? I dunno.

No, GV1 was cleansed of the worst parts and GV2 doesn't have any, but GV2's translation also felt kinda off to me anyway by not properly conveying the seriousness.

Even in 2, Lola's pod form changes when you switch weapons. They just didn't go the extra mile and make her human form reflect that.

If you mean Stratos and Elise, they weren't under his command until the end of GV1.
In the drama CDs he laments Stratos's fate and says he wants to protect adepts like Jota from Sumeragi's other departments.
I think it's also sort of implied that Elise's fate would have been much better under him. In the drama CD about her "recruitment", Merak had the choice of reporting her to Nova or the lab boys. He chose to the lab boys.
Gibril, losing health to use her powers would be a cool gimmick for a playable character. Or Zeno, so we can finally know what the fuck his septima does.

Y'know this being Copen placed in an alternate timeline would make complete sense. Why else would Sumeragi suddenly be composed of Adepts trying to kill off humans, and why else would Adepts suddenly be a majority?
Another possibility is that there's some time travel fuckery going on that ultimately causes this. Someone might've traveled back in time for whatever reason, and the "butterfly effect" from their actions is what we see here.

Apparently Europe never got the update, but it's definitely fixed in the North American version

I guess since the person with the Azure Striker powers is someone else, they'll make Gunvolt the Sumeragi boss with the 1000 septimas and without the electric powers.
The real last boss will probably be an adept with the time travel/dimension shift adept. Once you break out of the timeline/dimension/illusion, you face him/her. Maybe the big twist will be that the timeline in 3rd game was the real one all along.
I think Gunvolt will be the second playable character but he will have a different septima.
What would a melee character's scoring gimmick be?
Perhaps Kudos bonuses based on killing enemies consecutively within a certain time span (with bosses obviously giving a bonus for being finished special moves). Speed could perhaps affect a multiplier.
