I'm assuming Death is a reference to a quest in Morrowind with a tiny object in a giant dungeon you have to find and it's actually genuinely hard and I'm not sure why since it's in a pretty obvious place, but I and most other people still end up taking like an hour to look for it every time.

The Pestilence one I'm not sure, but those games technically WOULD still work in a modded Gamecube assuming they were structurally sound enough to not shatter as soon as they started spinning. There's no difference between a DVD and the smaller discs the Gamecube uses apart from size.

If I recall, someone found a copy of Starcraft's original source code in their attic or some shit and sent it back to Blizzard (I think their legal team asked them to, the guy apparently thought about asking his own legal consul on what he could do, but he opted to just send it back). He got some Blizzard shit and a trip to Blizzcon in return.
People are upset because the source code could have been used to make open source ports of Starcraft and done a lot of cool shit with it and made variations of it but now that chance is gone.
