Ferry is a weird character because her entire characterization has been completely overhauled by her appearance in joke comics. It's bizarre even for the standards of Granblue's writing, and I don't even know why it happened.

Yeah, but part of that is in the nature of DBFZ being a 3v3 anime fighter.

Right now I have a lot of the same issues remind me of SFV. Like every button seems to have a very obvious purpose, and trying to play around with things outside that isn't very rewarding. Your walk speed is slow, and most stuff is plus or not that negative. So you kind of get those moments of sitting next to each other trading basic shit. Meter management isn't even a consideration, that shit gets built for free. Also I really dislike that instant block just builds meter, entirely pointless. At least the normals are large and you have a lot of invincible moves, it has that over SFV.

I don't need the combos to be long either, but so far everyone has a very similar route. This reminds me a lot of DBFZ, where once we discovered the basic route everyone just turned into flavours of that. Same for pressure, Lancelot and Ferry are the only ones I've seen that can do something a bit different in a pressure situation. One thing i noticed is for SonicFox's best combos he avoided the auto combo

All these have autocombo.

Autocombo is close proximity only. That means if you're not close enough, the far version of each of these buttons will come out. And there's no autocombo for these far versions, only the close ones.

Okay so first of you have far and close normals. Far normals have no auto combo

Up close your normals change, and any button press after a normal starts the auto combo. So if I do LLLL I get the autocombo. But if I do LMH I also get the auto combo, or MLL or any combination of those buttons. These are also all the same autocombo, not like FighterZ where each button has a different one. Basically you can't link close normals, whatever you do they go into the autocombo

If you look at her initial appearance she's much more standoffish and actually sort of acts like a dead teenager would act. When you free her, she's generally more reserved. This is made pretty apparent just by comparing her first initial SR's voicework with her most recent SSR

But the 4koma characterized her more and more as the character who got worried or nervous, and generally more timid, and that leaked into her personality.

Gran has a built in 50/50 with his 214L>214M. You can grab after the 214L because the block stun is very low, you can delay the followup 214M to frame trap, and you can just block after 214L. He's as honest an he needs to be, and probably the most honest character in the game, though.

I'm having a lot of fun with it and personally enjoy the more grounded elements and focus on footsies, but it's still a honeymoon period. My real problems with the game thus far:

>the walk speed and dashes really need to be sped up, the game's movement is slower than Super Turbo and being able to punish dashes with 5A easily isn't a good idea
>a few command normals could be nice to spice up the combo potential a bit
>I feel the meter shouldn't be just a super button. Maybe a mechanic where you can use meter to get rid of EX cooldown could work

Like walk speed can be changed, but things like the hidden combo limit, defaulting to 5AAA on every combo instead of allowing regular links, not being able to beat/reverse beat, etc. can't be changed in this version.
