Fuck the colosseum so much. I keep dying at the aerial part. Its all I need to get 112%
I don't know, but was I the only one disappointed with Gato Roboto? Bit of personality, certainly, but painfully easy with some terrible boss design (e.g. lava boss, turret boss). I didn't even know it existed until yesterday, so it isn't like I was hyped, but still -- don't know if I even care to finish it.
Definitely not the bland piece of shit you put as the OP image.
You posted it. Nothing comes close, sadly.
I liked Ori better.
So you haven't even reached the final boss of the colosseum? He's gonna kick your ass harder than the flying insects.
Not Hollow Knight, that's for sure. Awful stiff controls with no momentum ruined it for me. Ori and Salt & Sanctuary are way better than Hollow Shite
I'm currently playing axiom verge, it's alright but I'm not sure how I feel about the boss fights
You can beat the pantheons but not the colosseum?
Sundered is pretty fun game. Not the best in the genre but totally enjoyable.
Super Metroid or SotN
tpbp
>got halfway thru the game upto deepnest
>got sidetracked by life reasons
>return back to hollow knight after a few months
>completely forgot the layout of the map and locations of NPCs
>remember the clusterfuck that was deepnest
not sure whether to restart or just uninstall
Deepnest really isn't that bad unless you end up there really early
Me too, but they're fairly different games with their own merits. Ori 2 looks like it's going to be best of both worlds though I'm sure Silksong will be great too.
Not this indie trash SJW shitfest
I don't care if they're different. Ori was a lot more fun to explore than Hollow Knight. That game was literally trying to be Dark Souls in 2d.
>That game was literally trying to be Dark Souls in 2d.
Well I guess so is Ori 2 because it has bossfights, weapons with varied movesets, spells (including a self-heal), and a dash move that works as a dodge roll
We can go ahead and add Gato Roboto to this. Probably just okay tier
I don't understand how Wonder/Monster Boy count but Pirate's Curse doesn't count
you're wrong on that front. Salt and Sanctuary is the 2D Dark Souls in every way, shape, and form.
Even down to combat dude.
Hollow Knight is just pretty close to it though
What's with all the Metroidvania threads every day now? Did zoomers just learn about the genre?
la mulana fag go away
Cave Story
>sjwfest
explain to me how its SJW you seething /pol/tards are worse than any actual sjw
sounds fucking cool
shut the fuck up, I'm the quickest to dismiss a game if it has any minor sprinkle of pedo sjw shit in it. Hollow knight has none, literally just a cool game, nothing more nothing less
sorry, meant for
super metroid is not that good, it's too clunky, zero mission and fusion controls way better
then why call it SJW indie trash you actual brainlet?
Disregard this post, an actual brainlet here
Dawn of sorrow is not that good. And Momodora isn't great. I think Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance should rank higher, despite being a SotN clone.
Also, no Dust: an elysian tail?
That's a shit tier list with not metroidvanias sprinkled in. How the fuck do you classify La Maluna as a metroidvania. Like come on.
I've never played it, but how is it not in the genre?
HoD is lucky to be in good tier. I used to have Dust but got convinced to remove it at some point, I forget why.
>How the fuck do you classify La Maluna as a metroidvania
Because it definitely definitely is.
Man you should have been around when La Mulana fag was shitposting on Hollow Knight threads with this chart.
It was almost as bad as ACFag with the sheer autism that was going into it
This is not that chart. I am not that guy.
Yep, the easiness is the main problem of the game. The price is quite decent, I bought it in Switch for 6.5€
That's true. For seven bucks, it's hard to complain. It's not a bad game. It's fine. It's just fine. Don't think I could recommend it to anybody, though.
How do you play Axiom verge without falling asleep? Only thing I remember is that the guy you're controlling feels slow, weak and boring as hell to play.
Restart, your second time through everything should be much faster.
Forget the best, everybody's played the best; what about the hidden gems? I really enjoyed Ghost 1.0, both the gameplay and the oddly charming characters and story. Pretty damn good voice acting too.
kinda mad at myself for not figuring out how to help Zote before finishing that area. i was too preoccupied with not wanting to die there.
I enjoyed it and will probably replay it for a good time. I was definitely not disappointed, especially for the price, but I had two big issues:
1) It's not much of a Metroid type game as there's no backtracking to previous areas aside from some minor optional stuff, so it really just feels like a hub with 4 levels to explore. Similar to Shantae and the Pirates Curse I have trouble calling it a metroidvania. I think we need a new name for non-linear platformers.
2) Only 1 vehicle to hop into aside your main mech suit (2 if you count the stationary turret). I really got the impression that this was going to be a major mechanic in the game, especially since you can't upgrade your suit much at all. Just the double jump and the completely pointless phase ability. They could have at the bare minimum cobbled together a shmup section where you pilot a rocket or let you hop onto one of those helicopter enemies. This was my major issue with Owl Boy too. The mechanic has so many options of paper but then your only available companions for the entire finished game were gun, BIG gun, and grappling hook *doesn't work*
Same here, I was bamboozled by the glowing reviews but found the game an absolute chore. Luckily I figured it out before the 2 hour mark.
Reminder that they've been silent about silksong because they got bought by epic
Environmental Station Alpha is the best non-Metroid Metroid game. Hands down. Far and away.
