Banjo is far from dead, Microsoft even said they want to bring Banjo back, and they want to do it at the right time. This was back in 2015 when Battletoads was rumored to be getting a new entry (Which we now know it is) and we're at a similar situation with Banjo's patent being renewed (By Nintendo oddly enough) and rumors of Banjo returning in some way shape or form. Also nostalgic remakes/remasters are all the rave now with Crash and Spyro remade and coming back with new games, so it seems likely Microsoft might want to cash in with Banjo.

This is actually what made that generation so good. Most of the games have visually aged about as well as warm milk but there was definitely a lot of creative ideas thrown out there. No idea was too bizarre so we got a lot of unique titles. Not all of them wound up being good and the few that were weren't really marketable beyond the first iteration but it certainly made things much more interesting. N64/PS1 generation was the generation of diamonds in the rough and cult classics. There's a good reason why people are nostalgic for it.

Objectively these are the ideal 3rd parties, taking into account individual relevance of the franchises & characters themselves
