I liked the reboot and rise quite a bit, still barely played any shadow,partially due to what you said. Both rise and shadow have a map filled with so much useless shit it kills the flow of the story completely but you do it anyway because you don't want to miss something
If it was interesting tombs/locations then sure, but most the time you just pick up an endless amount of relics/documents. The reboot had a better balance of this and was way less of a chore to play.
Gameplay aside, shadow has some very wonky things. Faces are often uncanny and some things just look plain wrong and low effort in cut scenes, like that APC "stuck" in the 2cm thick mud.
Wish the games had as much attention to detail as Uncharted, and i never even played those.

I thought Rise had a decent amount of important collectibles, it had quite a lot of interesting diary entries, particularly of Jacob. 2013 obviously had the history of the island from various years and various different beliefs/people which helped solidify the world, but I wouldn't say Rise isn't as on point as 2013 with them.

Yes, I agree that the diaries and backstory elements were good in Rise, especially with the religious theme of it all. What bothered me were the never ending coin caches and other non important collectibles.
Shadows seems to have even more of these and just becomes very much a chore to play.
