How badly does it run?

It runs great for me.
I'm using a 4th gen i5, 8GB DDR3 RAM.

Personally I love World Adventures because going on a vacation and solving puzzles is fun, but other people shit on it. I enjoy Supernatural because of alchemy and all the fun shit it adds like werewolves and witches (I disable zombie attacks though because that's retarded) but other people hate it because "REEEEE ITS NOT REALISTIC STOP RUINING MY LIFE SIMULATOR"

I don't use any mods myself, other than Overwatch.
Into the Future and World Adventures are my two favourite expansions
Supernatural and University Life can be good too.
Shit like the Katy Perry stuff I only installed because it was more hassle to remove it from the all-in-one installer than to simply keep it.

I wish they would innovate with the animations. They still look wierd and robotic after so many years. If they had something like body movements being calculated on the fly rather than pre defined animation (like GTA IV did years ago) it would look a lot better, and it could handle things like sims approaching objects and people from angles, grabbing things with fell movements, also enabling the possibility of variable height sims (sims could lean down slightly to hug shorter sims etc)

I bet if Will Wright was still around, he would be all over innovations like that

I tried. He literally crashes any game I enter him into because I guess he has too much "data" stored in him or something?
I can start a new game with fresh Sims and it's no problem, but if this guy is on the map the entire game becomes a slide show

I prefer making an author sim. Make them a neurotic couch potato bookwoorm loner then just sit them at their desk in an expensive chair with their favorite music blasting and just go to town. Whenever their needs get low, just have a neurotic breakdown and go back to work. You'll pump out masterpieces left and right. Or you can do the same with an artistic sim, just change a few traits and have them paint their heart out.

There was a town for Sims 3 that was a high fantasy elf village IIRC, you could go with that if you don't mind them pulling out a cellphone from time to time.

I did all that, made sure it recognized my gpu, downloaded a fixed map, etc. Game still runs like absolute trash with i7 and 2080.

What I don't get is why having more options in a game about character choices is a bad thing

Like why would you want a game with less features, if you aren't going to make a gay or tranny character then don't, but begging game developers to take the option away is petty. I bet you don't even have a good reason. Not even the most thinly-veiled of excuses like "we need to protect developing young minds from being brainwashed by tEh GaY!" Do you seriously believe The Sims could remove gay/tranny shit from the game and get away with it, even though it's been there from the beginning? Users everywhere would be outraged at the curtailing of features - sexuality is a big part of being a person and when designing your sim their sexuality should be up to you. I made a small Japanese mountain village themed town years and years ago in CAW, and I downloaded another world that was a small desert town on Route 66 that was almost entirely flat. I like small comfy worlds with the minimum amount of buildings. Makes things feel cozy.

With all the DLC installed, its real. If have a current gen i7, a 1080TI, 16gb ram, and an ssd. The game takes about 4 minutes to load and runs at around 30fps avg.

You can’t add Mrs Crumplebottom or Grim Reaper to your household
You can’t delete Family Bin sims, or any sims for that matter, including graves.

Shit man, I don’t know what it is about TS2 that makes it my favorite. Maybe it was that it was a fantastic mix of staying true to the original and introducing new ideas. Maybe it was that it did “show don’t tell” perfectly (which Sims 4 does horribly). Buggy as it was, I also miss the memories system because it gave the sims more “character depth”, so to speak.

Oddly enough wasn't sims 4 made like a multiplayer game technically, But never took advantage of it, Probably the biggest reason why Sims 4 wasn't open world.

Yeah, I agree. It added tons of character depth with expansions. Also the art style to me is iconic to sims it has a certain look that they don't have anymore. It could just be nostalgia but who knows

I don’t like Sims 4’s “emotions” system. In Sims 2 if certain interactions are rejected, both sims make these subtle facial expressions (if you get rejected for a hug, the initiator makes this sort of ‘ah shit’ face). I didn’t need to be told what their emotion is because I already knew what it was. Also, sims felt more dynamic with their personalities. Nice Sims were always more excited to give hugs while grouchy sims would always look pissed before having to do so. Sims 4 they kind of all act the same no matter what their traits are. Sims 2 had a bunch of small details that I miss a lot.
