One of the fascinating new addition to your equipment, is a ladder, This is a piece of equipment you care about.
Our new ladder model is taken from high resolution scans of an actual SEAL team service ladder. Every detail is replicated.

Took me way too long to realize this was CoDDog and not a Kojima tweet
It is an impressive ladder
I unironically think ladders are cool. Especially portable ladders you can carry with you. When I play this game I will make sure to have at least two ladders on me at all times.

Explain
why are ladders such a big deal in video games? they aren't THAT complex of an object, right?
Nice ladders in this game
The funniest thing it's that motion he does to grab it while the ladder no-clips through the backpack
This, fucking Jumpman had ladders but for some reason we're meant to be in awe that COD has them.
what a thrill ...
i'm unironically pre-ordering if it comes with a special feature that plays that song when you climb the ladder.
ladders
From a technical point of view getting the AI to "intelligently" use a ladder is a little more tricky than you might think.
could you elaborate on that please? im genuinely curious, isnt it basically the same as intelligently using stairs?

not at all
Stairs in video games almost never involve a state change for an entity. They can move around on them as easily as they can flat ground. Ladders are different. It's mostly just that using a ladder puts the AI in a very vulnerable state. It's very easy for the player to exploit. Coding AI that can determine if the player is about to fuck with them while they use a ladder is just not trivial thing to do. The other problem is it can fuck up pathfinding and, in the worst case scenario, that can have a severe effect on performance. AI can't just look and see it can't get from point A to point B. It has to calculate a path every fucking time. Ladders are potential choke points the AI can't accurately predict. How does the AI know it has to "queue" to use a ladder? If it finds itself blocked this might trigger it to recalculate the path but what if the ladder is the only way? Then it's just spamming the processor with useless pathfinding calculations that are only going to come back with "There's no path." and kill performance. The complications just go on. It's just not as easy as you might think to do.
just as long as this lame ass dude has something in the game, every autismo on Yea Forums automatically loves it. these are the same people that think if they met this dumbass in real life, he'd be their friend. news flash retards, this guy is not cool and he is not your friend.
TV?
TV! TV! TV!

Why cant I just climb that hill instead?
>not a stepladder
2/10 would not touch with a 5 ft stick.
Xbox, go home.
That brings back good memories
Finally a game with STICK, CORD, ROPE, LADDER, and BRIDGES. I bet you troglodytes can't even decipher the meaning of the rainbow and crab emojis.
Minecraft had buildable ladders years ago
Obsessed.
