I like how diverse play styles are. At one end you have Ferry and the other you've got Lancelot. Both Gran and Kat feel pretty different as well, Gran is the unga shoto with shorter buttons and Katalina is for people with brains. Charlotta is kinda odd but I like that, she is like Akuma and Blanka rolled together.

Medium feels a bit too much like the footsie button, but maybe hards are safe than I'm assuming. But then for Charlotta and Lancelot all their buttons are pretty short so I guess there is some diversity. I haven't figured out much about combos outside magic series into special or super, I can see what wall bounce stuff might work but haven't landed anything yet.

When pressure gets going it is a bit hard to stop, though you do have options and most strings can actually be interrupted.

If you say so, i've gotten kills with both Ferry and Charlotta's and neither of them got a cutscene.

The game is basic, but it is a really solid kind of basic. Like you have to actually respect buttons and fireballs. Even with ways around them there are easy punishes, you can dodge fireballs if you want but those options have pretty easy counters. I've tricked a lot of people into dodging a fireball so I can grab them.It feels like I'm playing street fighter, which is more than I can say for SFV.

My concerns right now are

Not the end of the world, but it is nice to have some tricky advanced stuff.

If someone does get in it is sometimes hard to get them out, and doing so they can take the match quite quickly.

Kat has a hurtbox on her sword and it's easy to poke it even if your character is low range. Ferry has basically no hurtbox on her whip so your only option is to force her into the corner and never let her leave.

You don't "win" a clash. It just has a slowdown before the next moves. For example in this webm, both Charlotta and Ferry input something during the clash, and Charlotta's move was faster than whatever Ferry did so Charlotta hit her.

The game looks like ass though, the jump arcs are short, the backdashes take a million years to move, the walkspeeds are slow, the normals are stubby for a large part of the cast, the startup on moves is long, and the blockstrings are long for a game with no combos.
