no fuck you

yes

I Agree with user here. Fuck You.

Yea Forums quickly depending into permanent irrelevance by not playing vr. this place is the next ebaumsworld.

Maybe when there is something more than mini games with 15 minutes of content on VR.

already done
tons of games out already. nobody is going to spoonfeed you again sorry

Attached: 1558031389043.png (268x334, 67K)

>playing 3 good games with phone graphics
no thanks

>playing good games
fuck that. i only play shitty games.

how many layers of irony is this thred on

>i only play shitty games

Attached: brain.jpg (800x450, 58K)

>quest
yikes dawg..

i've just bought an oculus rift cv1 instead, and i'm very happy with it. why should i want a quest?

lots of vee plays vr, we're just too busy playing vidya to talk about it and too smart to participate in shitposting bait threads. well, most of us at least

>i've just bought an oculus rift cv1
but user youre not getting to experience f r i c t i o n l e s s VR

no thats not it. Its just that you are very few.

omg this will be perfect next to my switch!!! can't wait to play them both in public!!!

Attached: DASH_1080.webm (640x360, 2.84M)

>tons of games out already
Most of them are experiences or ports, and very very few fully fledged games.

Even less if we're talking about Quest.

Are many gamers really on VR?

quest is retarded
S is even worse

You're literally better off getting the base rift

no not at all

Attached: normie saber.png (781x399, 139K)

the thing you don't get is smaller community = better.
Don't you know when the flood gates open =community goes to shit?

>buying VR set
>when ER is LITERALLY the only non-trash game worth playing VR

just kys asap

>ER

meant Elite Dangerous, fuck

>s is worse
>base is better
yeah, if you like not being able to turn around, having all your USB ports used up, godrays, lower fov, lower resolution, inability to read text, spending 60$ extra dollars on a third tracking camera to be able to have accurate tracking, no future support, and worse controllers.
buy a rift S. the only people who trash talk the rift S are people who don't have money to upgrade from CV1 to feel better about being poor, and Vive owners for being locked out of the storefront with
the most worthwhile exclusives.

Showed the Quest to a friend, he was amazed how much better it felt without a cable and called the vive a clunky piece of shit in comparison

has VR porn improved in the last 5 years?

Attached: 1.png (499x555, 18K)

no

i have shitty pc - 1050ti

If I install adblock do your posts disappear?

you can try

Nothing about VR has. Slightly better lenses, same shit tier porn, shit tier games. VR is a stale meme.

that's more or less enough for vr, not quite constant 90fps but you should be kinda fine. also, quest is standalone

>Nothing about VR has. Slightly better lenses
i think the biggest thing holding VR back is still processing power

good luck hitting 144hz on the index, pretty sure even a 2080ti will struggle

the quest is standalone user

Attached: pavlovquest.webm (1024x1024, 2.79M)

this complete lack of any visual clue that would suggest a gun was fired (flame or something, even if it's suppressed) is making me feel weird. is pavlov pc doing the same?

also, you should feel very bad about yourself for using awp with a sight, tryhard-kun

More like Oculus Pleb

Its because Quest graphics suck and everything has to be disabled

>Hey guys, you know what would be a great idea?
>Let's create a standalone VR headset with so shitty performance that you can't do anything but play shitty rhythm games with N64 graphics

Attached: assburger.jpg (600x683, 33K)

pc version does have muzzle flashes.
Quest alpha has most effects removed for performance reasons until they specifically redo them for the hardware

Attached: pavlov3.webm (1280x720, 2.74M)

People who say anything positive about the Rift S and Quest are plebs who can't afford an Index

I am really enjoying these shitty rythm games user, tell me more

Attached: akimbo.webm (1024x1024, 1.91M)

>No muzzle flashes

Attached: Link in stitches.png (220x175, 79K)

>ignoring the fact that it is an early alpha
>ignoring the fact that muzzle flashes have no real performance impact
>just for an excuse to post a reaction image
sad!

>n64 graphics
so what? it's still impressive, 1:1 scale alone makes normies cream their pants. quest is a reasonable idea, it's the most accessible way of vr you could possibly have. i won't buy it, but i'm glad it exists, and it solves many problems of ordinary vr systems, for example having a good room to play vr is not as easy as it sounds like
>be cv1 owner
>have pc in your relatively small room
>smash your arm against the shelf at some point because your choice of play zone is limited to your room

>be quest owner
>feel like doing some vidya
>take your vr to your living room
>turn it on
>beat saber or beat your meat or do whatever you do in vr without any room-related issues

it's good

Attached: 96-F14-06-165.jpg (800x600, 120K)

I did. Just got custom Beat Saber songs to work. I'm at around 90 so far.

I've only ever tried a Vive. How does the Quest compare?

Imagine shamelessly shilling an absolute joke of a piece of hardware that is inferior to everything that came before, and pathetically deflecting when people point out how terrible it is

Creating a terrible VR experience that can't even handle a fraction of what a VR capable system should is not the way to sell VR to the masses.
It's an overpriced Osu simulator that can't even render porn right

aside from slightly better resolution, what are the benefits of this compared to a Rift if I have a half decent PC?

user it's not healthy to seethe for this many consecutive years, you're gonna have a heart attack

>that can't even handle a fraction of what a VR capable system should
all you need is some basic optimization, look at questfag's webms. it runs, it plays well, seems like controller tracking is doing pretty alright too

>awful refresh rate
>crummy tracking
>zuckerberg watches you masturbate
>weak hardware
b-but you don't have any cables

Functionally the extra resolution doesn't help because it's got the performance of a phone

Trying to optimise games for the lowest common denominator, so that it'll be somewhat playable on a quest, instead of pushing boundaries will only hold VR back. Shooters should be scaling above this stagnant 5v5 situation we've had for years now.

>Oculus Rift and Vive come out
>Games become optimized in order to hit the 90fps frame rate
>Quest comes out
>Questfags complain that the wheelchair ramp that was already made is still too steep

nothing stops you from releasing a 50v50 pc shooter though. standalone vr is not a replacement for ordinary vr, you can push boundaries all you want. quest is really more of a "vr demo", a gateway drug

Even Oculus itself used to maintain that delivering an inadequate product will only serve to disappoint people and potentially turn them off VR. Quest, especially with its horrifyingly low refresh rate probably will do just that.

rift dk2 had 75hz refresh rate, i've been showing it to many, many people and everyone were in awe. if cardboard can impress people, 6dof quest with tracked motion controllers and solid library of popular vidya will surely keep them interested in topic for a while

Never gonna buy something owned by Facebook you fucking shills

>selling out everywhere
>best first time VR experience you can have
cope, the quest is the ideal piece of tech to just show friends, while your expensive vive setup with shit controllers, a cable and sensors drilled into a wall will scare people off.
fact

Attached: journeyofthegods.webm (1024x1024, 2.12M)

>Children eat dirt pies so they must be good
>Quality scares people away

DK2 wasn't capable of roomscale. With Quest you're supposed to be moving around, at which point any fast head movements will become awful. Hence why Beat Saber is one of the few things that can somewhat work, although I bet your swords ghosting about all the time will strain your eyes

Compare this to how Valve wants to set at least 120Hz as the baseline - they're doing that for a good reason, as it lets you comfortably play active games for a long time. Only when standards like that become affordable can VR really be a worthwhile platform.

15 cents have been delivered to your account

I like how the Quest is extremely cheap, yet you still have buyers remorse

>Quality scares people away
no, but a device full of friction and impractical setup does

Attached: akm.webm (1024x1024, 2.66M)

If you can't take the 15 minutes to set up lighthouses, then I'm gonna assume you're posting from a laptop because you can't put a monitor on a fucking desk

or you could buy the superiour inside-out

Attached: gg.png (1319x1305, 2.08M)

>superior
yep, you're being paid

Attached: laughing_elf_man.jpg (191x264, 9K)

Vive, Index also sold out, you realize this right

>can be used in any environment without setup
>not superior
Never had issues grapping items from my back or throwing things over the should btw

Attached: bridge.webm (1024x1024, 2.94M)

or people who rent and can't drill holes in the walls of their room nor have the space to have the lighthouses on tripods in the exact same spot 24/7, or didn't want to wait an extra month and a half :^)
plus it's valve, expect delays

valve index was sold only on steam, the Quest is selling out in every store in malls or online

Which one do you believe will grow a userbase and thus a market for devs to create software for?

Attached: ccc.png (1782x517, 197K)

Probably the one that cant even run all games, yeah youre right

enjoy your finger simulator controller for 300$

Attached: lmao.png (1474x299, 37K)

will you two faggots stop fighting

>Deadzones
>Inferior controller ergonomics
>Tons of reports that you can't even shoulder a rifle or draw a bow correctly
>Slow update rate

>can't drill holes
Which is exactly what I had, so I moved my shelves towards the corners and put them on there
So in other words, inside-out is great if:
>you like inferior experiences
>you're lazy as all shit to the point where you wouldn't even be able to place down a speaker
>you have not one ounce of creativity or problem-solving abilities
>you enjoy having a device full of cameras sold by a company notorious for selling user information

>6 players per match
>no muzzle flash
>way lower quality gun models
they look like fortnite guns for fuck sake

>muzzle flashes don't impact performance
then why didn't they put them in, retard?
look, I don't want to be antagonistic here, but let's be serious, it's a phone chipset running a PC game. an MID RANGE phone chipset too. not even up to par with high end smartphones. do you honestly think it will EVER handle a full quality PC game? it's not gonna have anything more than 3v3, it's not gonna have muzzle flashes, and they're not going to update anything except stability problems. questfags are just as delusional as switch fags, when they get a port of a PS3/4 game and it runs at 20fps and at 360p they go "looks silly smooth and great to me! downgrades? only if you put them side by side!"
you bought a quest. you bought the casual version of VR. it's got its own place and its own market I'm not gonna put it down, but don't think for any moment that it'll ever reach even half of what PC VR can handle, and by that I don't just mean muh graphics, but I mean things that matter, like player counts, or map sizes, or animations. please, stop being delusional. again I know it sounds like I'm attacking you personally, but I'm not. I'm just saying the shit you are saying is like a switch saying "wow just wait for an update this switch port will be just as good as the PS4 or PC port". I know it won't happen, you know it won't happen. for your sake, stop.

Attached: 1559206483256.png (1920x1080, 1.89M)

No because I have a Rift.

>you like inferior experiences
>you're lazy as all shit to the point where you wouldn't even be able to place down a speaker
>you have not one ounce of creativity or problem-solving abilities
you think you're smart but frictionlessness is literally the most important thing when designing a product

Oculus will win this gen

It's called an Alpha, retard. It's not the final product.

Dave himself says that he is targeting 10 players just like the PC version, you are judging the game by a scrapped together alpha that has been out for one week, the dev had access to the quest for two.

like shit. it's essentially a phone with vr screens. if you're going VR and you already have an HTC, just buy an index headset only, or if you wanna try oculus, buy the rift S. it's insane to want to go from high quality PC gaming to mobile phone gaming

Attached: 1557124708551.png (1668x2388, 2.41M)

>then why didn't they put them in, retard?
because unity defaults some optimization on its own. i bet everything pavlov devs did to make it run on quest so far was pressing the "low quality" button. if (low quality) particles=off. muzzle flash particle isn't all that difficult to render.

i'm not the other guy though, just explaining why muzzle flash is not there. those webms reek of a quick cheap "optimise" button, but there is nothing wrong with that considering it's an unreleased alpha version (afaik).

man pavlovs funplay is just so shit compared to h3vr and contractors

FPBP

yeah, but it's more fun than both of those to be honest with you.
I mean if you want a fun game, play Pavlov, if you want an interactive 3d model showcase, play h3vr

>quest beat saber already modded, official costum songs coming
>both rec room and VRChat already ported
>onward quest port being teased by the devs
>blade and sorcery dev wants to port it too
>final assault in summer
truly the patrician platform

Attached: 1545557699594.jpg (399x399, 14K)

>Be Questpleb in Pavlov
>Indexchad has joined the game
>Round 1
>Get headshot instantly with a handgun from 100m away thanks to his superior resolution, FOV, tracking and dual-lense system
>He mockingly flips you the bird using his finger-tracking controllers, but it's not like you could see that with your smartphone hardware
>Round 2
>He spots you from the corner of his eye, shoots you without even needing to turn his head because his screens are sharp at every angle. He was standing in the open, but he knew that with your shitty washed out graphics and lack of muzzle flashes, he was effectively invisible
>Round 3
>He's dancing and wobbling his head around, nails you anyway because he can still see clearly while doing that due to the 144Hz refresh rate, meanwhile you're straining to keep your head straight and needing to regain your balance every time you turn
>Round 4
You look around a corner, only to see a grenade land next to you and explode. Even though he threw it under his leg, it landed perfectly thanks to a combination of impeccable tracking, the precision release only Index controllers are capable of, and the superior genetics that let him manage highly complex tasks such as setting up base stations
>Round 5
>He leaves to play a better game you can't even run

Attached: raf,750x1000,075,t,101010_01c5ca27c6.jpg (750x1000, 194K)

Elite Dangerous sucks dick, I got bored of it back in 2D and I haven't even bothered trying it in VR.

JAV studios recently upgraded to 60fps, other than that, no.

STOP WANTING VR TO GO MAINSTREAM YOU RETARDS STOP FUCKING GOING MAD OVER MAINSTREAM APPEAL. YOU RETARDS ALREADY KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN COMPANIES START TRYING TO APPEAL TO THE MAINSTREAM, YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE NORMIES GET AHOLD OF SHIT.
THE SECOND VR GOES MAINSTREAM, SAY GOODBYE TO 30$ FULL QUALITY 6-8 HR GAMES, AND SAY HELLO 1000'S OF SHITTY LOW QUALITY LOOTBOX MICROTRANSACTION ORIENTED BULLSHIT, A FLOOD OF "SOCIAL GAMES", AND SHITTY WAITING SIMS.
>b-but just don't buy those games and buy the good ones :^)
DO YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE ANY COMPANY WILL MAKE QUALITY AND MAYBE MAKE MONEY INSTEAD OF MAKING MILLIONS WITH LOW QUALITY MICROTRANSACTION LOOTBOX BULLSHIT?? YOU THINK COMPANIES HAVE PASSION AND SHIT? LOOK AT HOW PROMISING MOBILE GAMING WAS 10 YEARS AGO, AND LOOK AT IT NOW. THIS IS WHERE VR IS HEADED IF IT BECOMES "MAINSTREAM" AND YOU RETARDS KEEP PUSHING FOR IT
YOU ARE DIGGING YOUR OWN SAD GRAVE, YOU WILL LOOK BACK 5 YEARS FROM NOW AND ASK WHY YOU PUSHED SO HARD FOR THE NORMIES TO GET A HOLD OF VR

Attached: 1559239784483m.jpg (1024x1024, 233K)

imagine thinking PC and mobile will have crossplay, also that's pretty cringe man

>Be Questbro in pavlov
>Indexfag has joined the game
>Round 1
>As you approach the enemy, you notice his player model doing weird stuff, head is on the ground
>You walk closer and hear disturbing sounds
>He accidentally hanged himself on the cable
>Sounds of arms and legs helplessly hitting the floor turn into quiet hoarse and choked wheezes
>God, not again

guess that proves how mobile VR is so bad as to be pointless

>SAY GOODBYE TO 30$ FULL QUALITY 6-8 HR GAMES, AND SAY HELLO 1000'S OF SHITTY LOW QUALITY LOOTBOX MICROTRANSACTION ORIENTED BULLSHIT, A FLOOD OF "SOCIAL GAMES", AND SHITTY WAITING SIMS.
We don't have any 30$ quality games, though. We have dogshit tech demos.

VR becoming mainstream means that far more people will try and make something stick. Right now, the choice is fucking dreadful. I was actually stunned when I picked up a Vive and found out that the most "in-depth" gun simulator isn't even as good as Receiver, a game made in a fucking week.

That's how bad things are. VR right now is a bad joke, and I would fucking LOVE to get something approaching real games in this shit.

I'm not gonna list the same list of 30+ games that gets posted every thread, spoon-feed yourself

Attached: MkXwLLy.jpg (1725x597, 147K)

Nah. I've already got a regular Rift, and I'm going to wait until November to see if Valve is going to do any kind of BF deals for the Index.

Thanks for making my point but louder to ring to the retards ears.
