Here's what I think and the reason is pretty fucking simple. The difference with vanilla and NTR is that vanilla has NOTHING TO PROVE. What I mean with that is that the girl is already won over so they spend the whole time looking each other in the eyes, holding hands and saying "I love you" every other minute. While a cute and sweet story, it's BORING as erotica.
Now NTR for example, have an antagonist which means that the antag should be way superior at sex than the protag and needs to show that to the readers. Which means that every little bit of space during the sex scenes is spent on showing how pleasurable the sex is. It's more intense, more detailed and just straight up better sex scenes because the antag has to prove to the readers that the antag is better at sex so the sex is just better.
Some vanilla authors have a brain and understand people are here to masturbate so they draw good sex scenes.
Anyway that's just my opinion.
