Theres plenty of content to do in game, and it has a very fun battle system. However, the story takes a while to pick up and each characters story is pretty much a self contained bit with little to no connections with any other characters story.

It got much funner once I had everyone and started making my way through chapter 2
I guess I'm a casual in that regard.
But does the combat compare to smt and eo? If it does then I might bite the bullet anyway

im really enjoying this game and wanted to set up my team to play it a second time through (pick 4 guys once and 4 guys the other time) but then i realize i screwed up and took tressa and the thief who's name i've forgotten.
anyway best party is
merchant + cleric for support, wind and light off magic.
warrior + hunter for weapons/phys damage
thief + alchemist for single target and support
wizard + dancer for ice/lightning/fire/shadow magic, mana regen talent, and buffs if enemies aren't weak to his damage
That pic doesn't show much improvement over those years. those perspectives weren't fixed they were changed. And he dropped foreshortening effect, probably by ragequit more than choice.
I went with scholar/merchant to use that sp saver talent instead.
Really useful to pump out sorcerer spells for only 18 sp

What I can say about octopath traveler is that it allows you to play very flexibly and devise your own strategies and methods for going through the game.

Assuming your party there is Tressa/Olberic/Therion/Cyrus, no. First of all I don't see Alfyn there. Second Prim is arguably a better scholar/sorc than Cyrus.
Picking Therion (thief) as your main is rather unfortunately a good option. I say unfortunately since the purple chests require him. I hope we get a mod that fixes that in the PC version.
In therms of gameplay, she is probably one of the better. But she is suprisingly bland for being noble raised in a "not-brothel", seeing her friend die for her and fueld only by vengeansce.

Funny, I actually think she's the least bland girl. Yeah she's pretty straightforward in her revenge quest given the circumstances, but she still manages to have a few more layers to her. This is especially apparently in her party dialogues where she gets to show more sides of herself.
Theey can be done in any order you choose, but theres normally one or two with an average lower recommended level. I did those first to level up the characters that have a higher recommended level for their chapters.
As usual this kind of generalization make it meaningless, the medieval period was a long period of time and Europe was a large place with various cultures with their own grooming habits. Did some women in some areas during this period shave their genitals? Almost certainly. Was it ever a common practice across all of or most of Medieval Europe? We don't know for sure but it's fairly unlikely. Does an uptick in hygienic practices mean more shaven women? Not really, as this is an aesthetic preference more than anything else.
This is a fashion like any other and these things come and go in waves, in the 80's full bush was normal, 90's saw the rise of carefully groomed pubes being coaxed into various shapes (triangles, hearts, landing strips), 00's were completely clean shaven and/or waxed, 10's is seeing a resurgence of women with pubic hair although the clean look is still most common. So there probably were places and times when shaving the genitals was normal but if you were to travel back in time with a time machine set at random across Europe and throughout the medieval period and just hiked up women's gowns to see their grooming habits you'd probably find more bush than shaven.
