There's noteworthy tricks that make it much easier, like missile spamming Ballo's eye and getting the spur.

Well, the randomly falling blocks are at the beginning of the gauntlet precisely to fuck with you and not let you memorize the -entire- thing. After you clear that one room, you can get through the rest just with muscle memory alone.
If you don't want to rely on muscle memory, you need to have some Bruce Lee reflexes or something, the 7-minute mark is really unforgiving and you will still get hit by some things in the first playthrough.

Well first off, the Switch version uses a higher res resprite but does not include the original graphics as an option like their PC version does, so you have to deal with that. The Switch version adds "lighting" which just blacks out the level tiling (see pic related) and imo looks worse. They also added dynamic splashy water which looks out of place. I'm pretty sure you can turn off the water, dunno about the lighting.

1. human mode is way too punishing and not fun unless you're a masocist.
2. it was only added in the nicalis ports so it's not quite part of "the canon", same with the halloween/christmas costumes.
