Finished the prologue. Honestly if they can polish up the movement and framerate before the final release I'm pretty excited. The character creator is also god tier and it doesn't seem like they censored anything since the breast slider is still in and Io jiggles with the wind.

The character creation has a crazy number of options. I can't really get a feel for any of the weapons though. The polearms are just weaker hammers/axes, and the bayonet fire has like no range. Haven't found a decent sword yet though.

The weapon handling and especially the blood devour attacks, also the whole art direction and character designs make it pretty obvious.

a lot, ichor is a resource you get by hitting enemies you can use as ammo or mana like OP, drain attacks are like devour attacks you get a charged slow one and a quick one to use mid-combo, the way certain weapons handle, some of the gifts resemble burst arts even the plot is like GE3 so far

After you finish the prologue you unlock a high difficulty optional dungeon in the Depths. They weren't lying when they said high difficulty either. I went in and got dabbed on by the first mob. The recommended level is 40 but it looks like you can only grind the prologue area over and over if you want to level up.

You can pick Mia as a partner for the Depths though.

The movement and the frame rate are just a little clunky but still playable. It's not broken, but it can certainly be polished up more before the full release.

Game's pretty good so far. Similar to God Eater to MonHun, the weight behind the moves feels less pronounced, but the enemies do react to getting hit. Layout so far is pretty linear but there are shortcuts to unlock. Backstabs can cause all kinds of weird animations. They feel longer than they should, but they're visually pretty cool.

Didn't have much trouble in terms of difficulty until the boss, since the NPCs kind of stomp mobs themselves. They also can revive you by sacrificing some of their own health. I guess bringing them along is like an easy mode.
The parry is nice once you get the timing down. The animation looks like something out of Tokyo Ghoul.

Beat the tutorial then you can change your partners between Louis, some other guy, and Mia.

2 hours in and all it has going for it is a nice character customization.
There's no weight to the combat, feels like you're just waving a wooden stick around in the air and enemies are so slow and unaware that you never get hit. The animations, especially the running animation with no weapon equipped, are absolutely dreadful and stutter a lot. The lighting on enemies and certain areas looks so out of place, things are highlighted in a glow for no reason and it's really off putting to the eye. I can see past the blatant Souls themes that they wanted to try and copy into their own game, to mimic something with success is only natural. The classes or "codes" are interesting along with the multiple weapons I managed to pick up along the way, such a shame it turned out like this. The trailers look 10x better than the actual game and they weren't that good to begin with. They tried to sell us a game with the promise of Dark Souls and anime waifu's, I feel like such a dumb shit for thinking Bamco could pull this off well

I like it. Very clearly souls inspired like they've made obvious from the start. Classes all have different abilities and you can switch classes whenever, so it feels like there's going to be variety there if you want it. There's the regular light attack and a heavy attack that you can charge which changes the power and animation. Companions made mobs too easy at times so I don't know if I'll want to bring them too often. The walking animation looks a bit jank. Just beat the first boss and overall I enjoyed myself

I'm liking it but weapons feel off when you hit an enemy and I can't explain why.

You can still take on basic enemies there for quick haze accumulation.
Aset's spells also help a shit load, like the 6400 Haze thunder spell which only uses 5 Ichor and comes out fast for ~800 damage.

The first sets of enemies are piss easy and they give loads of haze so you can level up quick. The minibosses will fuck you up if you aren't leveled.
