The franchises mentioned in the OP are pretty much the only ones still alive in America, besides a couple you'd find in more touristy places or almost dead malls that are mostly filled with ticket redemption games, UFO catchers and mobile game conversions.

Yeah, in America they survive by basically combining them with bars, so, barcades. Less chance for children to do shady shit in there if you offer alcohol and card people, or make it a family establishment like Dave and Busters.
Some pretty cool cabinets are still being created though like the Konami Mario Kart or Luigi's Mansion arcade cabinets. But sometimes it's just shit like mobile games but with a bigger screen. But other than that truly good arcades is only a Japan thing now.

Is it though? I remember my shitty arcade in the mall having a Extreme machine for fucking years and we even got permission to repair the pads and install Stepmania in it. I think the last I remember after I graduated high school i left the city i was in and the next time i went back there ears later the arcade was long gone.

God it's been so long since my heyday. I don't think I can manage a few sets above an average 8/10 at my current stamina and shape. I know I'm bar hugging for the few 9/10s and 10 I can actually manage. Yes I'm aware they changed the difficulty meter in more recent installments but that is what i remember.

I fucking love gitadora.I've been spending alot of time playing it lately and it's so damn fun especially with friends.I'm at like 3k GP but I want to try doing more expert charts.I can do most 5-6s.I always chuckle when normies walk by and say its guitar hero.If only they knew about the neckbeard dedication to have good PA.
