2002-2003 G4 was based as fuck. The channel was obsessed and dedicated to games at a near autistic level. A channel like that will never be possible again.
Also, merging with TechTV was a mistake. The channels had entirely different audiences and it led to both channels being ruined.
It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, but goddamn I do miss it. I also miss Sci Fi being a good channel. All TV has pretty much gone to shit though.
A lot of anime in that video. Did they review anime? I don't remember ever seeing that.
A running theme during the show's run was that they consistently shit on anime games, namely Inuyasha and Fullmetal Alchemist.
They didn't like anime very much. It would always get knocked down unless it was Final Fantasy or one of the acceptable ones. Shonen and other ironic weeb stuff always took a hit for it.
Electric Playground is still going on on youtube. He even brings in tommy from time to time
Support Vic and Tommy you raggamuffins

this channel has been dedicated to upload as much X-play as possible, it definitely has a good chunk of eps including some episode compliations based around different gaming events/holiday specials (the PSP launch, the Wii launch, anniversaries, halloween, christmas, etc.)
Fuck I love this show, I remember when me and my mom had our power cut because of a storm we watched all of this on my laptop.
>tfw Yea Forums watches Cinematech is never coming back
I watched actual satellite television this week and it's so weird. All reruns, emphasis for on-demand content, Conan is 30 minutes now and just shills his podcast, and nothing is worth watching.
Kids in my family just watch youtubers they like on their tv, coming home and watching Cartoon Network or something isnt a thing anymore.
Morgan was the ugliest chick on G4. People only liked her because tits.
youtube.com
>WHAT IS THIS GAME that keeps announcing: "the terrorists win!"??
I wanna go back
Satellite Tv is still a thing?
i really wish we still had Satellite Tv here in mexico (we called it Parabolica.), hell here in my housei had such thing, but since i was a babby, they never let me even touch the goddamn remote.
all that i missed out... now im depressed...
Cinematech Noctural Emissions was THEE shit. I wanna go back bros...
>still uploads oldschool episodes
That's pretty fuckin based
I still hold out hope they'll come back. I'd even be okay with Twitch owning it at this point and streaming it off there as a weekly thing.

I was fucking HOOKED from then on
oh wow i havent seen vic in years he looks good
Their entire PS3 launch episode was great because of all the shattered dreams but Gundam crossfire was probably my favorite.
Completely based.
Damn that couch shot is aesthetic, nobody can make something that nice today
I was born in 2000 and remember watching this show
I'm surprised Adult Swim didn't pick this up. There's a lot more in the game industry that they could poke fun at.
does anyone have a link to when they did the rpg maker 2 review
youtube.com
The shilling of this episode convinced me to buy WoW
I love you, whores!
the ps2/gamecube/xbox era was the best time in all respects, especially for G4 and TechTV
Paging all Sopa de Macacos, please report and say how much you wanted to bust a nut in her chest or buy that overpriced sound system advertised at the end of the show.
Portal or Cheat! can't remember which one was first
2004
Comcast Box when i was like 13
I liked AotS's series of sketches where Cobra Commander tried to run for the '08 election.
This is still thee greatest episode of Cheat! to this day. And somehow Kristin is still hot
probably cinematec or X-play
around 2004-06
I really wish I had bought WoW at that point, I would've been a cool kid playing during Vanilla instead of a bitch playing it during late TBC.
Code Monkeys was fucking kino. It's pretty shitty you cant get season 1 and 2 on blu ray

G4 was only decent for its first 2 years or so, before becoming cucked. Even then, shows like Players, Cinematech, and Blister were all complete wastes of time. Portal was funny (and I wish it continued instead of ending), and I miss Electric Playground/Judgement Day, and the Tech-TV shows, X-Play and Screen Savers (Attack of the Show) were the final saving graces for the channel.
I do NOT miss it at all.
Lifeline was such a shit treasure. Watching Jerma lose his mind playing it was great a month or so ago
e3 is coming up and it has me thinking about how much I used to enjoy G4's coverage. now even e3 is a shell of its former self.
>and I miss Electric Playground/Judgement Day

I mean, I understand fighting the internet was a losing fight, but they could have at least went out with a bit of decency, you know? Kudos to The Dorito Pope though. Even G4's demise couldn't deter his journalistic influence.

I remember all those GGW commercials
They played them every commercial break and sometimes back to back
G4TechTV was the best era.
TechTV and G4 were also both great pre-merger.
Once they dropped TechTV from the title and it just became G4 things went down hill fast.
cheaters and star trek didn't kick in until later. initially they played cinematech and reruns of their other shows late at night. when they first introduced cheaters and cops they only played late at night when people were asleep anyway.
nigga its never going to get a bluray release at all
be thankful you got something
What killed G4? Mismanagement? Lack of being in tune with the changing tide of media? Cable companies dropping the channel? I had so many memories of coming home from school to watch xplay, aots, cheat, etc.
>the target audience for the new intellivision are literal senior citizens
For what purpose
Kristen Holt or whatever
I miss Cheat!
CINEMATIKKU
I can agree with this. TechTV still had better shows. Sessler didn't need a side-chick, and Morgan was cuter on that call-in show.
a mixture of mismanagement, incompetence, and failure to bring in revenue.
I have nothing but good memories of X-Play. However, I didn't watch it religiously so that might be why. It was pretty cheesy at times but it was my kinda cheese.
they didn't like anime but they also showed it alot in the early years
It was one of the few places you could watch Serial Experiments Lain in the US
Does anyone know where I can find the DMC3 X Play review?
The Xplay episode where they review nintendogs and 3/11 ride or die or whatever the fuck. Around 2004 or 5
My nigga. That's exactly what I was gonna post.
>X-Play
>I dunno, sometime after 2003 since Webb was on it.
Arena was cool as fuck. I remember dying to play some UT and SOCOM because of it. And I never got to play either 'cause I was like 9.
When Sessler was on Rev3Games I thought the format stood a chance, but it lowered them to eceleb status. Everyone realized they were valueless at that point.
I always loved Portal. The storyline they wove in with the games was really cool and super ahead of it's time.
I remember my 7th grade summer binging G4 and vidya.
It was maximum comfort and one of the fondest memories of my childhood life.
It was super sad that it went to shit, but I guess thats how everything in our "culture" is nowadays.
Will anything ever replace Cinematech and X-Play? Those were two of my favorite shows. Judgement Day was fun too. Things like noclip are kind of like Icons but I haven't really seen anyone else come up with web series that can replace gaps left by g4's demise.
A little bit of everything. Mismanagement, failure to adapt to trends of their audience (people into tech were quickly moving away from TV), and a little bit of wrong place, wrong time (see: Arena).
Weirdly enough, I feel like they could have survived had they made the transition from TV to web. Twitch is basically the modern day equivalent.
COCK GOBLIN
Was Portal the one where they were doing something like telling a story through games like WoW and connecting it with live action actors? I only vaguely remember that one.

CINEMATEKKU
I knew Arena was corny back then but it was still entertaining as fuck. I always confused the host with that one wrestler guy. John Cena I think his name is?
RIP
I just jacked off to Kristin Holt
>although I jump like a retard...
Based Sess.
My memory was when the show was called Gamespot rather than Extended Play, even had Gauntlet arcade as part of the set even.
wasn't pre-tectv different from station to station
God I loved Judgement Day.
I take it back, I don't remember the commentary being like this at all holy kek.
Their E3 overage really made me think it was the future. Nick has more subs than Rev3 now though. Unless you're some patreon page there's no room in the format.
Anyone remember a show about a dude who would talk to WoW NPCs and do other weird shit? Was that a fever dream or was that actually a show?
>the decline of the network when they showed a fuckton of cheaters reruns
At least they showed boarderline actual porn with that other show i can't remember the name of, but fuck early 2000s G4 was comfy.
Their e3 coverage was fucking great. It just isn't the same without them.
>Pulse Interview with The Brothers Chap of Homestar Runner while I was in Seattle with a friend of my moms
I bugged my parents to get cable during this time
I literally watched the debut of G4 when they were showing old episodes of Starcade. I remember when the fucking countdown to G4 starting as a channel was happening, my dad had told me about it. I grew up with G4 god dammit.
>G4
Use to watch the fuck out of this, one of the few things I watched regularly.
Kristin gave me my leg and feet fetish.
Techtv and the G4-TechTV was a great time. I honestly thought it was better when the merger happened and they began focusing on the huge game releases like Doom 3,Half Life 2 and Halo 2.
I can remember in the afternoon it had X-Play Screen Savers. Then at night it had late night Anime like Serial Experiments Lain and Ghost In The Shell and ended off with Game trailers. Which was really the great part. I remember taking days off in JR high to just not give a fuck and watch it.
Sadly it went to shit right when the merger happened and it just became worse. Cheaters, Cops, Star Trek late at night. It just was absolute dog shit and it made zero sense scheduling that stuff. It was perhaps what made it's death much quicker.
I'm upset. I'm upset because I realize you could NEVER review games like this nowadays. Can you imagine the kind of backlash you'd get for giving a game such a harsh (deserved) review like Drake? The people coming down on you for saying mean things would cripple reviews like these.
Wew lad.
Portal

Both of those Networks where my shit. Toonami still does a good job of what they do as does Adult Swim. The rest of Cartoon Network has fallen off the last 7 years.
I wish Morgan and Adam did video game reviews again.
But Morgan married a billionaire, what a smart billio boi
>Adam

No wonder every script revolved around Morgan making Adam her bitch.
>lain will never be on western TV again
I'm so glad I watched TechTV at 1am in the early 2000s
There used to be a guy who did his own version of Cinematech for a few years but then he said he was wrapped up with college shit, only to disappear and never update again.
This was the last episode he did and it was back in 2016.
youtu.be
It may not be the same but tubitv.com
How did everything change in such a short amount of time? This was around, what, 2003-4?
I never thought I would see the day when I would miss fucking Cops
I heard that Spike was still showing reruns of Cops, but I don't have a reason to own cable at this point
I'm no footfag but....
I remember the beginnings as well. It was fucking amazing. My dad told me about it as well, a few months before it came out. It was a dream come true. Maximum comfort.

yep. this is what made me go buy wow
Blair Butler always looked like Morgan and Adam fused together.
Why did it all have to go so fucking wrong

Games Journalists unironically lost their SOUL and are now SOULLESS
Fuck, i remember when IGN was mocked for being soulless clickbaiting garbage and G4 being praised.
*makes you remember me*
remember when adam sessler gave a lavish slobbering review to bioshock infinite and you played the game and it was festering worm-filled dog shit on a hot day
Just a few more days boys.
I remember it fondly but AOTS isnt well regarded here by oldfags, Olivia is hated by newfags.
This was the link I expected. You did not disappoint
My third eye is pretty open and I still miss it. It was before the (((system))) really started to crack down on things. Of course, I was very psychically ignorant and was rotting in a lot of ways - if I could go back I would tell myself to act differently. Still, I miss those olden times and have a distinct fondness for it.
You're delusional
Early AOTS was great. The 2 Kevins, Sarah Long, and Blair Butler (I think that was his name) put together a good show. Unlike later AOTS where it was more focused on internet videos and pop culture, it was also still somewhat tech related. I remember them making giant game controllers and gameboys and shit.
Not all of us did.
>All this lost quality
Post top 3 shows that aired
It's possible, it may have even been a different show, but I swear it was X-play.
Jesus Christ. Kristin could get the dick. I'm talking balls deep worth of penis. Never before has a women awoken such carnal urges from deep within my loins.
>You will never again see Magato Nagano conquer Mt. Midoriyama

Fuck you I liked it
Makes sense considering most of them were production assistants for G4. It's the same DNA.
Not only Lain but Ghost In The Shell as well
It was pretty fucking disappointing to see the state Adam became.
All of my heroes have turned into creepy parroting copycats of the approved narrative, despite me loving them for going against it.
What causes this? It's like everybody got blasted with a new personality and it missed me.
My former best friend Charles went from a womanizing Chad who beat up a tranny to a full rasing a black kid cuck who tweeted "trans rights are human rights".
Its fuckin scary shit.
I remember a video that made fun of him for being an english major or something
Anyone remember when Ryan Dunn had a show with 3 episodes right before he died?
Was web soup before or after Tosh.0?
i liked it for olivia, because she was hot back then. i have no shame
wide spread psycological warfare campaign getting ramped up.
Possibly even - if you want to go this far - a tearing at the seams of reality, with reality in the early stages of bifurcating into two entirely different realities - and the narrative is trying to expand its gravity well to bring as many souls along into the pit with it as possible.
>web soup
June 7, 2009 – July 20, 2011
>tosh.0
June 4, 2009 – present
They coincidentally premiered the same month and year, few days apart from each other but The Soup with Joel McHale remains the OG.
What a fucking missed opportunity. It's the same thing with there being no new Boondocks. There is literally too much shit to not riff on in the industry for there to be no new Code Monkeys or series equivalent in post 2010 vidya.
>14 year old me

>new Boondocks

the guy has always been a weirdo honestly. now he just wants to make money and be on tv and shit
I already knew Cinematech was played a huge hand in my gaming and anime tastes but thinking about it even more, it has to be the direct reason I'm also interested in non-conventional games with weird ideas/gameplay as well (for a lack of a better way to word it. I wish it was easier to find old episodes, last I checked all that was around were some Noctural Emissions eps.
Fuck this made me sadder than it should have

Most of Yea Forums was probably underageb& at one point or another. The important thing was whether they posted, and if they did, whether they actually behaved like underageb&s.

In all honesty, Scot Rubin was fucking nuts. I remember when he got big into a bunch of nutty conspiracies primarily 9/11 and the moon landings. This was after he left G4 to create his own forum which ultimately failed.

That was such an awesome show. It was beyond weird and god damn corny/cheesy but somehow they managed to make a compelling story to watch. I'm somewhat glad it ended before WoW became a thing, back when MMO's were sitll extremely diverse and weren't driven by instances
INUYASHA IS SO SEEP AND INTRICATE
YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW
I remember when diane mizota had a episode that was basically a house party with freinds I remember she had her feet up on the table and i started getting really turned on from that
>G4TechTV was the best era.
No it wasn't. The merger to pretend you'd get the best of both worlds was very temporary and it was clear to everyone on the forums that much of the programming was going to be butchered out in months. And that's what happened.
>some xplay or cheat episode either 2005 or 2006. yeah... i finally got g4 on my channel list right about the time when it started to die. only got to see SOME arena, icons, cinematech etc. before the channel started removing all that in favor of campus PD, cops, and other shit. still, was great watching e3.
> A channel like that will never be possible again.
You honestly don't need to. Everything you found on G4 in 2002-03 is on Youtube or Twitch. With only exceptions being shows like Portal. Problem was G4 at the time was experimental and Comcast knew that.
Do you have episodes of Portal?
Dang user you're a real bro, thank you a lot for this. I hope you this upcoming weekend treats you great.
No, but I have recently acquired a few episodes of Cheat and Filter
>Was Portal the one where they were doing something like telling a story through games like WoW and connecting it with live action actors?
It was Pre-WoW. Everquest 1, Dark Age Of Camelot. Asheron's Call 1&2, Anarchy Online, Sims Online, Star Wars Galaxy, Second Life ect. Basically before the age of cookie cutter MMO's based off of WoW's success.
youtube.com
Oh shit, most of the episodes are on Youtube.
Whatever happened to that one user who thought about doing a Toonami Aftermath-like stream for G4/TechTV? I think he even made a mock schedule.

>A terrible joke they did was enough to get me to buy a game
Fuck man. That game was good.
Honestly both stations were better before the merger
After the merger everything techTV had was pretty much gone and everything g4 had was watered down.
Tech TV fags always bitch that the merger was bad for tech TV shows, when in reality it was bad for both sides.
Also with streaming being the hot new rage these days you'd think someone would revive live programming in the same vain as screensavers, maybe mixing in some livestream demos of new releases.
Munn was the main reason I watched AoTS
wow that cosplay actually looks decent and it's just regular clothes
I'm pretty sure there's something like that on Twitch but I never bothered to bookmark it cause I do remember seeing someone on Twitch buildinging a computer and doing tech support for chat at the same time.
Also,
>Tech TV fags always bitch that the merger was bad for tech TV shows, when in reality it was bad for both sides.
Finally, someone who knows the truth.
Munn was the reason I stopped watching.
She was annoying and not funny.
>Munn and Zach "you'll leave here pregnant" Sellwyn replace Sarah and Brendan
I feel dirty

I didn't want to remember this...
Yeah but like, a colaberative channel where you get a bunch of techheads for a 2 hour block, gamers for another 2 hour block, and animation fags for another 2 hour block
While sure you can get shit on demand these days with youtube, its nice to have a program of content so you don't have to go searching for shit and can have something on in the background while you work on shit
The Screensavers and X-Play 2002.
Yeah I get what you mean. I think the closest Twitch has gotten to a G4 esque show was pic related and even that somehow flopped. I know they did a pilot for a second season and one of the hosts got replaced but nothing ever came out after that.
It wasn't as good as something like say X-Play or Attack of the Show or G4tv.com (does anyone remember that show? Dorito Pope was one of the hosts), but it was a decent effort and you could tell that the hosts were making the best of things.
>There are zoomers on Yea Forums who actually liked Munn
She was a skank and a poser, was only on there because she was fucking half the cast.
If these motherfuckers play one more episode of Knightrider I'm going to anhero.
Was always too much pusspuss.
That was the moment I gave up on G4
I saw an episode of Extended Play back before it turned into X-Play on ZDTV, this was before the channel turned into TechTV and well before the merger with G4. It was Adam and Kate Botello hosting before they moved her over to The Screensavers. I even got Kate's signature on a ZDTV mousepad somewhere around here.
I'm guessing it was around 2000 or 2001 on Dish TV
I want to go back
This
Icons/Game Makers was my shit
Good thing that style of documentation for vidya history still lives on in Youtube
>shows like Players, Cinematech, and Blister were all complete wastes of time.
I liked Cinematech, especially when it was Nocturnal Emissions and showed weird stuff from Japan, like gravure idol videos.
this
Can we please have a gaming channel again?
>He didn't like Knight Rider
It was better than Cops and Cheaters
I was born in the wrong generation
That gas station guy Shingo is the one I always wanted to win
They're all shit.
Is there any archive of the anime that were on cinematech? I can't find anything online. There's one fucking show I have the faintest fucking memory of, I just remember some small montage of different types of mushrooms? It was some kind of gag. I've resigned myself to never finding it, but it'd still be nice.
Portal was fucking amazing. The humor was amazing and probably a little cheesy now but all the characters were memorable. One of the first of its kind of Machinima. I still think it's weird the guy who hosted the show just ghosted everyone in the entertainment industry after the show died. Can anyone even find this guy anymore? I googled everywhere. His name was Dave Meinstein.
Was it just me or did every single person on Arena suck?
this shit right here. i remember this song every time E3 comes around
>no meet the sess video
Cmon guys this shit was spammed all day on Yea Forums
youtu.be
I think the guy who hosted Blister also became ghost after Blister ended.
Esports back then was different. They didn't have really any leaderboards. If you were good people will learn of your name. That's how Fatality became the first guy to become esports big.
Arena wasn't all that regulated like esports today they just threw gamers together whom they thought were good. And they had their own weird set of rules. I still think it's a fun show.
Are you sure it was Cinematch and not Anime Unleashed?
Not only has he gone ghost but lostmediawiki.com
man ninja warrior was so great. why did american ninja warrior have to completely tarnish and destroy the name
they just had to fucking do what all american shows do and give 30 biographies for every fucking contestant about how sad their life is, only to be followed by them nearly immediately failing the course. they really just shit all over it
I guess. I remember they had a vr game with a lightgun. That looked cool. The players played a variety of games from Socom to fighting games.
Man this breaks my heart! G4's Portal was honestly a piece of video game culture history. Such a shame half of those episodes are lost.
I remember watching this channel when I was a kid, it was mostly shit, but YouTube wasn't a thing yet.
You might be thinking of the later arena, early arena had to be pretty much pulled from airing because Will Weaton was trying to unionize and it clashed hard with the executives, and they replaced them with Pirera who we all know is a corperate cocksucker
>Lost episodes
Or how Americans like Levi Meurenberg and Drew Dreschel went to Japan just to job in the 3rd stage.
Arena is a better test of skill then esports imo.
Show up, get set up to play 3 random games.
Didnt they also have that show Kung Faux where it was a bunch of rappers MST3Kng old kung fu movies?
Maybe? This would've been like 2003/2004.
i liked levi, he was the first one and he managed to get pretty far into the course a few times. i did not realize at the time though that that was the beginning of what would become american ninja warrior. we need to go back
It started airing in 2002 so it could be. There is a list of anime it showed on the wiki and it's not that long.
Yeah but most of us want to watch one type of game say like Counter-Strike. Most of us don't want to actually watch fighting games or some stupid arcade racing game. Besides these gamers are not pushing themselves to the limit like Esports today. We get people who practice hours upon hours and these dudes just sit their fatasses on the couch and play 3 random games? Nope.
I'm honestly glad g4 failed. It would've been taken over by SJWs and been nonstop propaganda at this point.
>lost episodes of portal
>I still remember that badger character that thought the host died and went mute
i hate that youre right user. it truly is just something to be preserved in time. that culture is long dead whether we choose to accept it or not
Didn't Adam go SJW after he left?
You guys never just shut the fuck up about your boogeyman constantly huh?
GVMERS on YouTube is pretty much Icons and it's really good. If someone says the same people worked on both I wouldn't be surprised.
Gosh, this takes me back.
>Robot Wars on G4
>2008
It was when we switched from cable to whatever shit Verizon was doing back then. It opened my eyes to the wider world of video games and I was never the same again.
Not only that but he became a drug addict and started losing his shit.
>inb4 trannyporn pictures
Welcome to Yea Forums.
To be fair, G4 fucked him hard
>i hate that youre right user. it truly is just something to be preserved in time. that culture is long dead whether we choose to accept it or not
What do you mean? Do you really want G4 back? We're now in a renaissance of video games being more popular than ever. We have Youtube with 10x more video game content than G4 ever was. We got Twitch with even more video game content and we got a fun Esports scene that's blowing up in popularity. There's no reason to even want G4 back. We're living in the prime time line.
>Not only that but he became a drug addict and started losing his shit.
Was there any evidence of him taking actual drugs? Or was it actual sleep deprivation? It looked like he was on cocaine but I could be wrong, I don't know.
How?
So fucking Kino man. I miss these guys.
i do think video games were funner when it was just more an exclusive piece of nerd culture rather than what it is now. its nice that there is a plethora of different gaming information readily available, but i guess it just doesnt carry the same charm for me. it could be pure nostalgia i admit, but its simply not as fun for me
Robot Wars was pretty fun to watch. Or at least it was until everything just turned into wedge vs. slightly different looking wedge.
>prime time line
haha no
Who cares she was hot and attack of the show wasn’t even that great
I remember how amazed I was by San Andreas gameplay they showcased upon release on this show.
Don't forget the fact that we have Youtube channels carrying on the legacy of Icons and going even further in depth about subjects like Modern Vintage Gamer, My Life in Gaming and Game Sack.
I swear I was the only one who remembered that show. I find it funny how Dorito Pope was one of the hosts for like only a year.
>AOTS wasn't even that great
Thank you
Games this fundamentally broken don't even really come out that often anymore and when they do they're still taked accross the coals like they should be, Fallout 76 being a good recentish example.
Interns were my favorite part of X-play
>i do think video games were funner when it was just more an exclusive piece of nerd culture rather than what it is now.
Dude you have the worst case of hipsterism. Besides gatekeeping is for fucking faggots. It's either going to die or get popular you can't stick in the middle.
I'm 20 and you can't stop me from posting here lol
I remember this
I always wanted to watch this, is it good?
G4TV Commercials so fucking kino.
G4 went to fucking shit without SJWs, it got so fucking awful after it went from G4TechTV back to G4
G4 was ahead of its time. Could it have survived if they switched to an internet model early on?
okay zoomer
I'm probably older than you and I'm 29. I've watched G4TV since day one on Comcast. Get on my level retard.
Bill Sindelar? He's still a working actor.
this episode is still fucking kino, shame that it nearly killed the show.
youtube.com
Oh man. I have been here 11 years. . .
I'm sure some of the shows could have survived switching to an online format.

Bomber Balls: youtube.com

>the first major cases of corruption in the main stream video game journalism
Lol
You gamergate retards don't seem to understand that the entire purpose of reviews is to sell you approved products and shit on the competitors product. Dive into some old gaming magazines from the 90s, you'll see the same shit. Music and film journalism have always been like this. Gaming isn't some special case
yeah I know, but it's not HD or full screen
OFFICIAL
UNOFFICIAL
I have vague memories of this one weird show id sometimes see that has various clips from games that are usually weirder or more adult. For the life of me I cannot remember what it was but it was usually on later at night.
There's controversial and then there's"it's just like street fighter 2 cuz it's 2d!"
MXC
Nocturnal Emissions
Some of the older PC gaming focused mags were actually quite good, because they clearly wrote for adults and were honest in their reviews instead of shilling to teenagers. But yea, most console gaming magazines were certainly made for max 15 years old audience, and are almost painful to read today if you go back to them.
>Nocturnal Emissions
Thanks user. Found it. Cinematech - Nocturnal Emissions.

I remember, but around the time that video was posted was when I started avoiding Yea Forums
I'm only here rn because I'd get spoiled about Godzilla on my home board, and I'm looking for a Ritual of the Night thread
Shooting games are fucking gay, I've always been a Nintendo/Sony person, specifically because I dont like FPS or TPS. I'd watch a Fighting game any day
>magnolia
so that's where Mark Cuban has been getting his money from
Ok does anyone even remember this one?
lostmediawiki.com
actually yes I remember it.
My parents & my moms side couldn't, but my dad's parents lived in civilization and had satellite
Then my point proven. So you'd rather just watch your favorite fighting game than to watch 2 other genres mixed in you don't give a fuck about
Nothing gives me bittersweet nostalgia quite like g4
Literally everything in my life was better when I could just come home and watch AOTS and feel like I was part of something. It was so ahead of its time now there's all sorts of friend simulator podcasts.
No problem
It was good times when that came on one night when I wasn't expecting it. I was always kind of worried about someone coming in while I was watching it though.
>It was so ahead of its time now there's all sorts of friend simulator podcasts.
>Implying AotS wasn't the same thing
This channel was nothing but a bunch of faggotry. I'm glad the fuckers that were on this all leave or got fired.
Bitch ass gamer media was thinking they were living the life like MTV. Yet, none on G4 had good taste for great games or gamers in general.
Fucking Geoff Keighly was trash. The fuckers in g4tv.com were only Xboxfags. The other only played Madden the other SJW didnt play shit.
It just goes on and on.
that's exactly what Im saying
>Adam slaps your girls ass
wyd?
Give him an ice pack
If Yea Forums has taught me anything it's that internet nazis are the most obnoxious little shits that I want to reach through the computer screen and strangle the little edgelord

Is it even possible with how much media is lost? Like Portal seems to only have 35 out of 60 episodes found and it doesn't help that the show's host has pretty much Thanos'd himself out of existence.
A full schedule for even just a weeks worth is enough just to re-live it
Thank you based user. There's no chance of finding G4TV's Portal?
I have the whole series on my pc, I'll google drive it something if you want it.
On an "In Your Pants" segment from the G4 podcast, Olivia Munn admitted on G4 that she loved to have her toes sucked and nibbled on. Lucky son of a bitch.
Anyone know if theres a live stream akin to cinematech where it just shows either gameplay or cinematics of random games you could just put in the background. I remember there was this twitch channel i followed that just played horror games 24/7 but isnt live streaming anymore
>>morgan webb
Does she have any pics or vid leak yet, i had a big crush on her back then.
Ah, yes. It was so awesome how Xboxfags couldn't watch the Halo 3 trailer because G4 took a commercial break during Microsoft's conference.
Ahhhh, memories. I remember days where I would have the running on the TV. There was this parody trailer for a Mario horror movie I think about every once in a while.
fucking shit keeps thinking its spam, here is the link

Tommy owns a music/sound effects company that almost exclusively contracted with game devs
he ALMOST got Metroid Prime, I remember he gave it a bitchy review because he was so asshurt over it
In todays climate I feel like G4 could thrive. Youtube and twitch are norms now.
If memory serves correct, they ended up doing it to Sony too that year.
>not calling it zdtv
fuck you zoomer.
Make it desu
I still remember one skit they did called "Boba Fetish". That shit was great.
he's a great host desu
only decent thing on CC anymore, even South Park is meh to bad
Would like to see something like this but it being more modern with newer games since i spend most of my time just watching trailers of indie or AA games
Now he only has Videogames live
Holy fucking shit thank you
IDK if this matters but I found a playlist with about 200 vids of Cinematech footage.

>Portal
Top fucking tier taste, dude. I was too young to appreciate it, and now I want it back so badly. I started Anarchy Online because of that show.
are there any high quality rips of this? I want to fap to the Olivia Munn shit that's up on youtube but not in blurry 240p
incel
This is what I'm looking for. Some shit called "Attack The Show". Would be much appreciated.
My 16-year-old self wanted to fuck her SO bad.
here, read the thread next time
I would unironically binge watch reviews simply for the puns at the ends of each review. They along with every other reviewer at the time lost me when long skits started happening.
Why did you all stop watching it? And no you can't use cops as an excuse because that was put in after G4 became unpopular. In my case I was getting deep into the internet at the time, not to mention youtube was beginning to peak.
>Russel Crowe Robin Hood and Tobuscus were 9 years ago
I just wanted to fap I didn't ask to feel old
It was his God of War review where to complained about the trophy named "Bros before Hoes", and the back lash fro his review had to rename the trophy before the game released. Same review where he talked about how the game was to hard and he had to have someone else do one of the ending fights and he was wondering if he had what it takes to keep playing games.
He started to think he was losing his ability, and then felt the power that went with complaining on injustice. The logical thing would be to focus less on your ability that you may not be able to count on, and focus on talking and using the new SJW fan base that was coming to him after he complained about "bros before hoes".
Sess is just a man who saw he was nearing the end of the line and had to change his direction.
I stopped watching it when I got rid of satellite TV. It was one of the few channels I still enjoyed at the time since this was before the channel turned to garbage, but it wasn't enough to justify keeping the subscription. The next time I actually watched the channel was when I was at a friends house years later and it was nothing but American Ninja Warrior followed by Cops reruns. I was rather disappointed by what it had become so I guess it was for the best that I cancelled it when I did.
NINJA WARRIOR
Right you are Ken.
There was this show I vaguely remember, almost sure it was on G4.
It was a japanese show with random facts and they would do little experiment things to prove things.
I remember one episode was about how your piss intertwines with 2 streams and another was about how far sticky beans could stretch.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
I rewatched some of that recently.
Jesus christ, I never knew just how much of a joke they made everyone in it.
It's Effin' Science?
There was Brainiac, but that was British rather than Japanese I think.
I'm also interested in this. Was there a betting aspect to it?
I remember there being a bit about whether or not cricket chirps could be picked up by a telephone. (They couldn't, their frequency is too high)
There might have been a betting aspect to it. That does sound familiar.
Now that I think about it, I think that's the same exact show I was thinking of. Can't remember the name for the life of me.
>and you jump like a retard
kek
Nvm. The one with the betting is called Banzai.
The one I'm thinking of was similar to it, but without the betting part.
the bully episode of Cheat reigns supreme, this is not a question
My issue is that they don't have that much production
When Uwe Bowl punched a Michael Bay dummy and Joel (Pre-Funhaus) loses his shit.
Funhaus was fucking boring. Good they went back to InsideGaming.
>Judgement Day actually gave fair reviews

I know it sounds like general nostalgia garbage but I think Network TV is one of the genuine industries that has gotten significantly worse over the past 20 years.
Begun watching some recently, theres little original or unique content. A lot of the content and channels are very similar ie. Cooking, housing tours, sports, various Simpsons reruns at any moment. I had given up watching TV for about 7-8 years so the change was jarring.
G4 was some 360 butt lickers, Kevin Pereira being the biggest. It's no surprise they went under around the same time the Xbox brand collapsed, they couldn't keep their shit propaganda going any further, those niggers would praise Microsofts shit no games netflix facebook and Kinect E3's and shit on Sony while they were the only ones making games
Super Big Product Fun Show?
Benny was the best character
What is up with Cali leftists and their hate/fear of anime
I miss when we could have sexual innuendo and wacky antics in our games with no one bating an eye and no controversy involved, what happened bros? You think we'll ever see a resurgence in our lifetime, maybe next gen?
Code Monkeys is overall pretty good. Some jokes were hit or miss though like the excessive piss/shit jokes, but that was mostly in the first episodes or so iirc
>tfw NBC had no idea what to do with G4, so instead of branching out more into different aspects of the "nerd world", such as comics, dedicated tech reviews, more movie content, and more original programming, they made it "Cops+AoTS/X-Play" until they just ended up killing it and making it the Vogue Mens channel.
social media gave everyone a voice
including the losers
very hit or miss.
But it's still alright
I don't know, it's probably better that it died since if the studio executives did want to make it more "nerdy" then we would probably end up with more shows like Big Bang Theory.
Really a shame that they had no one on board that knew what to do and NBC wasn't going to listen to the cast of its shows. If they would have had more Con coverage and more video game tournaments, as well as original programming, stuff from Japan/Korea, etc, they'd have been a really interesting network today.
Anyone remember that thing with the splinter cell guys talking shit?
Yeah, it probably would have helped if they did.
Splinter Cell Co-Op with Bob and Steve
I think most of it is up on Youtube
What if it snowed in San Francisco
