The dreamcast was such a based system. Part of me really wants to buy one, but its out of pure nostalgia. Sonic adventure would lack the charm it had when I was a kid. I'm sure soul caliber would feel clunky, shenmue wouldnt feel redefining in any way....jet grind radio would probably still be fun once I got used to the controls again.

Sega's heartbreaking final hurrah. At the time of release it was extremely impressive with its features/hardware. Even my PS1/N64 buddies gawked at some of the shit I'd play or come over to try online. The USA launch was very successful and gave some people hope that Sega would finally be back, but in-fighting between SoA/SoJ and their financial woes meant it was a doomed system. No software or hardware sales could save it or them.

Basically it was a good system and the way I've seen it put was "Sega failed the Dreamcast". Its library was a favorite of mine too (although a lot has been ported now) since I was an arcade nut back then.

Seeing lots of Sega love on the original Xbox was great. I didn't know until the past year that Sega actually wanted Dreamcast games to play in the Xbox as well, but IIRC SegaNet made things too bothersome.

I always have issues choosing between VT1 and 2. I enjoyed more the gameplay in 1 because of that arcade feel and playing it in the arcades was great. But 2 had 2vs2 option and that OC World Tour that was fun as hell

I can't really lock in on just five, but I can say two are PSO and Hydro Thunder. Well fuck, maybe PSO isn't guaranteed, if it were v2 then absolutely, but just base/1.1 might be a stretch. Maybe MVC2. After that there's just too much decent pick up and play to hard-filter.

That's too bad. I was one of the few people in north america whose family had a Saturn. The poor support in North America really pissed my parents off so they chose to go for the PS2 and refused to get a dreamcast.
