Iizuka says a bunch of shit in interviews that ends up being wrong later. He's done this for years. Some examples are that classic Sonic was going to be a one time thing for Generations and that they didn't have plans for Mania DLC.
Puyo Puyo Champions/eSports, yeah, but it's an ultra-low budget title made for use in Japan's esports league that doesn't even have spell animations. It's hardly even a real Puyo game.
