I did. As soon as you get all the relics (at least plat and gold) he confronts you again and mentions it, then challenges you again. I recall the race was harder but the space skip shortcut makes it the easiest fucking thing.

It always bothered me how oxide station wasn't in a cup race. It's in the yellow gem one in adventure mode. I guess because the track was too big for multiplayer.

yes, that's exactly the reason, it's too big for multiplayer and would've lagged the game out too much if it had to render multiple different parts of the track at once, so we got slide colosseum instead.

Speaking of which, now that USF got that huge buff so that you can keep it going with regular turbos, will the Oxide ghosts have to be updated to accomodate for that? Cause otherwise it's probably gonna make it a lot easier on the tracks you can get USF.

I knew it wasn't going to be as good as Transformed but I expected it to still be fun to play single-player. What I got was painfully average at best, everything about the game feels like it was made by some C-rate studio from the woefully unmemorable track design to the voice-acting to the roster and I feel no incentive to try and complete the higher difficulties in the races unlike Transformed where I was compelled to S-rank the entire game TWICE. 5/10, it's okay.

Has anyone noticed how in CTR Tiny, Cortex and Crash always came in first places no matter what? Or is it just me? Is like their A.I. is smarter or something.
What I do to keep the cups fun is try to sabotage certiain characters to modify who gets in second and third place. Try this:
1.Play Nitro Cup, Hard
2. Use Dingodile
3. Win the cup in first place. Cortex, Tiny and Crash MUST NOT get on the podium at the end of the cup.
Sometimes I just let other characters win in first place so they can accumulate points and get to second and third place. Does anybody else do self imposed challenges to increase the difficulty?

IMO the real problem with that shortcut (Oxide Station) is that is too easy and skips a lot of the track. There are other shortcuts that were harder to pull off so you think twice before attempting that on a multiplayer race where you probably will fail, like the one on this video. (1:13)

No, you can't get 105%. 101 is the limit, though I wonder if they change that in the remake. Also, you get nothing for beating Oxide's ghost. Penta is unlockable by cheat only. You get the Scrapbook in the main menu for 101% completition. As long as I remember Gold and Platinum relics are worth the same. (I have an all platinums 101% save)
And boss characters don't have different stats.

Tbh I would say the Japanese story does hold some weight. Jason and Andy and some of the team were somewhat involved with the Japanese localization team, the Japanese crash design was made a naughty dog employee, the crash dance was made by a Japanese person, and one of the trophy girls (Megumi) is named after someone from the Japanese team. It could be possible that someone on the Japanese side asked about Tawna and someone responded with the story as a joke or not.

As for Fake Crash, the answer is yes and no. You need cheat engine/psx cheater plugin to change your character in Adventure mode, and it still won't save on exit.
