I tried using the cowboy repeaters in my most recent playthrough and I wished I hadn't. All they did was eat up my handgun ammo while doing next to no damage.

I do however plan on taking Cowboy and Grunt perks in every future playthrough to make Chance's Knife the most stupidly overpowered melee weapon.

Lonesome road is by far the worst, it's completely linear, there's no real choices or interesting lore / story here. It's just plain trash up until the end. Also, the world map makes zero fucking sense at all.

Honest Hearts is good, but only because the Zion is a largish open area to explore, outside of that it's pretty mediocre.

Dead Money has pretty poor level design, but the best story / characters for DLC.

Old World Blues is the best of both worlds, a decent story, characters and large open area to explore.

my main issue with dead money is that the level design is pretty bad. Everything looks exactly the same in the villa, and then the casino is the most underwhelming thing.

They build up the sierra madre as this grand casino, and once you finally get inside it's tiny as fuck, doesn't even look cool at all, just plain and boring.

enemy variety is also extremely limited.

Finally, the lighting sucks, it's way too dark the entire time, I understand why, but it's still annoying.

The one thing I really like about it though is the "blank slate" where it takes all your gear and starts you off fresh no matter what level you enter the DLC at. The characters too are also all great and interesting / well written.

I don't even bother with Dead Money any more because an unlimited supply of .308 and weapon repair kits aren't really worth going through all that nonsense, but I always do OWB as soon as possible for all the sweet perks and implants.

The DT system also helps, along with ammo crafting. AP rounds let you actually use machine guns on high level enemies and still be able to kill them. Slugs and Fletch do the same for shotguns as well.

As someone who grew up in southern Utah and visited Zion a ton when I was a kid. I have a huge soft spot for Honest Hearts. Plus Joshua Graham is one of the more interesting characters in the game. So it stands out as my favorite, but I'm clearly biased since I knew a lot of crazy Mormons growing up and I love Zion national park. Having a videogame with "The Narrows" still makes 8 year old me smile warmly. I did that hike a lot as a kid.

Think of it like playing 21, except your total has to be between 24-26, and you have to do it three times, and before your opponent does. Beyond that it's just learning how the face cards are used and forming a strategy.

Achievement Hunter of all places gave me a foolproof strategy for Caravan.

Fill your deck with nothing but 7s, 9s, and 10s, then get it up to the minimum deck size with filler shit. On your first turn, discard any and all filler cards while you can (later turns only let you discard one at a time). From there, let the AI have whichever column it's filling out while you fill out the two of your columns NOT opposing theirs. Either go 10, 9, 7 or 7, 9, 10 and once you've filled your two columns, you win.

This gets you the win ~80% of the time and it's how I got the Caravan achievements so I never had to touch that shitty game ever again.

The two games serve a different niche. F:NV serves the RPG side due to having more RPG elements than Stalker and has a much bigger RP variety than stalker. The Riot shotgun sucks because of fucking DT/DR as usual.
I get why that mechanic exists but it in 100% of cases rebalances the game towards high damage/low DPS weapons. The Antimaterial rifle is far more useful than the minigun because the latter is always showing you the "you're not doing any damage" shield.
Riot shotty is garbage and DR-breaking people with the hunting is far more fun, not to mention the hunting shotty is one of the least janky weapons in this jankfest game

I put hundreds of hours into NV before I even got the DLC, while on PS3. There was a point where all the DLC was out, and I didn't have it. However, there was a weird as fuck bug where the level cap was 50 even though I didn't have the DLC. Might've been a save data error since the save file was constantly overloading.

PS3 had 90% of the console issues. 360 version was ok

The entire overarching hilarity of Bethesda's decline is that they simply won't wait the 12 months to replace the Morrowind engine in order to release a game.
They calculated, that in the very, very short term, it was more profitable to hire some computer science goomba to mod in modern aiming mechanics for Fallout 4, as opposed to redo the entire engine. And, I suppose it was.

What the hell kind of shotgun do you have where that happens ever? It takes a fair amount of force to pump a shotgun, its not something you do by accident. The kick from a 12 Gauge shouldn't be any problem either unless you're seriously limp-wristing it. Unless you're a woman or a midget, you should even be able to fire it from the hip with your hand on the pump and be just fine.
