Could be worse. You could have bought a switch and fell for the 600p meme
>not being poor third worlder and content with 30fps 720p gameplay
1080p 60fps master race. Anything else is pathetic, for different reasons.
At least you didn't fall for anything Sony, you didn't, right user?
i settled on 1440p at 60fps as a nice middleground
reach those specs and turn the rest of the processing power toward quality
>he hasn't fallen for the ultrawide meme
Explain yourself.
>never experienced higher frame rates
user, you have to try it if you can afford it
>60hz monitors
4K gaming is beautiful, 1440p 144hz is better for competitive reasons. But 4K 144hz is the dream. If you can't see the difference between 4K and 2K you're blinded by your seething anger
It's 144hz+ or don't bother games look and feel smoother which is better then choppy gameplay with a few more pixels.
It's like 3 million more pixels bro this isn't 768p vs 720p, it's 1440p vs 2160p
>tfw 2560x1080 masterrace
How does higher resolution gives you an advantage in competitive games? Shooters for example. Most ppl prefer lower resolutions for more uncapped FPS, CS:GO for example. I don't really understand how those extra pixels can help. If anything, they just increase the amount of cash you have to invest into your rig to at least reach the refresh rates of your monitor.
That's why you buy 2 monitors 1 for shootas and 1 for watching 4K movies and playing pretty SP games
Poor people coping hard. I got a 50" 4k HDR10 TV for less than $250. That's easily affordable.
More res gives you a way better view distance and more clear detail. Literally your range of movement for aiming is pixel dependent.
You know jack shit so go fucking kys or at least take a shit in your pants and dont clean it
That sounds annoying having to constantly move the monitors around or mouse and keyboard to be in front of the one you want to use.
>tfw play a lot of Jap games that are capped at 60fps
It hurts to go from 120fps to 60. It really does.
>never used 2 monitor setup
Pajeet, juan, jamal, whatever 3rd world ethnicities you have, fucking get a job you pathetic loser.
I just turn my head slightly to the right
>never played csgo with 450fps and 240hz
>When a game only runs between 60 and 80
I get your idea, but the point was that 2k/4k 144hz is good for competitive gaming, which I can't understand
>more resolution means more view distance
lmao, it all makes sense now
nah it's totally alright. Just get enough desk space.
what was the rationale behind buying one of these? i can't imagine thinking it's a good idea.. 99% of content is not supportive, and if it is then it's probably by some hack that breaks animations or other shit just like fov+ injectors etc, most stuff is not built for that much widescreen, it doesn't make any sense to me visually, it's too much vision, we aren't animals with eyes on the sides of our heads.. what marketing scam hooked you well enough to drop money on a ultra wide?
>450fps
>240hz
nigger pls
Seethe more poor nigger
It's alright if you don't wanna buy two monitors but want to have more desktop space. But yea, games are either supported, or you play with black bars on the sides
still maxing anything with my 980ti bought used from a failed btc miner
i dont need anything more than 1080p for gaming
i guess, but i just went with a 1080 120hz and spent 15 extra dollars on a second hand piece of shit monitor from cash converters for my 4chin/jewtube tabs while gaming
The poor virgin cope
Its like driving your rust bucket up and saying "as long as it moves its good for me"
I don't mind the bars honestly.
is it just borderless window? what if the game doesn't like to run in borderless window, or you get nasty screen tearing when not in fullscreen or w/e, you just shit out of luck?
>you don't need more than 60 fps if your screen is 60hz! it just can't display more!
never had the issue
>1080p60
What is this, 2015? Come on buddy the consoles are already catching up to you
why not 144hz? It's not much of a difference compared to 120hz, but I thought 144hz panels were more available on the market
me either, I'm just saying they do exist and if you can't stand it then don't go for ultrawide
No reason to leave that comfy zone and paying for overpriced hardware.
it is a 144hz but i need a different cable, the cable i'm using only goes to 120. was meant to do it a couple days after i bought it. 5 years+ later..
120 is still miles ahead of 60, so you're all right homie. what's your monitor model?
fpbp
I have a 2060, the amount of FPS I get is probably between 60-90 on most modern games on High/Ultra at 1080p. Is it worth getting a 120/144hz monitor?
Even if I’m not getting the top frame rates?
>britbong tranny video
sorry mate, but I'd rather stick to my 10 years competitive fortnite experience rather than watch a shill video
But user, i did
And it was great
>Get 4k monitor
>At the least have the sanity to get one with freesync(22-60 range)
>At the least have the sanity to get a VA panel for around 3800:1 static contrast
So here is the good parts
-Black is a dark blue color instead of grey
-Upscaling artifacts from 1080p and 1440p isn't visible
-4k looks amazing
-Freesync means framestutter isn't a complete piece of shit, losing 5fps just alters framerate instead of random vsync stutter of 60 -> 30 -> 60 -> 30 + dropped frames
-Lots of workspace for CAD, Photoshop and 3D
-Its a monitor, so its RGB color space instead of being capped to 4:4:2 or 4:2:2 YBPRC
-Decent input lag
Downsides:
-Good luck using the USB cables on the monitor.
-Good luck luck pluggin in something new
-Its still a sample and hold LCD monitor. It has motion blur on everything + pixel transformation times
-It supports HDR, and HDR is a piece of shit on Windows.
-It has 32 backlight zones(8x4). You need to turn on HDR to get them working properly. The dynamic backlight is also delayed if its not in HDR mode.
-8x4 backlight zones is still pretty bad.
-1000 nits is too fucking bright.
-The 'ambilight' is a weak piece of shit
I swear to god i selected the image
A big 4k panel is an incredibly advantage in any game where seeing enemies at long range is advantageous. You can see, identify and shoot enemies that can't even see you yet.
60 fps/60 hz? what???? i thought Yea Forums was elitist, it seems its actually filled with consoleonly faggots if 60 hz is enough for you. 240 hz is the master race and 144hz the bare minimum in 2019, anything else and you should just buy a console if you are that poor
>TV
For what? Playing "4k" console games with 20ms input lag? People are talking about PC monitors.
A 1 pixel enemy is just a 2x2 pixel enemy in 4k user.
Its the same.
Stuff like strobing backlight or ULBM makes a bigger difference because you increase perceptability of each frame.
I don't think so, if you don't wanna lower the settings or upgrade your rig, I'd just go with a good 60hz IPS panel. But it will be a bit smoother with 144hz anyway and it's better suited if you will upgrade.
So basically only Battle Royale games? And mil sims, but I doubt those fall into competitive games category
240hz is dope but the diminishing returns after 144hz are tough to justify the price increase if you're a poorfag. So 144hz is optimal on pretty much all levels
>1080p144
>all I ever play is RPG Maker games, VNs and the occasional old ass emulator game
I wish I could upgrade but there's no realistic reason to do so
wrong comparison you brainlet, you didnt account for the status symbol value of a car, whle nobody gives a fuck if you play videogames at a higher resolution
also, i guarantee you money is not an issue
>tfw eyesight is too shit to go above 1080p
You could move to 1440p144
But that still means visible scaling artifacts on everything thats in 1080p.
And for 4k everything thats 144hz has really trash panels. And OLED is yet to be seen outside of high end TVs, and MicroLED is another decade of R&D from possibly entering the consumer marked.
Quadrupling the pixels means you can see details from 4 times as far away. Try playing something like Battlefield in 4k. It's amazing how far away you can see enemies and shoot them even with iron sights.
>he fell for the IPS meme
1080p 144hz here. I am totally satisfied with this. I genuinely have no urge to upgrade for a while. 144hz was a gigantic difference, but 1080p works just fine for me.
>Quadrupling the pixels means you can see details from 4 times as far away.
Rendering doesn't work like that user.
its sad that 4k is a premium experience that only pc players can use.
1440p 165hz monitor + 120hz 65" 4k tv reporting in.
4k is better, you're just poor
