Everybody and their grandma cums on the late game chapter, and understandably so, but I did miss the goofy adventure tone of the earlier chapters. Those actually were among my favorites. Though I don't blame the later chapter or anything, it's only logical the story gets more serious as you go on.

Hate how much I loved XC and X but can't stand XC2. Why go with Gacha? If you are going to rip off Bleach's persona with weapons at least make them more weird than just 80% waifus 15% husbandos and 5% weird. As for comabt I would enjoy it more if I had more control over who can use what blade than it being bonded to whomever unlocked it, Yes I know there's a special item but it's so rare it might not really exist.

My problem isn't if I get a rare or not. It's everything about the whole system that is completely shit. Like not able to transfer them around. Or how each blade you need to grind their achievements or whatever to unlock abilities which is needed to do the field skills. Also how kind of meh the blades look anyways. But I want more weird/strange blades than just normal anime waifus.

More seriously, XC1 since its events provide important context for an event or two from XC2’s plot. Either version works to play though, but Wii original looks a lot better than the 3DS version.
Xenosaga might be worth consideration if you want to appreciate some of XC2’s DLC to the fullest, but they’re unironically moviegames with a very “anime” aesthetic.

Play the other ones user. 1 has some of the better storytelling as a result of it being the only one directed by Takahashi and actually living up to the team's original vision, but the lack of music in dungeons, ugly characters, and dragging battles by endgame make it my least favorite. XS2 is underrated because brainlets don't understand the combat but it's legitimately a fine game, and XS3 is the only one that actually looks really good and is enjoyable the whole way through.
Xenogears is still better overall though due to how fucked the development of Xenosaga was.
